I purchased the size eight, though I wear a size eight and a half. The boots still didn't fit, way too big. And these were going to be the shoes I was going to wear everyday because I don't have any other shoes. Really inconvenienced me.

The instructions are to order one size down from your normal shoe size, which I did. However when they arrived and I tried them on immediately- they were still HUGE. Way too long and way too wide. I checked to make sure I wasn't sent a size 10 instead of what I ordered- size 8, but nope, they were marked an 8. I absolutely hate having to return clothes because it costs 6.50 to ship and a 20 mile drive round trip to UPS. So, skip this item unless you are in a store.

I ordered as instructed, getting a size 8 when I wear 91/2 resulting in a moccasin that was uncomfortably short. The water proof material results in a stiff, awkward shoe. Very uncomfortable walking. Disappointed, I am returning this purchase.

I had a pair from years ago and finally wore them out. I loved them. They had eyelet lace up. Bought new pair, same size as old pair. They were so wide in the heel I walked out of them. Returned them for the same length but in narrow. Better, but when I tied them tight enough to walk thru mud etc. the flap on top bunched up and it was painful (blisters) to walk more than 10 minutes and the toes on one foot were rubbed raw. Returned these too. I need these boots so I will go elsewhere to find some that lace up and fit! Bean, redesign please.

They are falling off when I walk. Too large overall, or maybe they are too heavy. They feel like lead on my feet. Maybe I should've ordered the boots... I put them in the closet (don't know why) and now after a few months I tried them on again but decided to return them.

I should have listened to other reviews complaining about these shoes. They are very wide, and I absolutely have wide feet. The laces have no impact on tightening the shoe, and the tongue serves no purpose other than to make the shoe more difficult to slip into. I needed something immediately, so I didn't send them back, but I will replace them at the first opportunity.

Great looking shoe but I didn't read the reviews. Many said it was too big. I got a 9 which was way large so shipped it back and ordered an 8. It, too, was too large. They don't come in 1/2 sizes so I shipped it back for a refund.

I would not buy these again... Over rated

My true size is 81/2 wide, however I usually buy size 9 medium in most shoes because a wide width is often not available. With that said, based on the reviews claiming these run large, I purchased 8 wide. " Run large" is a complete understatement!!! They were gigantic!! In addition, the back of the shoe, where the back of your ankle goes, is as wide as the main part of the shoe, absolutely no tapering... so when I walk in them the back of my foot lifts completely out of the shoe, like a flip flop! I can't imagine these fitting anyone properly because of the strange "wide ankle" lol. Believe me, the ankle part of these shoes is freakishly wide!! For reference, I am a plus sized person (W 16-18/; 1X-2X), so by no means do I have skinny ankles...but these are crazy wide! These are not 8 wide...they are 8 triple wide...!!! lol. I am so disappointed because I'm not sure what size to exchange these for... :(

I had heard such great things about these Mocs and decided to try them when they went on sale. I followed the website's instructions for sizing (as the sizing is unusual) and they didn't fit. Not only were they way too small but they were so stiff that they didn't bend when I walked in them. I really wanted to love them because they're very cute.

Tried several pairs. All had two wide in the heel area such that the Mocs slip when you walk despite fitting in the forefoot. Returned all.

My sister and I grew up (35 years ago) and each had a pair as our barn shoes. We LOVED them and they fit great but these new shoes, oy, they just don't work! I usually wear a solid 8.5 and have wide feet and a wide heel. The size 8 was the best fit I could get but the heel area was HUGE! No matter how much I tried to tighten the rawhide laces, my heel still floated out every time I took a step. Mind you, I went through this exact same odyssey a few years ago - ordered several pairs - called customer service for help - but couldn't get them to work. I decided to try again thinking that just MAYBE the sizing was corrected. I honestly do not understand how they sell ANY of these shoes. Also- I recently learned that LLBean used to offer half sizes - so maybe that has contributed to the challenge of finding a good fit but for me, it's really IN THE HEEL: CRAZY wide with no amount of tightening helpful. I love you LLBean, but I scratch my head at how/why you haven't revamped the sizing of these shoes.

Ordered for a gift . Could almost walk out of them!

I ordered one size down as suggested by other reviews but they flopped off the heal and were short in the toes???? The tongue rubs the front of my leg and is too stiff. The lacing looks weird and the foot bed is uncomfortable, they will be going back.

I have wanted these for years! I finally broke down & got them. I was utterly disappointed at the fit. I ordered my size which I wear in every single shoe, a 10. These were like flip flops on me yet they were the appropriate length. They way the leather lace tie hit just below the bend of my toes.... made it flip on & off. I had to return. So sad about it. Would not recommend these.

So much oversize that I can't wear them. I even knitted slippers to put in, but I need a slip on shoe, They are not convienant. I love the shoe, just wish they fit.

This has to be a man's shoe size nine. I wear usually 9 1/2 to 10 women's shoe and I could fit three fingers inside the back of the shoe and there was still too much room in it. I don't care how many pairs of socks I had on these are NOT a women's size nine. To return them costs money and takes weeks and weeks for a refund. No more l l bean for me. found the perfect shoe elsewhere

I don't think of my foot as typically running narrow, but these shoes are not able to be adjusted much at all. The laces are basically cosmetic.
