Returned as I could not even slip the boot on my foot. I'm not even sure if I could have put the boot on even if the boot had laces vs. being a slip on. Disappointed. NOTE: I had to mark length & width in order to submit the review. I have no idea how the length & width fit because I COULD NOT PUT THE BOOT ON.

The site said to buy a smaller size than usual which I did. The shoes were too small so I returned them.

I bought these, hoping I could get them on. I have had multi surgeries on my ankle. The tongue being made in one piece with the boot, made it impossible to get on. I could of wore them if the tongue would of been separate like most boots.
These are being returned.

These are very stiff boots. Hard to get into and the snow comes in the top.

This was my first pair of Bean boots and I wanted to love them. The problem is the construction of the boot. The tongue is sewed to the boot making it very difficult to get your foot in. Forget wearing anything but a thin sock. The boot fit perfectly. I usually wear an 8-9 depending on the brand so I ordered an 8. With no lining at all, and stiff leather walking immediately caused blisters. Aside from the look of the boot, there is nothing positive about it. I wanted a tan/blue duck boot and this is the only 8 inch option for women. I would have ordered one of the lined boots if they had my preferred colors. If I'm willing to spend 200 dollars I shouldn't have to settle! I just ordered from a competitor for a fraction of the price.

I don't know why these are so popular. The tongue is attached to the sides where the laces go, so theres no way it can lay flat. It just makes huges bunches on the top of the foot which will absolutely cause blisters. I assume its for waterproofing, but not worth the discomfort. I wear size 6.5 to 7, so on the small side but still within normal adult range. The smallest size they make, 6, is about an inch too long. I am just baffled by these.

I purchased these for my teenaged daughter in 2016. She wore them only once or twice, which I couldn't understand as she had asked for them for Christmas. I recently found them in a closet and tried to put them on myself as I also wear a size 6. Even with a thin sock I had a very difficult time putting them on. I eventually got them on with no sock and pulling hard on the top of the boot!. Once on, the size of the footbed was perfect and even a bit roomy, but there is no way I could get these on with a thicker sock. I don't know if this pair was unusual but the leather upper just seemed too narrow. Even with the laces loose, it was just too narrow. I hope that LL Bean has improved the style since then. Otherwise, be prepared for a battle when you put these on!

I've worn LL Bean boots for decades. As a female upland hunter and dog trainer, I really rely on good footwear. These boots came with low quality leather, that is so stiff, I've had to dump cups of oil and conditioners to try to soften them up. Additionally, the insoles are disgusting, oder holding garbage. Gone are the nice leather insoles that used to be in these boots. My dad would be disappointed and so am I. This isn't the quality I expect from LLBean.

Had to force my foot into boot due to no tongue. My old shearling lined boots have a tongue and I love them. This boot was too short even though I followed the sizing directions. The size sent was not the size ordered. Horribly disappointed as the boot comes in a narrow.

Way over priced, does not keep feet warm or dry. Can't even get my money back because they were worn.

What is happening to L.L. Bean? Not only has your customer service gotten abysmally poor, but your products have become shoddy. Until recently, I was a loyal customer for thirty years.
After years of longing for a pair, I received some classic L.L. Bean boots for Christmas last year. Delighted, eager to try them out as I commuted the length of Vermont each week, I was confident that they would weather anything. Wrong, wrong, wrong.
The boot is NOT waterproof, and the rubberized foot becomes a cooler once the water has seeped in, making for clammy, freezing feet all day. Furthermore, the tread, supposedly excellent on winter terrain, was basically like wearing skis. Slipped and fell often. The shearling around the leather tops is nice, and the leather is supple, but again, not waterproof ( seeps through eyelets) and having warm ankles does not make up for the all- day ice water footbath.
Awful. So disappointed.

Boots look great, but I can not get my foot in the boot with out forcing it in due to the attached tongue. Once in they are also too small. while at the same time too large in the heel. I can't try thicker socks because of the neck. I wear an 8W, checked by other shoe companies who I will not say here. I followed the guidlines and ordered a size down....NOPE. These are going back. For some reason, the only item I have ever been able to keep from this company is my dog's collar. Responsive customer service and I liked the idea of boots made in America, but these won't work. I'm not willing to continue paying for the return shipping just to try on different pairs.

I purchased these boots in-store at the beginning of the month and have since worn them in the rain many times and have noticed that the seam where my toes are is letting water in. I am deeply dissatisfied with my purchase. These are not cheap boots and I expect better from LL Bean.

Every pair of my daughters shoes is a size 8. After reading tons of reviews that said true to size we went with a size 8. It was probably a full 2 sizes too big and now I have to pay for the return. Not a happy customer. Boots seem great just not great customer service to do online sales and not have a return label

My feet have never been so cold wearing these boots in the winter. They are clunky and difficult to lace up. I have tried to break them in...impossible. I feel like I am always tripping. I am a 40 year old mother who needs practical boots to wear out and about in the winter and through the slush and mud in the DC area. I am nervous to go up/down stairs - let alone carry a kid or groceries while doing so. I can't even wear these in the Spring - my feet are always freezing. Perhaps the lined version are better, but if I could return these I would. Total waste of my hard earned money to buy these! No idea what the big deal is with these!!

These boots were so stiff that my daughter was barely able to get them on and certainly couldn't walk in them. I have returned them.

We bought these boots as a 14th birthday anniversary (11/16) gift for our granddaughter and presented them to her a few days early. She was quite pleased with their good fit and LL Bean quality. Beyond that, it's too early to comment.

I bought some blue and tan boots in the 80's and wore them out. Loved them. Finally, Bean offers them again in 2018. I have a long and wide foot, so I think the size was probably fine, but unlike the boots of yesteryear, the "tongue" is now sewn on either side so that there is a minuscule foot entry. There was no way I could get this long and wide foot into the boot. Sadly, I had to return them. While I understand the purpose, (keep snow out), a larger foot cannot wear these. Please think when designing. If you size a large boot, you need to size a larger hole to get into it or preferably, not sew the tongue to the sides.

I was so disappointed in the fit of these boots. I've waited for a long time to buy a pair and they were not worth the wait. I wore them with a regular pair of socks (neither thick nor thin) and by the end of the day I had bloody spots on my ankles and above my ankle area that were raw from wear. At one point I walked around with them untied and open so they wouldn't rub so much, but I doubt I will ever wear these anticipated and let down boots again. They were very uncomfortable. They hurt! Not even sure what to suggest to avoid the issues I had with them. Maybe wrap your ankles or wear thick and heavy socks.

I wanted to love these boots. I had a 6" high pair in college and they were wonderful, but if I had read the 8" version was stitched all of the way to the top (or seen it in photos) I would have saved myself the time and trouble of ordering and then returning. I cannot take 5+ minutes to get one boot on. I would regularly miss the bus home from work if I kept these. Once on, ordering down is a perfect fit, but getting them on is too much of a struggle. Too bad I wasted a coupon and Promotional Gift Card on them.
