I expected the jacket to be thin & lightweight but needs some enhancements- specifically a storm cuff. I'm returning, just doesn't seem like it will keep me warm. . .

Not warm at all. My wife took it with her to Yellow knife, Canada, Northwest Territory., to view the Northern Lights, and it did NOT keep her warm at 32 degrees. It is advertised to be warm to 30 below zero. We are going to try to return it.

The hood strings are angled awkward off the jacket to lie against the base of the neck. Which one is not comfortable and two looks like a have ear buds stuck to my neck. Please put the strings back on the outside of the hood. The jacket to too roomy. I was hoping to replace a older coat but the hood strings are just too annoying to keep.

Although I really love this coat, the zipper has broken on it twice since I bought it a year and a half ago. This time I can't fix it and I am going to have it to take it somewhere and pay someone to replace the zipper. Never would have thought I would have to do this for and LL Bean product and now I have no recourse since they no longer stand behind their merchandise. A zipper on a $200 plus coat should last longer than two seasons. Highly disappointed.

I received this coat as a Christmas gift and loved it - it's a great length, very warm - the quality I'd expect from LL Bean. Regrettably, on my second wear, the fabric tore a hole in one of the front panels (I was helping a neighbor carry a table) and there is nothing that can be done per customer service. At this price point, more durable fabric should be expected. It's unfortunate as it is a great coat otherwise.

This coat was enjoyably warm. However, it snagged on a door and ripped its thin outer shell within weeks of purchase, and is losing its down. This was not a tear I would have expected from my recently retired coat, off-brand and half the price, which went 3 years and walked through the same doorway many times intact. When I contacted LL Bean customer service I was advised on a good tape brand I could use for a repair. This is the last coat I purchase from this company.

I really wanted this coat to work, as it is so hard to find quality petite down coats. I am 5'3", 112 lbs, ordered a Petite XS and it is way too big.

Had high hopes for this, in a lightweight, non-bulky down coat. It looked extremely cheap (very thin fabric compared to the North Face my husband just bought) the arms were short, while the shoulders were large, and LLBean and their 2-way metal zippers need to part ways. (I have an older parka of theirs which I hate because of those zippers - I can never get the thing zipped, and never use it.) Returned this coat. This has been several fails in a row at attempts to shop at Bean recently. They've fallen off of the top of my list for clothing vendors.

Disappointing purchase. The coat is not nearly as warm as I was led to believe by sales person. Cold air comes right through zipper. Cuffs are not sufficient to keep out cold either. Coat is wonderfully light-weight but that is not enough of a feature to admire if you are cold. I would not recommend to anyone living in New England.

I ordered the mid thigh length coat in extra large but in error I was sent the long coat which I returned. When the correct length was sent, in trying it on, I found that there was more room in the chest area in the longer coat than the mid thigh length in extra large. Measurements were the same for both in sizing chart but not in the actual garment. I love the coat for warmth and style but I cannot wear anything heavier than a light weight tee shirt for the coat to close properly (just about!) Very disappointed in the sizing. The coat is not offered in sizes larger than extra large like 1X, etc. Down coats in 1X do not appeal to me so I am very disappointed.

I was looking to get a nice winter coat and liked that this is lighter weight. The salesperson at the store assured me that this was a really warm coat but unfortunately it really isn't. I've worn it when temps are in the 40s and have been cold and when there has been a wind I could feel it go right through the coat especially in the arms. I bought a Medium, which is my usual size, and the fit was good but it was a bit tight around the middle when I wore a sweater that was a bit bulkier.

I bought this two weeks ago because of it's warmth; supposed to keep me warm in harsh weather (40 degrees). It is the worst coat I have ever purchased. The weather lately has been in low sixties and it cannot even keep me warm now. The only thing this coat is good for is Spring in California. It is certainly not worth the $300 price. If you want warmth, buy something else. Wish I would have returned it.

Need to return this jacket. I received it with some black marks on it and I thought it may have been from folding to ship it. But they didn't go away after being out of the packing and got worse after wearing it one day. Will be going to a store to see if they can help me return it and get another one.

I have had 3 of these coats different colors over the years. The quality has gone down. Not as warm white feathers come out all the time, cheaply made but cost more.

Poor quality of outer shell; it ripped after a half dozen times wearing it. I've sent it back. For 300 dollars!

I have an 850 down in a gorgeous plum color that I purchased in 2015. I wore that coat for more than 4 dozen business trips. I loved how warm it was, how stylish (dressy enough for work), and how easily it could be rolled up and packed in a medium-sized purse. I washed it multiple times per year, and it was a real champ; not ripping, not shedding feathers (it was actually DOWN--not feathers) and always looked like new. Still does. The only issue is the zipper broke and the stitching along the zipper is starting to tear--which is understandable given the coat has been on planes, trains. and automobiles, as well as multiple washings, over the course of a decade. When the zipper broke, I decided to get another identical coat. I noticed the new ones have a hood, which I could take or leave. (Although the hood is convenient, it makes it look like an old "schlepping around" coat--definitely not something that can be used for dressier occasions or if you work in a more upscale environment. Still, I could live with that. But what I can't live without is the utter lack of quality: It has zero shape (my old one provided a nice, slim silhouette); the material is not even CLOSE to as durable as my old coat; and the zipper is cheap. I could even live with these deficiencies IF the price was reflective of the lower quality. It is not. I am not paying $300 for a piece of junk. Returned.

After 10 months, this coat began developing tiny holes through which the down inside would stick out. Very unsightly on a black coat -- and no way to fix it! If the material is that delicate, it should have a warning label, or at least not cost $279!

I was shocked by the poor quality and the sizing was completely off. And for this kind of money. Unbelieveable. I've been buying from LLBeans for many decades and I hear they've been struggling lately and I feel bad for them (I'm from Maine). But quality control, people!!! And it wasnt just this purchase. My other presents are sub par.

The arm got caught on something which created a hole. I tried to bring it back, and they sold me a vinyl repair kit to fix the hole. Duct tape would have worked just fine.

This jacket made it through one Northern Maine winter before stitching coming loose and a rip in the elbow which means every time I wear it I am followed by a trial of down feathers coming out of the sleeve. I loved the cut and shape of the jacket so much, however, that I was willing to purchase again. Maybe someday will when they offer more than the same 4 drab colors they've had the last two years.

Zipper tab broke shortly after warranty period. After doing some research found that the zipper was much lighter weight than recommended for coats. Contacted customer service and store manger at local store. Neither were able to help. So disappointed o/w coat could be used for many more years.

The quality of this coat does not justify the price. The hood is too floppy and squared in the front. The elastic around the wrists is cheap looking. I ordered a PM and it was too tight (i'm 5'2 and 140lbs). The L is too big.

Bought this jacket only a week ago, lightly worn twice and already has a hole with feathers popping out. Tried to get a replacement in-store and was told we cannot. Jacket looks good and is comfortable but for the price, the durability and construction appears to be pretty bad. Probably won't be buying a jacket from ll bean anytime soon again.

I bought this coat in a large petite and the shoulders and hips fit great. But it was too tight around the stomach. I exchanged it for an excel petite and a jacket is way too big overall. Please loosen Up the waist area, and go back to the old fit
