I debated over this color boot (ash/orange) as it appeared to be a lookalike to the bison boot. Well it isn't. It is a lookalike to the Maine Hunting Shoe sans the sole color. I truly think that this color is fetching. It is a wonderful brown color and no one would mistake it for the bison. (I had major issues with the bison). It fits perfectly (wear 8 1/2, Bean boot 7) and will go with everything in my wardrobe. The leather is very smooth. I bought about 13 pairs of Bean boots over the winter and not one is as supple as this boot. Saves me time from oiling myself. This color boot is a definite winner. The craftsmanship is outstanding. Looking forward to showing off this one. :)

Had a pair of LLbean boots resoled and it was completely worth it. I didn't see a reason to buy a new pair of boots as they fit and were broken in nicely. Had the boots for 4 + years. LLBean resoled the boots, replaced the tags in the back as they were scuffed and worn off, added new inner soles and shoe strings. Boots look like new and feel great! Reduce, reuse, recycle! Price was reasonable and around $40.

I've had bean boots for years and nothing beats them when it comes to keeping you protected in the winter. They are like snow tires for people.

These are my favorite part about rainy days. Navy blue ones go great with blue jeans and I don't have to mess up my tennis shoes. I'm a nurse anesthetist and I'll even sport these in the OR with shoe covers. I'll own a pair or more of these boots as long as I live!

I purchased these boots about 5 years ago, in black, size 9D. They look like I just started wearing them, even though I have worn them regularly each year in inclement weather. I have a wide foot, and wear heavy wool socks in the winter. I often wear an 8 wide in shoes, and the extra room gives me comfort and enough warmth. These boots are great. I just wore them, when I was out walking through the snow, sleet, and freezing rain of the Nor'easter in NYC, while my feet kept warm and dry. I was sure-footed through the snow, slush and rain puddles. Although the the boots feel fine, I just added an extra insole for more comfort. The price has gone up, but I would still highly recommend these boots, and would purchase them again. Please LLB, make more shoes and boots in wide widths for women. Keep on making these wonderful boots.

I love my new boots! It's impirtant to note that you have to order a FULL SIZE SMALLER than you regularly order. They did not have my size in wide at the store so I ordered online and received them within 3 days. It has been a stormy mess up here in Massachusetts this month and boy have these boots come in handy! My only regret is that I did not buy them years ago!

I normally wear an 8.5 - 9 in shoes, and I was a little unsure about what size to order, but after reading all the reviews I ordered an 8 and they fit perfectly. They're pretty comfortable, and I can tell the leather will soften with wear. I'm excited to finally own a pair of iconic L.L.Bean boots!

Happy with these boots, they were a little hard to get on at first, but after a couple of wearings they fit just right with heavy socks. Hope they will be as durable as the old pair I had many years ago.

Boots fit as expected based on sizing chart (I wear a 7.5-8 normally, so I got a 7 LLBean Boot and always wear them with thick wool socks). I have a relatively wide foot, but the regular width boot works perfectly for me. I wear them regularly for walking on town roads, through snow, and rocky hikes. Extremely pleased with fit, comfort, style, and waterproof material. The rubber soles wear quickly on heavy use (I easily walk 5-10 miles in them daily on various terrain). My only disappointment is that I bought this brand for its reputation and specifically because of the lifetime warranty, which the company revoked less than a month after my purchase.

I had bought a pair of Bean Boots back in high school, but I always found them too be waaay too big. So when, on a trip out East, I decided to pick up a new pair so as to combat the winter weather, I followed Bean's suggestion to order a full size down. Because I wear a men's 7.5 D (medium) in dress shoes, this meant ordering a size 6 D. However, the smallest men's size offered in this boot is a 7, so I checked the blogs online and contacted Bean for advice on what size to order. After trying on different options in the store, I decided to go with a women's size 8 D, the women's sizes running about two numbers larger than the men's sizes. The boots fit me perfectly, wearing thin (over-the-calf wool-blend dress) socks, which is what I plan to wear with these boots. Note that I found the boots to be cold in <40F temperatures; but I'm OK with that, as I don't plan to stand in the cold for extended periods, and I can wear them year-round without overheating. My one complaint about the boots is that I found the leather to be pretty stiff out of the box, such that the right boot rubbed a blister on my ankle where the tongue doubled over when lacing up, and I had to wear a bandage over the sore for a couple weeks. But after breaking them in, I am delighted with the boots! One other thing: although I like the look of the tan leather as-is, and have had no problems, after a month, with water leaking in at the seams, I do plan to apply a couple coats of a beeswax-based product so as to keep the leather supple and add some waterproofing. Overall, an excellent product -- and made in the USA as well... what's not to love?!

Have been loving these boots for the past couple of weeks in this middle Georgia rain. Once the leather softens up, these are the most comfortable "weather" boots you will wear. My normal shoe size is 8 but i ordered a 7 in these and they fit perfectly. Also, getting them on sale was a huge bonus. I highly recommend these boots.

Boot is a great fit and height. It does run large. I usually wear an 8 and ordered a 7 and it fits great. They are not very insulated but perfect for quick trips out in the snow or rain.

Love the shoes, they're super comfortable, warm and waterproof. Used them for sledding a couple of times and they didn't have a single scratch from trying to stop with my boots. Really durable! I'm a 7 1/2 and I ordered an 8 which still is a little bigger than I would want, but I just wear really think socks with it.

Shoes are great. If you're worried about the size, or a size down from your normal size. You'll be able to wear thick socks too, don't worry about that. If you get your normal size, the shoe would be ENORMOUS. Don't bother.

Received my bean boots for Christmas. They were larger than I expected. It was a smooth transition in returning and reordering my boots. I love them. Comfortable, high quality and I will definitely order from LL Bean again soon.

I got these for my daughter , who is in high school and wanted them last year. She got them this year for Christmas and wears them all the time. Last year they sold out right before Christmas. Thank you for having the most comfortable and stylish boots for my teenage daughter.

That being said classic Bean boots usually run huge. It did made me very nervous before purchasing. Because I wear exactly size 5.5 sandals and 6 sports shoes and hiking/working boots. The smallest size of women Bean boots is 6. On one hand, I was not confident whether they would look good on me. (the biggest concern of me was that I might end up making myself looking clowny in those beautiful boots) On the other, I really like the navy color of the women's version, which unfortunately isn't carried among kids' boots. I finally decided to give women's boots a try last week when LLBeans had those boots included in its winter sale. And I'm not disappointed. Although I'd say the inside of Bean boots does feel a bit long (not narrow). But I am happy to find that is easy to be fixed with my wool shoe pads and hiking socks. Once they are lanced up, they feel super comfortable and look pretty! I do have owned a pair of Sperry saltwater boots as well so I couldn't help but compared those two. First off, the Bean boots are having a more slender, curvy, and womanly look (both pairs are size 6) which I personally prefer better. While you can't call the Sperry saltwater boots "bulky" but they do look more husky comparing to Bean boots. Maybe because Sperry runs wider? Both my pairs are M in widths. Secondly, the color combination of Bean boots is a no brained winner to me. They are more stylish and brighter, though not too exaggerated. Just about the right and more beautiful than the Sperry pair. Third, Beans are much more comfortable to me. I don't know why but the Sperry boots hurts my foot when I sit/lay down at a certain angle. Beans' don't have that issue at all. Even though I didn't buy any insulation version of Bean boots, they are warm enough to me for the winter (I'm in Texas) These are my first Bean boots. And it is a very happy buy! Thank you LLBean for creating such wonderful boots!

Love Love Love these boots!! I normally wear a size 10 1/2 but from reading other reviews I ordered down and got a 9 and they fit perfectly, I also got them in narrow and they fit my foot like a glove. Perfect for walking around a college campus when it's cold and snowy! They do come stiff at first but I've been wearing them for about two weeks now and they feel much more comfortable to get on and off. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a comfortable winter boot that is also super stylish!!

I have been lusting over these boots for YEARS now and finally received them as a Christmas gift this year. I immediately put them on and pretty much haven't taken them off for 2 weeks straight. I live in Ireland where it's always damp and these are the PERFECT boots for our weather. They've kept my feet completely dry in all the drizzle and even when I accidentally got too close to the water on the beach and a wave rushed up on me - I was standing in 6 inches of salt water and had completely dry feet! Paired with a good thick pair of Irish wool socks, they are also warm and toasty. They break in quickly which is lovely. The first day I wore them they were rubbing a little on the back of my ankle but 10 days later, they're already broken in and don't rub anymore. If you've been considering these for a long time like I had been, BUY THEM. They are perfection. If I could give them 7 out of 5 stars, I would!

We purchased these for Christmas for our 16 year old granddaughter and she loves them. They fit fine and she has now broken them in a bit. She has worn them just about every day since Christmas, what else can we say.
