So far I have been happy with this coat. I have not experienced extreme weather yet. The coldest the temp has been has been about 35'. The color is perfect!!!

I love wearing hats, beanies, etc and most of the time never use the hood. I love everything about this jacket except the hood that would constantly getting in the way with long hair and can't be removed. That's the only reason I did not buy this or any other jacket from LL Bean this year. The only one without a hood is short. I would love a longer jacket, but without a hood.

This coat is well-made, with a good zipper that also unzips from the bottom for ease in walking. It is very lightweight, but I don't find it all that warm. I would compare it to a long down sweater, which is handy but I need a warmer coat for colder days. The hood is well-shaped and cozy. The coat runs large. I am aways an XS in clothes, and the XS in this coat is generous, and I can easily wear a fleece jacket underneath it.

The size advice says I should wear SMALL, but I wore MEDIUM with sweaters & jackets under it in very cold weather. It could be dressed up or down and was extremely comfortable & practical, even rather elegant. I wore it several years before suddenly the zipper broke. That's what cost it one star!

Feels very warm, and arms are a good length. I don't really like how it splays out at the bottom around the legs instead of being straight cut. I also think it could have a little bit more of a waist.. But it is good quality and warm so I'm going to keep it.

It's definitely light weight but not as warm as I was hoping. I live in Maryland, so it's not terrible cold, but we did have some days of 25 degrees F with wind and I felt that I could use another layer underneath. Otherwise, it has been great for Maryland winters. I love the hood and the fact that it's light weight and compactible. it's super cute and I get compliments.

It fits a little big. I'm 5'8" , 140 and there's plenty of room for extra sweaters with a size medium.

I read the reviews before ordering and I did order a size up, which was a great fit for putting layers underneath. Only one small feather has emerged. The only downsides were the price and the lack of zippered interior pockets.

Beautifully made and accurately sized--just not quite as well-insulated as I had hoped, so it will be worn on 'warmer' winter days.

Nice coat but so easy to get a Snag. Little pin holes with feathers coming out.

This coat is just the right length. Good for walking on days when the temperature is in the 40s or 50s. Fits snuggly with enough room for movement.

This coat is very light but very warm and toasty. The outer shell is so thin that it remains to be seen if it will rip; none so far, and I noticed the fabric is rip-stop fabric. I did have one feather escape, per other comments. I pulled it out gently and massaged the fabric where it came out and it left no damage. So far so good! The coat remains comfy and warm!

Surprisingly toasty for a coat that feels so lightweight. Love the split zipper. The only reason for the 4 stars is that the cuffs could be more snug.

This coat is a great length for snowy days. It is not as warm as I hoped when it is super cold out (i.e. 0-5F), but with a hoodie or thick sweater underneath, it is perfect. I like that it is not a bulky coat.

This is a nice-looking jacket - fitted and a beautiful gray. I have been slightly disappointed in the level of warmth. I was cold when it was in the upper 20s and it's advertised to be much warmer than that. I also wish the cuffs were more fashioned and not just elastic. I think the sleeves would be warmer.

This coat is nice and lightweight and keeps me warm. I had to order a size larger than I usually wear and the sleeves are cut small. It's a little too snug in the arms when I'm wearing a sweater or layers, but I do like it and I like the length.

The coat is light weight and warm. Love the color. I would have given five stars if there were cuffs in the sleeves. Overall I'm pleased with the purchase.

I ordered this for my daughter who needed a good, warm coat for time spent outdoors with her two young boys in our northern Illinois winter weather. The coat is very attractive, and the color was gorgeous. However, it fit a little tight across her shoulders and she really couldn't have that if she was playing outdoors with her kids. But mostly, the coat was not as warm as she wanted. The coat itself is so very lightweight that you instantly think it can't possibly be warm enough. But with modern-day fill and lining, who knows? Some reviewers said it was nice and warm and others said not as warm as they would like. Plus, my daughter doesn't really like to layer; she just wants a good, warm coat and she didn't feel this was it. Reluctantly, we sent it back.

Beautiful, comfortable coat that isn't heavy to wear. You can drive around town without getting overheated in the car during winter months yet still have the coverage and warmth you want when outside on a cold day. Would need a warmer option to combat below freezing or windy conditions.

I like my 3/4 length Ultralight 850 hooded coat, however, I have an 850 jacket that is 5 years old and I think it is warmer than the new coat. The down in the jacket is a little thicker. We've had a couple of cold days and I needed to dress warmer under the coat than if I were wearing the jacket. Quality everywhere is declining, I had hoped that wouldn't be the case at L L Bean, but it appears it is.

gave as a gift...coat is good except for the hood doesn't fit like it should.

Very warm yet light weight! Nice fit, especially for a winter coat. But, the pockets have a material that feel abrasive against my hands and the length is shorter than I would have liked. But, I knew both of those things when I still chose to buy it.

Love that this coat is lightweight, easy to move around in, and incredibly warm. I've worn it with and without a sweater underneath and was warm in 40 degree winter weather. Perfect for outdoor dining in winter. My one concern is occassionslly feathers poke out and escape the coat. I worry if overtime this will lead to noticeable holes. Overall, I am very happy with this attractive fitting and warm coat

Wish it had a detachable hood and that the lining (especially around the neck) was the same color as the coat.

Great length and seems warm enough for activities. The material is so thin that a simple snag results in a nasty "corner" after one week of ownership!
