Excellent waterproof. Buy a smaller size; I wear 71/2 or 8, but the 6 fits well with room for warm socks. The only reason I didn't rate five stars is that the laces are absurdly stiff and easily come undone.

I returned these because they were too large. I usually wear a size 6 boot but on advice of previous reviewers ordered a size 5, the smallest size LLBean makes. These size 5 are probably a true size 7. I can't understand the sizing problems as these boots are made in Maine as should be able to be corrected by the quality control department.

Bought this shoe in fall 2015. Originally bought my size 9, but too big. Sent it back for an 8. Heel still slipped. Tried a 7. No dice too small. Back to an 8. Tried tightening the laces, heel still slipped and the tongue got too balled up from tightening. Finally pulled out insole. Perfect. Turns out the heel of the insole is too thick and pushed my heel too high, causing the slipping. It feels like a real shoe now that I'm inside the shoe instead of feeling like I'm on top of (it'll make sense if you have heel slippage and remove the insole). I will wear socks with mine so I may not try to replace the insole with something thinner.
I also thought the laces were incredibly long. Trimmed about 3" off each end and it's much better looking.

I am usually a true 6-1/2 so originally I ordered a size 7. At first I thought that maybe this was a mans size 7 since it was so large, really big. I then ordered a size 6 and the shoe is still a little big on my foot. I like the shoe so I did keep it.

I wanted these for casual wear, but I'm returning to find something a little more polished. However, they are quality mocs. I typically wear a size 8 to 8 1/2 in regular width, and would probably order a 9 to allow for heavier socks. I ordered a size 7 medium after reading reviews. They JUST fit my foot, leaving no room for medium or heavy socks. If keeping, I would reorder in size 8. The width was fine for me. I didnt wear them, so can't really comment on the fit of the heel as others have - I didnt notice an issue.

I would suggest trying on a pair before purchasing, if you can. I'm a size 8, but ended up buying a 6; also take into consideration the type of socks that you may wear with them, as the website says. Other than that, it's a lovely shoe that's practical and looks good.

So excited to get my mocs. Quality and craftsmanship is perfection. Style is wonderful and iconic. Fit perfectly with one major exception. They were entirely too long. About 1.5" gap from my heel to the heel of the shoe. How odd. I've never had a foot "issue" before with any type of outdoor footwear. Had to return with apparently no hope of having a highly coveted pair of mocs. If I did not have this issue, it would definitely be five stars for this moc.

I ordered a pair to replace my very old ones that have been my go to garden shoe for years. My usual size was huge. I understand they changed their sizing years ago. They no longer make the size 5 (which is actually a 6) in navy. I had to return the shoe. I have tried to buy their adorable rain boots also, but too big.
I hope they make a batch of smaller sizes, not everyone needs a huge shoe.

I love the quality of the Bean Boots, and the fit is great once you find what fits. I am normally am a size 9 shoe, but ordered the 8 and it is still a bit too large. I recommend sizing down at least one size, maybe two if you have a narrow foot. These shoes have great arch support, and I definitely recommend them for all of those April showers.

Have always wanted these. Tried both the 6" boot and the moc but had to send them back. They seemed well constructed; just didn't fit my feet correctly and both rubbed ankle/just below ankle on my right foot to the point of being uncomfortable. Front of boots fit fine; heels were way too big. Returns were handled in a reasonable timeframe. Wish LL Bean had more US products and no China products and would say what country product was imported from, not just "imported". I would shop there more if I knew product was not made in China.

I would give these boots 5 stars except it took me two purchases to get the right size. I normally wear a size 9, so I followed their advice and ordered an 8. Too big! I gave those boots to my daughter who wears a 9.5 and they are slightly big for her. I then ordered a size 7. Much better fit. Not perfect, but close. I love these boots because I can just slip them on to take my two little dogs outside for their breaks in the Colorado snow.

Not happy with your new return policy. Cannot imagine anyone saving their receipt (and packaging?) for a year. If I returned your mocs, it would be immediate due to fit, etc., but if, say in a month or so,they developed a leak or a split of some sort, I sure would not have a receipt. The product is the best!

Size down is all I can say. Usually wear a women's 7 had to size down. Usually wear wide - these are okay.
I need a shoe horn to get into them - I am hoping this will end eventually as I cannot get into them without hurting toes - with the shoe horn it is okay at home this is okay I leave it in them so its there - handy for mud low snow amount to just go out in

I got these shoes for taking the dogs out or walking to the mailbox. They're easy to slip on and great for messy weather. I read other reviews and ordered a size smaller than I normally wear. They slip a bit in the heels, but I'm not wearing them to walk long distances. Just what I needed.

I'm a size 8 with a regular width but finally ended up with a 6 wide to get the right fit. Customer service was very good about the exchange.

I have a wide foot and high arch, so I felt comfortable getting the wide size of the rubber moc. I ordered my normal length. The boots were way too big and I don't live in an area where I would wear thick enough socks to compensate for the space. I've wanted a pair of these boots for a long time and I took advantage of a sale plus a $10 coupon to get them. I gave them to my daughter as she wears a larger size than I do and they fit her feet. I'll continue to watch for another "deal" on LLBean to get my own, smaller pair. I have always been pleased with my LLBean purchases and look forward to the perfect fit and price for me.

I ordered these shoes because I have always like the style of them. I ordered a ladies size 7. However, they were too big. When I went to exchange them, I was told they don't come in a smaller size. I ended up buying a different pair of shoes, but was a little disappointed.

These are great easy-on, easy-off shoes for tramping around on sloppy wet ground. However, Bean's recent re-design of the sizing has left it very difficult to figure out how to get a good fit, especially if you don't have access to a physical Bean store and have to rely on mail-order.
I got these to replace a 25-year-old pair and, even though I followed the published advice to buy a size down, took a couple of tries before I finally got a reasonably-fitting pair. (And they're still not close in fit to my old ones.) The toes are still a little long, and the heel is quite loose. They're great for walking the dog and short trips, but I wouldn't want to have to walk long distances in them. (I'm investigating heel guards.)
It's a shame Bean doesn't make this style in Kids' sizes, as I probably would have had better luck there. (I wear a women's size 7-7.5, ended up with a 6, and they're still pretty roomy.) Reading through other reviews, many others have had similar experiences.
Suggestions to Bean:
(1) Re-label the sizing on this line so that they are true to size, like you're other footwear.
(2) Waive return shipping fees for the Bean Boot line, since it looks like hardly anyone gets it right the first time.
(3) Make this style available in Kids' size ranges, so that those of us with smaller feet have an option for buying them.
All that said, though, once you get the sizing figured out, they're very useful outdoor shoes.

Love these, heel is wide even after buying a heel guard. Very comfortable otherwise. Appreciate that they were available in a wide width. Disappointed and frustrated that they went on sale just a few days after receiving them, kinda ruined the shoes for me.

Although my heel still slips a little, I am pleased with the sizing on the mocs. I rarely find shoes in narrow sizes and I think the size down advice was right on! I wear a 10 shoe and sometimes size down if they run big to try to accommodate for the narrowness. Because I was able to get the AA width, I ordered a 9 and they worked!

Women's L.L.Bean Boots, Rubber Moc not the same quality, but I still like them. "I did not listen to other reviews about boots running bigger". Purchased a size 7 & I have to wear heavy socks with the boots & they still are a little big.

I love my bean boots. I'd love to see the shoe in a different color, like the limited edition black/cream boots I own

I have bought the Rain Mocs in size 8N. I followed the instructions for wearing with mid-thickness socks. I normally wear size 9N or 9S, so I sized downward. The fit is good with athletic socks or slightly heavier socks, but not with very heavy socks. The narrowness of the shoe wouldn't allow a very heavy sock. The mocs fit overall like a pair of clogs - slightly loose at the heel so that they sort of slip out as you walk (like a clog). I haven't worn these mocs yet, as I bought them on sale and are holding them for spring/summer wear. I already have a pair of Bean Boots in size 9N that I wear now in the winter.

Love these boots. They are my go-to, running out of the house, picking up the kids slip-ons. Super comfortable. My usual size is a women's 9, so per other reviews (and previous experience with this boot), I sized down and ordered an 8. They fit well and are easy to slip on/off hands-free, though my heel slips in normal socks. Should I get the shearling insole inserts? May try.
Overall, great quality and highly recommend. Just size down one full size.
