I recently purchased duck boots for my wife. Because the sizes tend to run large, and because LLBean offers no half sizes, I ordered size 6 and size 7. Both were listed as back ordered, the size 6 for shipping on January 4. The size 7 pair arrived sooner than expected, and were, predictably, too large. They have been returned, and we now await delivery of the size 6 pair. There are two things I find disturbing: First is the lack of half sizes. This only invites blisters that come of wearing shoes that don't fit properly. Second, given that LLBean has known since this time a year ago that duck boots have become extremely popular among young people, they should have increased production to meet the expected demand without the need to put us on back order.

I was disappointed when I received my shoes in the mail as they were almost 2 sizes too big. I ordered a 7, normally wear a 7.5 in a shoe and the shoes would not stay on. They were both too long and too wide. I took them back to the store and tried a 6 but they were also huge. I really wanted to like these. I hope LL Bean addresses these sizing issues since they advertise such good quality "handmade" work.

The sizing is way off. I am consistently an 8 or 8.5 however the 8 was huge so I then ordered a 7 and that was way to wide and still to big so I gave up and sent the other pair back I guess I am not meant to have a pair.

No matter how I tied these, my feet wouldn't stay in them when I walked. I literally could not keep them on my feet, even though my toes were almost touching the front so they were definitely the right size. I sent them back immediately and would not recommend them to anyone.

I ordered these is a size 6, the size of shoe I wear. They were very large even with two pairs of medium weight socks. I returned them hoping to find a smaller size because I really wanted to replace the pair of the same size that I have had since for a number of years. I find it odd that over the years a size 6 is not a size 6 anymore. Anyway, I was told that was the smallest size in women's that they made. When I inquired about a possible children's size that might work I was told that they don't make the moc in children's. So I guess I am out of luck. I with their sizing had stayed consistent overs the years but I guess they, like other retailers have had changes in manufacturing specs over the years. I would have loved to have had another pair of these but I guess I will have to look elsewhere for something similar.

My wife wears a size 7 or 7 and one-half size shoe. As per instructions we bought a size 6. They are way too big and the shoe is unavailable in sizes smaller. Wonder if they are mislabeled or actually run THAT much larger than normal. Very disappointing.

I really wanted to keep these cute rubber mocs. I wear a 9-1/2 M and ordered a 9M. After inserting a pair of wool liners in them, the length was good -- not too big. But as soon as I took a few steps, I realized there was nothing I could do about my heel pulling up and out of them with every step. These are way too wide at the heel. I will regretfully have to send them back.

The mocks are well made and would probably last a long time if only they fit! I wear a size 6 and it was huge on me, with sox. That's the smallest size they carry so I had to return them.

I have been searching for something to wear on a snowy sidewalk with salt, which becomes very slippery here in NYC. Since I have a pair of sneakers in size 10 that fit, I ordered a size 10 W of these. They were enormously too big.

I have a fairly average foot size of 6.5 but apparently I can't have shoes like this because the sizing is so large and nothing smaller than 6 is offered. Doesn't make sense to me.

I had a pair of these years ago (long since gone), and decided I would splurge on myself to get a new pair to deal with the muddy and wet spring. I used the sizing guide and ordered a size 8 (as I normally wear a size 9). The shoe was still long and wide (with medium weight socks), but I could have lived with that. The real problem was the fit. The arch support was in the wrong place for my foot and hurt. The rear of the right show rubbed my heel very painfully with only a few steps. The leather tongue (as someone else mentioned) is too long and just gets in the way. These will be going back. :(

I'm about to return a second pair of the rubber mocs because they are the wrong size.. too big. I wear a size 7M. I consider my foot true to size. I followed instructions and ordered a 6 M and they are too big and very wide. My foot swims in them. I really like the look and the presumed function of these mocs but acquiring the right size has been quite frustrating for me. I don't want to pay shipping for a 3rd try on when there's a possibility that they just won't fit. Perhaps consult a sales person when ordering to get the right size.

Ordered size 8. Shoes cut like a 9. When returned to retail store tried a size 7-too big. Tried size 6 - too small. Mocs not available in half sizes. So no sale and disappointed.

I loved my (very) old LL Bean rain shoes and tried to replace them with these lovely-looking shoes. My old ones were size 5. I now wear size 6. These start with a size 6 that is actually a size 7 & WAY too big. Several years ago, LL Bean discontinued size 5 shoes for women, but starting with a size 7 (even if it's called a size 6) really is frustrating for those of us who have smaller feet. Is everything super-sized now? Please make these in a real size 6! Many women would appreciate it!

Why on earth would a company oversize a boot so the customer has no idea what size to buy without trying them on. Got these in the mail today and they are very nice but my normal size 8 I can put my whole hand in the back of the shoe when they are on my foot. I would have no idea what size to buy without trying them on. Fit is usually not a problem with me if it's an 8 it fits if sized properly. These are huge. Wide and long. Wouldn't it make more sense to size them properly and advise the customer to go one size up if wearing with heavy socks. I bet a ton of these are sent back because they don't fit. I have read in reviews that people put in padding etc. To get them to fit. That's ridiculous. Size them correctly to begin with.

Was so happy to see this shoe came in narrow Unfortunately the only narrow part was the instep. Heel way too wide and shoe slips off when walking. Very disappointed and sending them back.

I have two other pairs of Bean Boots and love them! I was really excited about getting these. I wear 9 so ordered 8. Boots were about 1 1/2 inches too long, front part felt narrow, back was so big they flopped even with thick socks. I'm so sorry they don't fit! They will have to go back and with no alternative.

I bought a pair of these rubber moccasins years ago in the US and wore them for years until the soles gave out. I have tried 2 pairs of the rubber moccasins and have not been satisfied with either purchase. It's obvious the design has changed for the worse. The first pair were too large. My shoe size is 7 1/2 or 39. I followed the sizing guide on the webpage which advised to order a 1/2 size smaller unless the intention was to wear the shoes with thick socks. I normally wear thick socks so I ordered a size 8. The moccasins were too large. I gave this pair to charity since the cost of shipping both directions is the same as the cost of a new pair of shoes. I persevered and ordered a second in size 7. The second pair fits very well in the length and width, but the back of the heel is too low which allows my foot to slip out. If it were available I would estimate that I would probably fit well into a 6 1/2. Also the tonge is ackward and does not easily tuck into the shoe. The previous design was able to lace up two holes to provide a snug fit around the top of the foot. Unfortunately the cost of shipping is not worth returning either pair of shoes. I will not purchase this style again or recommend.

I typically wear size 6.5 - 7 shoes, ordered a size 6 per recommendations, and the length and width were perfect. However, the shoes are shaped like a moccasin; that is, instead of forming a dip where the ankle bone is located, the sides are horizontal so they --- at least on me ---- hit the bone with every step. The rubber material is very stiff, so I decided that even very thick socks wouldn't cushion the impact, and I returned the shoes.

I normally wear a size 6. These size 6's were so large, even with socks (2pair), that I was able to walk right out of them. No smaller size was available. At least I was able to return them at no cost.

Cute, yes. But....They say these are made to fit warm socks in the winter, but even with 2 pairs of wool socks they still are too large. They should be called "boat shoes" for how much my feet are swimming in them. The sizing is so far out of whack I'm not sure what size will fit and don't want to pay for more back and forth shipping. I really want to love them, but sadly they are a total fail.

I had read other reviews and thought by tightening the laces the boot would fit. Unfortunately I could not get the boot to fit correctly. My heel kept slidding out of the boot. They were returned.

These are made very good BUT I ordered one size down a 10m, too short and narrow so I ordered a 11W, too wide. THEN I ordered a 11M, my true size. These fit but the heel is made to flop off with each step. These shoes brought out a horrible heel spur that has been dormant for years. I'm still in pain. Had to send these back too. They are so cute, I really wanted them. LL Bean customer service was great.

Love them, comfortable easy to put on. Actually have 2 pairs, one for work when it's snowy or rainy and the other when I take the dogs for a walk.
