Unfortunately the heels slipped too much for the reason I ordered them, which is walking over uneven ground. I’m going to order the same shoe with a taller profile and laces.

I am 62 and very active. I live on an urban farm and need comfortable and durable shoes to support my lifestyle. I bought these shoes about 3 years ago and wear them all the time. They are as good for transplanting a tree, as they are for running errands. They have a youthful sporty look to them and are very comfortable. They were not out of the box comfortable, but the comfort was worth waiting for. I would definitely recommend them and buy them again.

I bought these for local forest recreation trails, where full hiking boots would be overkill, but too rough and muddy for sneakers. These were the perfect pick. Held up well through mud and flooded sections. Plenty of grip on hills. Would recommend for anyone who likes to walk in conservation land.

These are wonderful. They look great for office work at the marina but rugged to go out and help in the yard. Clean up very well.

Comfortable suede slip on hiking sneaker. Can be a little tight on top. Good traction on sole. Bought the beige and liked so much I bought the blue. Bought on sale so price was right.

Glad I made this purchase. Out of the box, the right shoe tighter than the left. The toe area is about an inch long. Having said that....I have worn them a couple miles a day and are easy walkers. Cushioning good. Warm in 32 degree weather in Cleveland, with alpaca wool socks. They are already loosening some at the ankle area, making it easier to slip on.

The comfort, fit, and performance of the Vista Hiker shoes is top notch! I purchased a pair similar to these 12 or 13 years ago. As a matter of fact, I still have them, though a little worse for the wear. Sadly, that design is no longer available.
The one drawback about the Vista Hikers is that I have to use a shoehorn to put them on, even though ordering a half size up (which helps them be true to size). Other than that, I hope to enjoy these as many years as my first pair!

I followed instructions of other viewers. Yes you need a shoehorn. Yes size up 1/2 size. Find the right LLBean Sock. I love that LLColors work years after years. Thank you LLBEAN

I bought these for my daughter, thinking she might pass them to me. Nope! She loves them, so I had to buy my own - thank you sale rack! I'm normally a size 40 (8-8.5) and i can wear both sizes of these shoes - i sized up to 8.5 to allow for hiking socks but i didn't really need to - the half aize down fits me barefoot and normal socks fine. Nice wide toe area, and lateral foot & arch support keeps my feet happy even when my heel moves a bit in the shoe. These might fit best with small ankles - i have no problem with slipping on & off, and the edge is comfy barefoot, like a wetsuit.

Nice sturdy but comfortable shoes. I need a shoehorn to get them on though. Hopefully in time, they'll slide right on.

Very comfortable and cute shoe. Nice for summer but can transition into fall. Not really an easy slip on shoe for me but once on very nice fit.

Great shoe for walking on any terrain sidewalks dirt paths, small rocks. My feet stayed warm and dry in light rain and on our cool fall days. Toe is quite wide which I thought would not be comfortable but not so the Vista slip- on provides good support for my daily 5 miles.

These shoes are very comfortable and stay on well. I have to sit to get them on as they have to be pulled on, but it's great not to have to tie them. These shoes would work well with orthotics and give the stability of a tie shoe.

These are very comfortable. They have a large toe box. They are easy to slip on, but do not slip off when going uphill. I would buy them again.

I read the reviews which cautioned me about these shoes being difficult to put on, but thought I would give them a chance. I am certainly glad I did. I really like them. They are fitted, but I found them comfortable despite feet that swell during the day. They seem well made as well. A good choice, especially for the autumn.

I wasn't sure if I would like these hikers, but they are very comfortable. I was able to wear them almost all day right from the start.

Actually, this was one of my husband's favorites. He
gave me a pair for Christmas and I can agree with him that they are supportive, easy to slip on and has the inside stretch collar that hugs be just below your ankle and keeps stuff from getting down in the shoe when walking/hiking. They are extremely comfortable the minute you put them on. Unfortunately, I think they have been discontinued. I just happened to see this on sale in my size (9.5) and ordered immediately! I'm thrilled to have a backup pair. Please bring these backmen & women's !!!!

I bought my first pair of low Vista hikers several years ago, and while I grew to love them, they took quite awhile to break in. They were really tight in the instep, and I read a number of reviews that mentioned the same issue. Still, I liked them well enough to buy a second pair and I'm so glad that I did!
I just received my new Vista hikers and they are perfect! True to size with zero pinching. They are easy to slip on and super comfortable right out of the box. Thank you LL Bean for always listening to your customers!
