These have been my go-to boots for everyday wear for years; fall, winter, and spring. If they weren't so warm I'd wear them on rainy summer days, too. They're easy to slip on for a quick trip down the block, and stand up to anything the gross city streets throw at them. They hold up so well someone even stole my last pair from inside my apartment building. What other type of 6-year-old boots are worth stealing!?

My kids bought me these boots for christmas. I have been very pleased with the fit. I usually wear a 12- 4e wide shoe, so I ordered 13- 2e bean boot. They fit me fine. I took a 3 mile walk in the snow the other day, no problems, and warm. I would recommend these boots.

After trying several different styles, these boots fit my husband perfect! My husband had his boots for 25 years and needed a replacement but was having a hard time with the fit. The siize 11 in most pairs were too narrow and 12 was too big. Theses came in a wide width and he normally wears size 11 1/2 shoes but 11 Wide EE in these boots were a perfect fit and worth the trouble of several returns. (LL Bean makes returns effortless!) Thank you for making my husband so happy about his new boots!

This is the single greatest product that LL Bean sells. This particular pair one-ups the original by keeping your feet dry (Gore-Tex) and warm (Thinsulate). I will be honest. I bought the original pair with no lining at all and my feet got cold. Yes, I know you are suppose to wear wool socks with them, but wool is just not an option for me. So, I went for this pair instead, and it is just awesome. There is no boot on planet earth better than these beauties. You will not be dissapointed. FYI - On the bottom of each boot are the initials of the person who hand made the boot (Made in Maine by the way), as well as an enclosed card hand "autographed" by the sewer, so two thumbs for Kasandra W. for my pair! Just an incredible product. Accept no substitutes. To paraphrase Star Wars, "These are the boots you were looking for" (apologies for that bad joke).

These boots were given as a gift. They looked better than I remember from past decades-old purchases. The thinsulate lining is a smart upgrade. My future son-in-law didn't take them off except for sleeping after he opened his gift, wearing them everywhere and declaring that they are now the most comfortable shoes he owns. In today's world he probably can wear them everywhere!

I bought these for my 14 year old son and he loves them! He wears them almost every day in the colder months, says they are nice and toasty and has worn them hiking, walking through water! Would recommend these to any age!!

Purchased these as a gift for my boyfriend. He is generally an 11 in all shoes but I followed the size recommended by LL Bean and went with a 10. They fit great and he loves how comfortable they are and is happy to have a true waterproof boot, complete with attached tongue for extra water protection. Thanks LL Bean! We now understand the deep love people have of Bean boots and I went on to purchase a pair for myself.

I'm proud to finally have my own pair of iconic LL Bean boots. I'd like to give a shout-out to Joan T who made mine. Follow the directions of purchasing sizes smaller than you normally wood. You will want thicker socks for temps in the mid 30s or lower.

Just received mine in the mail, and wanted to leave a quick review about sizing for men with smaller feet! I'm a size 7 in men's, or a 40 in European sizes - so I was very concerned about fit since I've never purchased anything from LL Bean before. Many people said to get a size down, which really isn't an option when you're a size 7. Long story short, I ordered a Women's size 8 (medium), and it fits pretty perfectly! Now, the real test is how they stand up to Midwestern winters.

What can you say an American Co that still knows how to do things right. Don't know why I forgot about these things anyway, who knows how many pairs I have owned since going to camp as a little tyke. They didn't have Gore-tex back in the day so maybe I won't have to put on my heavy socks now. My foot has spread a bit in the last 6 decades but the 14 EE fit just right. These are the original slush busters, thanks LLBean glad to be back!

I wear a 47 European size which equates to approximately 13 in a U.S. sizes. So, I ordered a size 12EE and my feet were swimming. I exchanged them for an 11EE and with boot socks they fit fine. They are sufficiently wide, but not true EEs which is good since I normally wear an E.
I've had them three years and they hardly show any wear. I bought the Goretex Thinsulate model and I have regularly worn them in single digit weather. My feet have always been warm and dry. I like the fit in that they do no closely hug your calves. If these were for hiking or trekking in dry weather that would be a problem, but when walking in the Maine woods in snow they are perfect.
The only caveat is that the laces that came with my boots were too short; I was not able to securely tie them. Replacing the laces solved the problem, but the length should be adjusted for the larger sized boots.

Look, I am sure that not having this Gore-Tex/Thinsulate is much worse, but ... my feet freeze in these boots on normal days. I am not prone to cold feet, but this Gore-Tex/Thinsulate does not seem to add any benefit to these boots. What does help is the LL Bean heavy weight boot socks. My feet have never been wet in these boots, and that is good, but they have been cold. Get the socks too!

I originally ordered a size 14EE (my normal size), but they were too long. I chose to size down to 13EE and they fit perfectly.

I was skeptical on buying this boot at first because I normally wear a size 15! After a few days conversing with different customer service reps, they convinced me that the boot would fit! Once the boots arrived, I tried them on and the length and width was perfect with a regular boot sock! I am satisfied with the purchase! I wish LLBean would make the shearling lined boots in 14 extra wide!!

This is actually my first pair of L.L. Bean Boots that I've purchased. They are very comfortable and they will keep your feet warm in cold weather. Haven't used it yet in the winter but I can't wait to try it out.
Love the design and I love the quality of this product.

Hopefully, the 3rd time is a charm. My feet are narrow and I have never been able to order narrow boots. First I ordered size 10, I normally take 10.5 or 11. Way too long. Sent them back and got 9 narrow. Too short and too narrow. Actually, the narrowness may have made the left boot too short (my left foot is longer). Sending them back and asking for 9 medium.
I like some wiggle room and wish they offered half sizes but I think this is going to work and I look forward to having LL Bean made in USA boots!

These boots are well made and comfortable. Follow the size recommendations that are given on the LLB website even if they seem like they are too small.

I researched the comments about this boot and also called your service rep when ordering. I have a large foot for a woman, and usually buy men's shoes in a 9 to 9 1/2 depending on what type of shoe it is. My foot is wide and I ended up buying a Men's Size 8 (D Med Wide). The service representative thought it might be too small, but when I received it, it fit perfectly. Be aware of the sizing, and adjust your purchase accordingly. The boot is high quality, and after walking around all day on the ranch, no sore feet.

If your contemplating buying a boot for our upcoming Winter, I strongly recommend this boot. There is no better insulation than 3M Thinsulate and no better keeping your feet dry protection than Gore-Tex.
It's that simple. Forget all the other options for lining your boot: flannel, etc.
Yes this boot is more like buying a Cadillac vs a Chevrolet for transportation, and is expensive, BUT there really is no better boot ...period...

As in the title, I bought mine about 20 years ago. I wear them all winter long here in Maine, almost every day. I'm now 77 and last year I found the soles were finally getting a bit too smooth, while the rest of the boot was just fine. I took them to the main store in Freeport in July to have them resoled, as I didn't want to take a chance and slipping on the snow or ice this winter. They arrived at my doorstep about a month later, looking like new, with new rubber bottoms happily married to the well worn leather uppers. I figure in another 20 years when I'm 97 it may be time to have them resoled again.

My Goretex/Thinsulate boots are currently at LLBean for their third resole. I think at this point they are probably 10+ years old. They are my go to boot in both rain and snow. The upgrade to Goretex/Thinsulate is money well spent. I love the fact that they are made in the USA and that LLBean provides repairs.

First, I bought these boots for my wife as a Christmas present. She raved about the boots for the past 2 months, so I had to buy a pair for myself. I just received them 2 weeks ago, and I have to admit, they are nearly perfect. The boots are extemely comfortable. Usually new boots require a break in period where they are stiff and unflexible. Not these boots! They are pretty lightweight, but extremely warm and flexible near the laces (where you would normally see them stiff). They are definitely waterproof as I wear them into the chicken coop and simply spray them off with a hose to clean. Nothing sticks to these boots, mud, dirt, chicken poop. Everything washes off quickly. There is a thinsulate lining in the boots that makes them the best. It is extremely thin material (hence the name "thin" sulate) and its surprisingly warm as heck. I suggest every person should have a pair of these boots if you live in New England where the weather can change 40 degrees in a day. We've had some rainy weather in Mass, and these boots have been awesome. One minor issue I had was that the bottom 2 eye lits appear to be so sharp that they have frayed by laces at the bottom. I just emailed LL Bean to inform them and I'm almost sure they will send me a new pair of laces. Cause thats how they roll!
Good luck,
