The 8" Men's Boots are the absolute best boots on the market. They do run big/long, with me usually wearing an 11 but these boots I wear a 10 quite nicely. I bought these to replace my last pair of Bean 8" boots that I had worn for 13 years. :) Best boots ever!

Guess I'll be showing my age here but the quality of the Bean boots I received today is as good, if not better than the boots I ordered back in the 70's, 80's and 90's. L.L. Bean never lets me down. The size recommendations are accurate. Order a size down and you won't be disappointed. A little trick that I've learned over the years is to insert inexpensive foam insoles under the insoles that come with your Bean boots when wearing thin socks in the fall and spring. Remove the extra insoles in the winter when wearing heavy socks. It makes the fit of the boot feel consistent year round....at least it does for me. Enjoy your Bean boots!

My son works on a golf course and these are his work boots. The first pair lasted a solid two years of punishment from the wet conditions and spraying chemicals and lots of walking. He had tried another brand put said the sole peeled away after a couple of months. When these were included in a sale, we bought 2 pair. They are highly recommended!

I'm blown away by these boots. At first I wondered what I might need them for, but I quickly answered that question with "everything." They are comfortable, stylish, and durable beyond belief. Love this product and can't wait to buy another pair!

Like L.L.Bean and everyone else says make sure to size down. I'm a 12 in most everything and the 11 wide still fits a little big but I'm sure with heavy socks fit will be great. Of course the year I finally break down and buy a pair, no Rain or Snow at all.. YET at least. I'm sure they will do great in the moisture. I did put some boot guard on them straight out the box when I got them for extra protection. Like knowing ther are guaranted for LIFE..

I've owned these boots for only a few weeks but they've been a rainy few weeks and these boots have already warmed their way into my heart. Amazingly comfortable boots that are definitely water proof. Love em. They do run large, I normally wear around a 10.5 in other shoes, ordered the size 9 in these and there is still a bit of room when I wear normal socks, and they fit perfectly with wool socks.

When I first got my boots, I could see the quality. Handmade in the USA stands out. The think I like most though is the comfort. It reminds me of some nice work boots with anti-fatigue insoles. I bought a pair for me and my wife.

Got as a gift. Never owned a pair and these have been great. Use them to walk dogs on trail in addition to general use.

Why have I waited so long to purchase these!?!? Best investment!!! I was worried about the fit, I'm a 9.5/10, so I ordered both an 8 and a 9. The 8 fits perfectly; plenty of room to wear a thick sock but great with a thinner sock too. My feet don't swim in these boots like lots of other styles. I love the handcrafted uniqueness too!! Also, I received them both so quickly. I can't say enough about how excellent L.L.Bean customer service is. A standout.

I bought these boots for my boyfriend and he absolutely LOVES them! I was a bit hesitant on what size to get him as it says that the boots run a bit large. He typically wears a 10.5 in shoes and has wide feet. I ordered a size 9 Wide in these boots and they fit him perfectly!!

I just bought a brand new pair of Bean hunting shoe boots after just reviewing my old pair here on line. I have had the old ones for ever and talked myself into a new pair right after I wrote it. I have known, Bean has had a re-design of there Bean hunting shoe. I just tested my new ones out and went bow hunting. I bought my shoe size so I could wear heavier socks, (Smart wool). Just got to say they felt and worked out great. A lot better comfort wise than the ones I bought years ago. 1987. I am going to wear these a whole lot more.

I have forgotten to review my bean boots. I received a gift pair in 1987, the 8 in. I had just ordered my log home and wore them while building it. It took me and my 13yo son 6 months to do so. I wore these every time I worked on it. I had the bottoms replaced twice and continued to wear them today. I kept the leather moist with preserver and they are in very good condition still today. I am a avid Bow hunter and you won't find a quieter pair of boots in the woods. I wear these in early to mid fall when Bow hunting. The rubber is getting low. I guess I'll have to buy another pair. Great boots

Super comfortable, got a pair for Christmas 2014 (back ordered) got them in April '15 love them until they got stolen this year early Summer '16. Also, bought another (Feb '16) pair for my friend who was deployed and gave them to him when he got off the boat. Would recommend them to anyone and going to buy another pair or ask for Christmas. I miss these boots now, more than ever since it's fall.

Please bring back the brown/brown color for the 8" boots!! Awesome boots except for the limited colors available.

Finally gave into a long time urge and ordered a pair of Bean Boots. Grew up on the east coast and had heard about them many times. They're great - and Vancouver Island is providing the rain to give them a trial! \ordering was easy and they came quickly - even all the way out here on the West Coast in Canada.

If you know they run big, do something about it. We sized down a full size and they are still too big. It's a pain to keep buying and returning.

The stitching on these boots sucks the stitching does not last

Love the quality, the style but why is the fit not true to size???

I sized down as recommended and they are still a little loose. They work for me as I just wear thicker socks in the winter. There is some quality control issues with the seams not totaling lining up, but they are still water proof and no issues, just visually you get a little upset on how much these things cost. Walking around is comfortable, but if you're not used to a narrow heel you may accidentally roll your ankle for a bit. Wearing them all day isn't an issue. For winter they are great and nice and waterproof but even with thick socks your feet will get cold after a bit. If you're outside a lot I would recommend the insulated set. The ability to get these resoled really drove to go this route.

I was surprised that they are so easy to wear. I have worn them a lot over the last few weeks other than the strings I like a lot.
