I purchased this same moccasin several years ago in the same size. These are not the same moccasins that they use to have, even thought they have the same name. The heel is so large now that my foot walks right out of it. The heel is now a square shaped, not tapered to fit your foot. It would help if llbean put a notice in red on their website that they have changed the design of the moccasin. I ordered thinking I was getting the same moccasin that I had for several years and finally needed to replace. The heels on this new design are horrible. The prior style of these moccasins was great and lasted for years. These are not wearable. If you order them, prepare to pay for returning these horrible moccasins.

These were my favorite shoes, I wore them every season, even in the (low) snow! I recently exchanged my old ones for a new pair and sadly, the design was altered and the price went up $20. The way it is photographed hides the changes, but it looks and feels like a waterproof slipper now. There is only a single layer of leather on top and the tightening mechanism was somehow ineffective. Very sad to see this design change, it's just no longer a great shoe.

Looking to replace my current LL Bean rubber tie shoes which I love but that style is no longer available. Wanted to love the rubber moc but sadly had to return them. I normally wear a size 7, so on the advice of reviews and the sizing chart, I ordered a 6. They were so huge I could walk right out of them and there is no size 5 available. Very disappointed.

I had these when I was younger and worked around horses and they worked out well. Since my daughter is riding, I thought I'd get a pair. I did order a size down based on the reviews and that worked. However, I normally wear a 7 wide so I ordered a 6 wide and the were enormously wide so back they went. I didn't re-order because the leather trim around the top of the shoe is sewn inside the shoe and has almost 1/2" drop of the leather all the way around the sides and back of the heel. It was constantly rubbing my heel and side of my foot I knew I would have terrible cuts and blisters. I don't understand why the leather wasn't rolled over and sewn into the top part of the shoe so it won't rub the sides/heel of the foot. There should be NO extra leather flopping around inside the shoe! Unless the design changes, I don't recommend.

These aren't the standard of previous LLBean boots. Cheaply made. Tight in the front, wide in the back, no way to get a proper fitting. Impossible to buy on line with such poor fit.

I was so excited about these shoes and they are unbearably uncomfortable. Sized down a whole size like everyone recommended. Length and width were fine but the heal and stiff leather made them impossible to wear. Could barely stand to walk around my house in them when I received them, I couldn't imagine what they would do to my heels if I tried to endure them a whole day. Very disappointed in these shoes.

I know these boots are one of Bean's best sellers and most popular items but the fit is poor. I ordered one size smaller than my usual size and the boot was too big. I returned them to my local store and tried on the next smaller size and it was too short. No more boots for me.

I ordered my regular sz 9. WAY TOO BIG ! Went down to an 8. Still too big, and the laces are just for show. They don't tie the shoe snuggly to your foot. I gave up and sent them back for refund. However, each return will cost me $6.50, so I've paid $13.00 to try on shoes that are mis-sized badly !

Bought 3 pairs of these high quality mocs for my daughters and wife. All girls wear a size 8 in all their shoes. Per site bought one size smaller-7. The size 7's were huge-paid to return then and got size 6's. They fit better, but were slightly large-kept them b/c are great mocs. However, if you can't build them to 1/2 size or even a whole size of advertised size you have real quality control problems. You need to up your game.

Had a pair of Bean rubber mocs years ago and loved them, but these are simply not the same.......very disappointed. The greatest disappointment is the sizing. After taking all sizing suggestions under consideration, the shoes are still at least 2 sizes too large. Will be returning and looking for alternatives.

I was really hoping to get a pair of bean boots, but all of them were sold out in my size so decided to order these instead. I read the special note about sizing (how they fit large). I normally wear a size 9W and I chose to order an 8W. These shoes are still way too big. They wouldn't even stay on my feet. I would exchange for a smaller size but I can tell I probably still wouldn't like them. They are very uncomfortable. The sole is hard and they rub by pinky toe.

These have been returned due to a very wide heel. I bought a size smaller, per other reviews, and that did give me the correct length, but the heel is so wide that they would not stay on. The overall sizing of the shoe is poor.

I read all the reviews and size suggestions for the rubber moc. Still didn't fit. I do have a high arch and the shoe was too tight both in length and height. It would have been hard to tie the laces. I thought I'd get it in men's next time but the customer service rep didn't have any useful information for me to try and order the right size. I didn't want to pay an additional $6.50 on the return fee so I won't order anything else from LL Bean which is a size. I don't like that the only way I get free return shipping is to be a LL Bean VISA member. It's too bad. I like LL Bean products but don't live any where that there's a LL Bean store so it's too costly to order and not get it right the first time. I really wanted these shoes.

I have been an LLBean customer for many years and normally love their products. I have even purchased their rubber Mocs on numerous previous occasions. These particular Mocs are, despite their attractive appearance, a DISASTER. Per LLBean's recommendation, I ordered a size smaller than I normally wear. The Mocs they sent me were ENORMOUS! I exchanged this pair for the next size smaller. The second pair were also HUGE. I exchanged the second pair for a third pair in an even smaller size. The third pair were too small! I do not live near an LL Bean store or a UPS drop off center, so $30.00 in return shipping fees later, I still do not have a new pair of rubber Mocs. The sizing on these shoes is obviously a manufacturer defect. LL Bean should not be selling these mocs when they know there are significant sizing issues. I am hugely disappointed in a store that my family has been patronizing for more than 40 years. I would even go so far as to say, I feel betrayed by LL Bean. Very disappointing!

I REALLY wanted a pair of these classic shoes to wear in the wet Seattle winters. I ordered and retuned 5 different pairs of varying lengths and widths as not one fit. I understand the heel is supposed to slip a bit, but I felt they just were too odd in fit and unhappily have go without this winter.

I already have a LL Bean boot(Rubber) in size 6, so when I ordered the slip on I ordered a size 6, did not fit, way too big. BIG SURPRISE, they don't make a size 5. Really disappointed. Could not believe the size difference in a lace up boot(rubber) and slip on. My daughter wears a size 8 and the size 6 fit her. Come on LLBEAN, let make a size 5 in ladies or make your boots and shoes more consistant in size.

I ordered these to wear to the barn on days I don't ride. Have wanted them for years, but was nervous about mail order shoes since you can't try them on beforehand. I ordered the size down as instructed, but they are still huge! I've worn the thickest socks I own and even worn two pairs, on occasion. And I'm not sure if it's the fact that they're so huge that makes them incredibly uncomfortable or if they're just not comfortable shoes, but I am so disappointed!!! They physically hurt my feet. Maybe it's just my feet (I do have a high arch), because I know these are wildly popular, but they have not worked for me. They DO seem very well made, though. I feel like they'd last for years....if I could only wear them. : (

If you have a narrow foot, this is not the boot shoe for you. Even the "narrow" runs large. The heel part of the shoe ( not the heel on the bottom) is too wide. Otherwise, the shoe looked good. It was heavy. The leather ties were worthless for adjusting the tightness of the fit. I had to send this shoe back because the width problem. I even ordered the narrow and had to send it back also because of the width of the heel.

Disappointed in this style that is way too loose and too large. I have an older pair of these "duck shoes" that lace up and I was hoping to replace them as they are worn out. This slip on style does not really allow you to tighten them very much at all despite having some laces, but they seem more decorative than functional. I tried three different sizes, incl. the narrow sizes. Without the ability to tighten them, I can walk right out of them - even the narrow size. I am sending them back and will have to settle for a style that fits a little higher around the ankle but with regular laces to ensure a good fit. Very disappointed because I love the moccasin type "duck" shoe - I really don't want the low boots, but I guess I am stuck. :-(

I ordered these because the Bean Boot were backordered till Spring. these shoes are big and clunky and can not really be adjusted to fit your heal. The fit in the top of the shoe is tight and rigid. I did order down a size as instructed but they were still too loose in the heal and pinched the top of my foot in the front. I do not have wide feet. I wear width B in all other shoes. I will be returning these and reordering my bean boot. I will have to make due without boots until next year.

I ordered a size smaller as recommended. Still much too big. I wore them once & had much difficulty keeping them on my feet. They're going back.

Would have like these shoes but heels are rounded, not tapered like most shoes. Kept slipping out when walking. Easy return and bought a shirt instead.

I gave these Mocs 1 star because of the terrible sizing. I have owned a pair of these Mocs for over 30 years and I loved them. The time finally came for a new pair. Sadly, Bean has changed the design of this great Moc. The heel opening is as wide as the opening to slip your foot into the shoe. My previous pair of Mocs had a more narrow heel. There is no amount of tightening of the lace that will close the heel opening enough to keep the shoe from slipping. I normally wear an 11 so I followed the instructions and ordered a 10. Because of the difficulty in sizing, I actually went to a Bean retail store to try on a different size. The 9 was a little too short but still too wide at the heel. A narrow is too narrow in the body of the shoe. These were great shoes for the sloppy Midwest weather but I will have to find something else. LL Bean please go back to making these great Mocs with a normal heel opening.

We returned the purchase. My wife wears a 8 D shoe, and we followed the directions and ordered a 7. Even with heavy socks the shoe was too wide and the foot slipped out at heel. This happened with other LL Bean shoes we have ordered. There are many similar complaints on the web site and both the web site and a note in the box acknowledged that the shoes run wide. Why doesn't LL Bean simply manufacture the shoes to fit normally?

These were too tight in the toe and too loose in the heal. I would like a waterproof slip on that has a roomy toe box.
