Not as warm as I had hoped but I do like that it's not bulky.

Very sissified with this coat. I wish there was a nice zippered pocket on the inside and also if the hood was adjustable at the back of the hood

I want to like this coat because it has a classic style. But it does not live up to it’s claims of keeping you warm in 20 degree windy weather.

I was very lucky to get this coat in a discontinued color, Olive Green, at a seriously discounted price. I have 2 greyhounds and walk them three times a day - even in the coldest weather. This coat would have been worth full retail. I am warm in windy cold weather, I am protected from a rain for a short time. The hood can be pulled tight for complete protection and it is so warm I can walk the girls even in my PJs. I love the light weight compared to my "storm coat" from Craghoppers. I would caution buyers however to avoid walking in brambly woods with this coat as the lightness requires a rather fragile outer material.

The coat is good but tough to present as a gift when you can't get a box. Bean shouldn't hide behind "supply chain" problems and being environmental friendly. You're based in Maine the most densely populated tree state!

i ordered a pxs after finding the regular xsmalls in most brands are too big. It fit good except the cut is wide and baggy so it was very comfortable but I thought it looked too big. Good to wear a bulky sweater or vest under though and you would be really toasty.

This coat looks great on. It is slightly fitted rather than straight so looks nice on. It's warm in 30 degrees but haven't worn it in lower temps. It's lightweight so great for travel. I bought an xs and it's roomy enough for sweaters underneath.

Very thin and lightweight, which is great. If it had snaps or some form of quick closure it would have been a keeper. It was too long for me to mess with the zippers. It does have a bottom up zipper which is convenient but not enough. I ended up getting the shorter version which works better for me. If you want a longer jacket this one is lovely.

I love this coat! I have been looking for a down coat to replace my 15 year old puffy down coat! The new coat is so light weight but as warm as my puffer coat. However, I generally layer with a turtle neck long sleeved t shirt and a light weight fleece. I like the longer length and the blue color is beautiful. It's also really flattering because there's no more bulk!!

I wanted something flattering and lightweight but very warm for midwest winter (I am also just a cold person) it is all those things. I feel though for the price the outside fabric should not let the little down feathers poke out. I love the length and the shape. Down coats usually look so frumpy and this has a nice feminine shape.

I needed a new lightweight coat to keep me warm but not feel over heated when out running errands. The coat runs a bit big but i use a fleece sweater underneath to keep me cozy on brisk days. Only complaint is that the feathers are starting to come out and I've only worn the coat less than 20 times.

We exchanged the first coat that we bought because some of the down was coming out at the seams. The new coat is holding up well. It's stylish, light and warm. I'm very satisfied with it and gladly recommend it to friends v

Nice down coat. The fit is perfect! I was disappointed that there are no labels or monogramming anywhere identifying it as an LLBean product. Also no "850 Down" label anywhere. Come on, for $260 you can do better than that!

I decided to order the XL size as I want to be able to wear this coat with a heavy sweater underneath. I normally wear a L. I live in Northern Michigan, and it gets quite cold in the winter. The coat is roomy and comfortable. I am disappointed as the zipper was stuck when I took the coat out of its package. It is a challenge every single time I zip my coat. I hope the fabric around the zipper will be able to handle the tug of war. Surprising considering this is not an inexpensive coat.

I bought this on sale in the green and I am surprised how much I really like it! It's light as a feather and fits into its own stow away pouch. The length is perfect - I am done with short coats in the winter! My arms did get a bit chilled when I wore only a light shirt under it. It's definitely not warm enough without under layers if you are to be outdoors very long. The fabric seems a bit fragile. I had to trim threads off the stuck zipper, which is also a bit of a struggle to hook and get gliding (I'm used to a coat that snaps). I wanted a coat to zip in and out of the car on my shopping trips and I am very happy with this purchase for that reason!

Very comfortable, light as a feather but so warm! Don't even need to wear a sweater underneath. Love the length because it keeps my legs warm and with high boots, it's perfect! Only negative is the material is so soft. Always terrified to tear it. It washes very well also. I spilled food on it and threw it into wash and tumbled dry. Perfect!

I have the 860 in 3 other pieces - a vest, the sweater and a heavier, but short puffer jacket with hood. I love how lightweight all of them are. I ordered the "Marine" blue color thinking it looked more Navy but it's definitely more blue than navy. Fit is slightly bigger than the other 860s I have but nothing way off. Nice transition piece when you don't want to get out your ultra heavy puffers yet. The description says it fits in a pocket built in which I am sure it does but I couldn't figure out how to get it in there and there aren't any instructions online or that come on the coat tags. I need a quick tutorial!

This is a very nice ultralight down winter coat. It felt simultaneously lightweight but also very warm, and has a sporty style. It would be perfect for a mild DC winter. The fit did look a bit boxy and roomy on me, compared to the photos in the catalogue and online, so I did not keep. If LL Bean made a slim fit or fitted option, or even an xxs, and if the coat was just slightly shorter, like 1-2 inches, I probably would have kept it.

This coat is comfortable, looks nice, and is warm-ish. I live in the Northeast, and while it is a warm coat, it feels a bit drafty in the winter without wearing a sweatshirt or intermediary jacket beneath. I like how it looks and how it feels, but definitely is not super warm unless you layer.

This coat is wonderful. Love the petite line from LL Bean. It is so light and has a great silhouette. I love that they added a hood. It is my go-to winter coat. It isn't my warmest coat so I wouldn't recommend wearing it out on a cold winter day you know you are going to spend extended periods of time outside. I wish it came in more colors!

This is a great coat! Very functional and warm. Sometimes I have difficulties with L.L. Bean zippers, but this coat I have no issues at all. The only reason I took away one star is that it does shed some feathers. But not that big of a deal at all!
