As with all Bean Boots, you will want to order a half-size down. I generally wear an 8.5 and the 8 is perfect in these. I bought the thinsulate-lined Bean Boots in tan/brown last fall and wore them almost every day through fall and winter, so now that it has warmed up, I decided that I had to have the regular Bean Boot. I am delighted with my purchase! I got the tan/navy color this time and I really like the slight royal hue of the navy. I treated the leather before the first wear like I did with my winter Bean Boots (they have held up extremely well, and I want the same for these). I was caught in a downpour the other day and my feet stayed nice and dry. I could not be more pleased and recommend Bean Boots to anyone.

I have two pairs of Bean boots, the brown and tan 6" boots and the navy and tan 8" boots. They are so comfortable and classic, that I wear them all the time with my skinny jeans and LL Bean sweaters with a flannel plaid zip up Bean hoodie over it in cold weather. I am 69 years old, and my husband and I have been buying and wearing LL Bean clothing and footwear since we were in our 20's. Love the LL Bean classic style. The only negative thing about the 8" boots, is that the laces really are not long enough to use the top lace holes in the boots, which is strange.

My mom had Bean boots when me and my siblings were growing up. When our feet stopped growing we could get a pair. I got my first pair a few years ago and I cannot express how much I love them. They survived trudging through floods of hurricanes, through snow, and all weather. These are my every day boot. I have the regular pair and I love them to pieces. I recommend them to all of my friends and are a fabulous investment.

This is the first time since high school that I've bought a pair of the Original Bean boots. I absolutely love them! They seem to be warmer than I remember. I did order the fleece inserts for them but they make them too tight, but if I wear heavy socks they are plenty warm. I love the navy blue! I would highly recommend these boots!

I love these boots. I got the classic tan leather and brown rubber because I was going to a snowy area for a week. These boots are the most comfortable shoes I own and durable. I walked in them all day, everyday for a week and my feet never hurt. The shape of these boots is really good because the ankle height keeps the boot from moving too much while you walk, but the tall toe of the boot allows you to wrinkle your toes a little if you get chilly. I wore them to walk around town and on a construction site. When I got them a little dirty, I was able to easily wash them off. Follow the instructions for choosing size because I normally wear a 7, but the size six fit well with athletic/warmer socks. This should be no surprise, but you have to wear higher socks with these or they will slowly fall off while you walk. Make sure you have a day or two to break in the leather before you actually need them because it takes a little effort to get everything situated well with the laces. I had to tie my boots a few times each time I put them on for the first few days before they felt right on my feet.

The boots are everything I hoped for. I will never need to purchase another pair of boots (for myself) in my lifetime.

Works and fits as advertised. LL Bean quality is always excellent.

I am beyond thrilled to have my own Bean Boots! I ordered 1/2 size down from my normal 6 1/2 at the advice of a friend who wears the exact size as I do and owns a pair herself. I couldn't be happier nor more in love with my purchase!!

I know the more I wear my boots the more they will "break-in". They are just a bit uncomfortable and I might need thicker socks to protect my lower shin.

These boots are so cute! I have a pair of the shearling-lined tumbled leather and those are AMAZING! Nice and warm, and the leather is already soft and supple right out of the box. I loved the look of them so much, I had to get the classic un-lined version to wear when winter is over. The "classics" aren't nearly as soft when brand new, but I've applied mink oil to the leather to help soften and waterproof. I'm looking forward to wearing these often to break them in so the leather looks and feels as soft as my tumbled leather pair. Happy that with these two pairs of Bean Boots I'll be lookin' good year round! :) As for sizing, I wear a Keds 10 and a Converse 8-8.5, and I'm happy with the fit of my size 10 Bean Boots when wearing a heavy wool sock. The size 9 Bean boot would have been too small.

Boots are as described. I bought a size smaller than my normal size and they fit great! The only issue I have is the shoelaces are not long enough to lace up to the top hole. They need to be 6"- 8" longer.

I was in the market for new boots about a month ago because I wanted winter boots to wear around campus that are light weight and for multiple seasons. Therefore, these LL Bean boots are perfect for those who live in the upper United States. These states tend to experience all four seasons. The boots can be used throughout the year instead of confined to just a month or two. These boots are also ideal for college students because they provide style and usability. All college students understand that it's hard to wear heavy winter boots around campus to get where you need to go. There's a few criteria I used when evaluating these boots: usability, warmth/ durability, fit, and weight. Usability: The usability of the boots is outstanding. You can use them as light snow boots or as rain boots when the snow melts and spring is upon us. You can generally wear them with any outfit because they can be used for straight style or for boots needed for the current weather. With it being winter, you should expect the same performance as any other winter boots you may own. Warmth/ Durability: When it comes to warmth and durability, these boots are excellent. In the month I've owned these boots, my feet have never gotten cold or wet, even in negative 40 degree weather. You should expect no water to seep in from the toe/ foot area and when laced up snow won't come into the boot at the top because of the leather the boots are made with. You can expect the boots to be tough at first and difficult to lace up but, they just need to be broken in. Fit: Make sure you follow the guideline posted on the site when it comes to fit. These boots do run large. I ordered a full size down from my normal and I can still wear thick socks for an easy fit. Just make sure to follow the guideline posted on the site and the shoes should fit great. Weight: Normally, you would expect nice winter boots to be heavy because traditionally heavy means durable; however, these boots are not that way. They are slightly heavier than a normal tennis shoe, but nowhere close to an actual winter snow boot. The light weight of the boot is one of my favorite aspects because I have to go from one side of campus to the other end and I wouldn't be able to get there on time with 10 pounds of shoe of my feet. Therefore, the boots are light enough for you to feel like you can still walk at your normal pace. Overall, the boots are very usable for differing weather conditions and for the wants of the user. The boots keep your feet dry, warm, and are light weight. This is why I rate them a 5 out of 5. They truly meet all my needs and I'm confident that, if you're in the market for new boots, they can meet your needs as well.

Great boots overall for rain, snow, anything! They run large as I am normally a women's 9 but purchased a women's 8. For extra warmth and comfort I suggest purchasing shearling insoles and thicker socks. I was looking for a good quality boot that offers comfort, warmth and style something that I could wear throughout the year - extremely happy with my purchase!

I am usually a size 9 but I followed the sizing advice and ordered an 8. They are tight to get on (I have to loosen the laces to get them off) but I don't mind it because they fit well once I tie them up again. I wore these with thin alpaca socks and also thick LL Bean boot socks and I find they still fit either way. I've had these boots in the cold, through several inches of snow, a bit if mud, and also rain. My feet stayed warm and dry. I'm new to LL Bean's products, this is my third purchase since December and everything has been awesome and as described!

The boots are great! Well made, very sharp looking, durable and exactly as described. Originally ordered a size too small. LL Bean customer sevice was the best I have ever experienced! NO LIE! I got the new boots, shipped the other ones back with NO hassle. I was very impressed and will stay a faithful customer!

I got these as a gift for Christmas and I absolutely love them!! They're great for rainy days but they're also stylish to wear even when its not raining. I got the brown ones in size 8 and they fit great. I normally wear a size 9 in other types of shoes. They are a quality product and I definitely recommend them! Thanks!

Bought to replace the pair I bought for my daughter when she was in college 20 plus years ago.Ordered wrong color.She had to have blue.Tongue is different from old pair but not a problem.She is not planning to throw old ones away.As far as she's concerned they're the best.

I followed the directions for sizing by the company and by the reviews of others and my boots fit me perfectly!! I have wanted them forever and they are worth the money!! I wear them all the time. Love them!

These boots are really well made. I downsized as suggested however they are hard to get on. Once you get them on they are comfortable. I read another review that stated the same thing. I think if they were made in half sizes that would eliminate the problem. I'll give them another week or so to see if getting them on gets easier or I may have to exchange for a larger size.

Purchased these boots for a December/January trip to Switzerland and Germany. Worked great in the snow. Follow LL Bean instructions on sizing.

After years of wearing a run down winter boot, I needed a change. This shoe is just the quality I was looking for. God bless L.L.Bean
