The coat is warm. But there is some stuffing coming out all ready should I return.

I love this coat but the day I bought it I found a rip in the arm when I got home. It hadn't even been worn. I live 2 hours away so couldn't return it immediately, but I will soon.

I bought this jacket for my wife due to it's 850 down rating. While it is an ok jacket in regards to fit and style it is no where near as filled or puffy as my own 850 fill down jacket and no where near as warm. I would have returned it if my wife hadnt already removed the tags and worn it. If warmth is your goal then I do not recommend this jacket.

It hardly compares to my last coat. Same 850 hooded coat but different length. It feels like they left out half the down. Disappointing. Cold air breezes right through.

not sure about the sizing. Petite Medium fit great except the bust was super tight. Petite Large was too big & considerably larger than Petite Medium. The sleeves at the cuff on this coat are too loose and just hang around the wrist with no protection. It didn't have the feel of good quality that I have enjoyed in the past from LLBean

Normally I'm very happy with the quality of my purchases from LL Bean but this particular item has pin holes in the left sleeve which allowed some the insulation poke out. I purchased it as a Christmas present for my wife. It looks great and fits well however, some of the down feathers poked through the outer lining.

I have purchased same coat ( shorter style ) same temperature rated in past and loved it's warmth. THIS coat is NOT warm. Cold air is felt through the coat! I wish to return it but have been wearing it for a month now. It's been snowy, windy and very cold this past month and I feel this coat is a big disappointment. Style is ok. It's a bit flared at bottom. Hood has a cord system you cinch and is hard to reach if your zipped up. Again, last coat I purchased was a better model. Brrrr

It fit well and the color was nice but was returned because it was not warm enough.

I have to complain about the sizing and cut of this jacket, only because I am so disappointed that out of the 3 sizes I tried on (Medium, Large and XL), not one of them came close to fitting properly or "looking right." It's a beautiful coat. But the proportions of shoulder/torso/sleeve are all wrong...

The zipper sticks. I brought this coat about 5 plus years ago and much better down fill. The quality has really gone down

The coat was too light weight for me, it did not feel that it would keep me warm,

I really wanted this coat to work, it definitely felt like it could be warm if it fit closer to the body, but the XS had an overall looseness and puffiness that was so unflattering. It just floated over me, with crease marks showing and no shape. XS is the smallest size available so there's no exchanging for a smaller size. I own other beans items in XS and S that fit, so this is just a big disappointment.

I love the look and fit of this jacket but the quality is less than impressive. I've had this for two weeks and the stuffing is coming out left and right. If you try to pull it through, you end up pulling out a handful of stuffing. I'm really disappointed to have paid this much for a jacket that I feel like I can't wear.

Pros: it's lightweight, comfortable and it covers the bum. Cons: The material is too thin. Little holes easily form and then the goose feathers shed constantly, making the coat not that warm at all. I'm returning for a different item, definitely not worth the steep price tag!

First jacket return do to hole in shoulder, down escaping from hole. Now I am returning the second jacket, because the zipper kept splitting, when zipped up. Zipper is now stuck, half way up, and one of the teeth, is bent. Cannot get zipper to go down, to end of jacket. Very disappointed. This was a Christmas gift, to my daughter. I actually like the jacket, so I bought one for myself, different color, and have had no problems, so far.

I hemmed and hawed, searching high and low for the perfect puffer winter coat. And this would have been it. It has a somewhat loose fit, nice for layering and is the perfect length, long enough to cover your butt and then some. I got the gunmetal gray, which is lovely. One thing that I found odd- there are adjuster things for the hood that stick out on both sides near your face that kind of get in the way. I read reviews about feathers coming out of this coat and then sadly, it happened to me. After only a couple times of casual wear, small feathers from the down started poking out and then a big clump of them, leaving a hole in the coat material. I'm not sure if it's the gunmetal gray that only has this problem or not. Regardless, the quality is not there for this coat and I returned it.

Baggy, hung very loose on my frame. Prefer a coat with bit more substance.

I bought this coat a year and a half ago. Went through a mild winter with no issues and liked the coat. We just had a rainy/wet snow. I took my dogs for a 30 minute walk and the coat was soaked completely through and my clothes underneath became damp. I was actually shocked and disheartened because I expect more from LL Bean. I just wanted everyone to be aware and take into consideration when thinking of buying.

This coat looks nice, fits well, and is very lightweight, but it isn't warm at all. I would maybe wear it in the fall but will be exchanging it for something warmer.

I was excited for this coat. It fit very comfortably (I got my usual size Medium, and there was still room for layers), and the coat itself is nice and light while still being warm. However, within 3 weeks of casual wear, I started to notice the filling coming through the coat in a couple spots. I tried to push it back in, but it kept happening, so I tried pulling it out... BIG mistake! A huge chunk of filling came with it, and made a hole in the coat. In general, I do not think this coat will last long, which is disappointing as LLBean quality items used to last years. Lastly, from a design perspective there was one thing that bugged me- the interior of the coat by the collar was gray instead of black. Because of the way the hood is attached to the zipper, it was always showing (versus standing up), and it made it look kind of sloppy. I would have overlooked this design flaw if the coat's quality was better, but alas, it was returned.

This is quite a nice coat if only it had lived up to its Warmest rating which in my experience it did not. I tried it outside on my porch when the temperature was in the high 30s, sheltered from the wind, and very quickly felt cold. It is a thin, lightweight, attractive coat, but I wanted one to keep me warm when it's in the low 30s and below and this coat didn't work for me.

I have two of them already but this one looks horrible no shape at all and I think is because was on sale I think that when the price goes down the quality does too or you have two versions of the same coat.

I received this coat as gift from my husband, who thought it would be perfect for dog-walking on cold mornings. I wore it Christmas morning--a not especially cold day--and just wasn't warm enough. I also thought the coat was cheaply made--no internal pockets, an extremely flimsy zipper--so I returned it.

Was expecting this to be very warm which is why I brought it but to my surprise after having a cold day in Manhattan New York was very disappointed didn't meet up to my expectations. So sorry it didn't work for me really wanted to be a lasting customer. Elaine

This is my 3rd ultralight coat in 4 years. I was so delighted with the first, until the zipper stopped working; Beans did replace it without any question. But then in less than a year, the 2nd one had sprouted 5 different "leaks" where the filling came out. I treat clothing well but after 5 sprouts I returned it for my 3rd one at the end of last winter. In less than a week, it had sprouted a very visible hole; my almost new coat already sports a piece of black tape and I covered another one with black marker. I am SO disappointed in how fragile the outer covering is, and decided it was time to let others know.
