I love the light weight of this coat. Just wore it on a ski trip to Colorado and it was so easy to put in my carry on. The fit is exactly what I wanted as there was room to wear a fleece underneath if extra warmth was needed. Since I live in NC, I can see it as my "go to" to coat when I need something warmer than my Ultralight sweater jacket. Also, love the styling.

When the package with this jacket arrived, my husband didn't believe that's what it was - he thought the package was too light to be a jacket! It took a day or two for the coat to really "puff" after being shipped. This jacket is very warm so far (I've actually been too warm a few mornings walking the dogs). We haven't had a really cold snap yet, but based on how warm it's been so far, I'm not worried. I bought the purple color, which is a bit darker in person than it looks online. I usually wear an XL in outerwear (western NY - it's all about the layers), and I was worried based on the reviews that the XL would be too snug, but it's perfect. I have plenty of room for bulky sweaters/sweatshirts underneath. The double zipper is great, I just wish that there were snaps or buttons so I could hold the top part of the jacket together without zipping it all the way up. Overall, very happy with my purchase!

Originally ordered the small based on the measurement guide, but it was very large. Ended up with the XS and it fits well. Still a little large through the middle, but overall fine. Fit is flattering. It is warm, lightweight and comfortable. Hood fits well which is unusual in my experience. Thank you LL Bean for a great coat!

I love the lightweight feel but extreme warmth of this coat! The cut is flattering, I love the many features, and I was amazed the sleeves are long enough for a tall person like me! Normally I wear a small or medium in coats and had to go down to XS in this coat to not look ridiculous.

I love this coat! It is super light and packable, and surprisingly warm. A medium fits perfect for me with room for a sweater underneath.

Everything I was looking for....got an XL so this would not be too snug....fits great and room to move!

I am in love with my new lightweight down coat which comes below my knees and keeps me super warm without any weight. I especially like that it has a very good fitting hood to protect me from rain and snow and that this coat is waterproof! It has it all, is a nice fit, and is easy to put on and take off and simply fold up somewhere...takes up no space whatsoever. Highly recommend!

Loved the lightness of this coat. Received as a gift in the burgundy color and have already gotten compliments on color and look. Fit is great, a-line which is great for me who has a larger frame and larger hips. Highly recommended!

After searching several notable companies for the perfect jacket for my daughter for Christmas we decided on this one and it is perfect. She lives in Maine and found it very comfortable, easy to move in, and warm. It really is prefect! She wanted a long jacket to keep her warm while picking up kids and hauling children around and at bus stops. This was the best jacket by far.

I purchased this coat as a Christmas gift to my daughter. She's barely taken it off since she opened her gift on Christmas morning. She said the coat is very warm, soft and comfortable. She loves the longer length when it's windy and cold.

This coat is wonderful!!! Light as a feather and very warm. When the wind blows and you put the hood up you do not feel the cold air at all!!! I bought this coat for my wife.

The Ultralight 850 down coat is fantastic. It's so warm and yet lightweight. No issues with zipper (as others have mentioned). Super pleased with my purchase. I bought the blue in XS.

I purchased this coat for my wife. She runs in between a Small and Medium so after reading reviews and seeing the jacket runs a bit large purchased the Small. PERFECT FIT! My wife absolutely loves the jacket. It is very lightweight, yet keeps her extremely warm.

So light weight and comfortable. Mine was a petite medium. I was concerned it would be too tight after zipped but was pleasantly surprised it was perfect. Just enough room for an extra sweater if weather called for it. It's my most comfortable coat.

This coat fits .... including arms, and that almost never happens to me. This coat is warm and waterproof, lightweight and most attractive. I wear a fleece jacket underneath and have a scarf to keep neck warm... especially from wind. Whole ensemble works!

Was wanting a longer coat for the colder windy days and this one really does it. I have the same version in the short jacket in several colors and love how lightweight but warm these coats are. Wish the longer jacket came in brighter colors instead of the standard black, brown, blue and plum. I ordered the blue and the plum to try to decide and ended up keeping the plum color.

I am absolutely in love with this jacket!!!! I live in Atlantic Canada and was in need of a coat that wasn't a giant heavy parka to wear for our shoulder winter months when our days are 0 to minus 15. I searched for months for a jacket that not only suited my weather requirements but overall length (hits me just above my knees) and budget and mission accomplished with this jacket! I do find that it does run a bit on the larger side which is ok for winter layering. The overall fill and weight is perfect, it's very warm but isn't heavy. I read a lot of reviews before purchasing and many reviews had issues with loosing feathers and the thin outer of the jacket..........I have lost a feather or two but this sheds far less than other jackets that I have had. As for the thin outer layer I find it no different from any other down filled jacket, in order to preserve it I wouldn't wear it into the woods for fear of snags or rips. I love this coat so much I have just ordered the long and short version and can't wait for them to arrive! Keep up the great work LL Bean!

I originally purchased a large, but felt it was very fitted. I returned it to the store and tried on the extra large and the fit was perfect. The coat is very warm and lightweight.

I love everything about this coat. Lightweight, great length, roomy enough for layering. Even the hood is very functional, Stays on in the wind, unlike other coats. I bought the black with gray interior, it will never go out of style....

My sibs and I purchased this for our 87 y/o mother and she is stylin' now! She loved it.

I ordered this coat online and when it arrived I was skeptical it would keep me warm given how thin it is. I was wrong! It's so warm, even on bitterly cold days! I love that it's light weight and not bulky. It fits perfectly and the hood stays up and in place without ever slipping off. Well worth the money!

Love this coat! I've only had a it a couple weeks but it has been great. It has plenty of room for extra layers if you want. The length is perfect. Great coat for Vermont weather!

Love my new coat. It fits well, is so light weight and warm. This coat does not make me look like the Michelin man, it has a little silhouette to it.
