So light, but very warm. Feels like you are wearing nothing, and isn't bulky getting in and out of car and other things.

This is just the best jacket! It's so lightweight and really warm. I normally wear a small, but the small was really roomy, so I sized down to an extra small and I love the fit. The inside pocket is perfect for my wallet so that I don't have to carry a purse all the time. I highly recommend this if you are looking for a really warm but super lightweight jacket!

I wear it where ever I go. I thought it would be my dress coat but it is the coat I wear no matter what the occasion. The color is great. It is warm. It is light weight and dressy. So happy I bought it.

Runs a little large which is nice if you're wearing lots of layers under but other than that consider going a side down. Great quality and I love how it packs into its stow away pouch. Definitely would recommend

I love this coat. It is easy to pack and is extremely warm. I layer other LLBean light down jackets under it, also. I love this coat so much that I have purchased two more for gifts.

Fits well. Super comfortable. It's incredible that a coat so very light weight can be so toasty, but it sure is... it's become my favorite!!!

I spent quite a bit of time trying to find the perfect long down jacket. I tried on a handful of different brands and they either were too puffy or too thin, leaked feathers, or were not warm enough. Then I found this one and lemme tell you it is PERFECT! It is my first LL Bean jacket and I am sold. It's not too bulky, it weighs nothing, and is still very warm. I generally wear a light sweater under it and am good, but I could fit another jacket or fleece if I needed more warmth. I am usually a medium in jackets, but the fit of this jacket is a bit off- I ended up exchanging the medium I ordered for a small. It's a little tight in my shoulders, but overall a better fit than the M. It hit a little above my knees and is a flattering fit, there's room for layers but it is not baggy. The material seems durable, but I will be avoiding walking through the forest with it based on other reviews of it ripping. This jacket has been perfect for the cold Utah winter so far and makes me happy to bundle up in it and go outside!

Very light weight, warm, and comfortable. Excellent craftsmanship. It was nice to be able to visit our local Bean store and try on this coat. I determined that I needed a petite size which I ordered. The plum color is nice, but I wish brighter colors were offered in these longer down coats...it really would be a safety factor when we wear these coats in foul weather.

The winters seem to be getting longer and colder, and I had a down sweater that just wasn't doing it for me, so I bought this. It's great! I love the hood, the fact that it's lightweight, and WARM, but I also love the length and the feminine shape. The zippered pockets ate a good thing as well, especially the inside one. Great purchase.

I read the reviews and this was exactly what I was looking for. I haven't worn anything else since I bought it a month ago. I wanted something to wear to late fall/early spring kids' sports events, to walk my dogs in during the NE winters, and for an upcoming trip. It is sooo comfy, feels so light, really is water resistant, blocks the wind, and has great pockets. I also love the tapered look. It is also long enough to keep my legs warm from the wind, buffer the cold bleachers, and wear with longer sweaters/tops that other jackets didn't cover. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE IT!

I have had this coat for a month and I am very happy with it. It is extremely light but very warm. I have been wearing it to walk on the beach early in the morning and it really protects me from the wind. I highly recommend it.

I absolutely love this coat, it's light yet very well insulated and the length hits me just about the knees. The sizing in the coats is way off, I'm normally a small in coats in other brands but had to purchase a petite xs in this coat to get the right fit and still have coat to wear a thicker sweater underneath. Overall, I'm very pleased with this purchase just need to figure out the right size!

Great coat and I am picky. Light, packable, warm and comfortable. Material almost stretches as you move. I got the plum. I bought large which was ok but returned for medium regular. Perfect.

I live in Houston, TX. This coat is perfect fornhere keeps me very warm for typical winters here. My job means travel, this coat is perfect for that. It weighs nothing and packs easily, squishing down to. I thing in a suitcase, or I can stuff it into its stuff pocket and shrink it for easy carry. It fits me well with ease of movement in my arms. The hood holds itself up nicely. On windy cold days, I add a knit cap for ear protection. Plum color goes with everything.

I wore this coat on a trip to France last week. It was just the right weight to keep me warm and dry during cool, sometimes rainy weather. I originally thought it would be too long since I am so short, but it was just the right coverage for the cool, breezy weather. I just wore a lightweight sweater under it. I got the Navy since I didn't want another black coat.

I have the coat in a petite medium. Very comfortable. If you want to wear a layer under it would need to order up a size. I can wear a fleece under but it is a little snug. It is warm but in extremely cold would need a fleece under. Very happy with the purchase.

Awesome jacket!

I wanted a mid-length winter coat and had looked at many. The Ultralight 850 down coat caught my eye immediately because it was lightweight, not bulky and very warm; perfect for winters in Maine! It is stylish, fits perfectly and is made well. I purchased this coat in ash heather and love it. Definitely a great coat!

I have worn this coat 2 or 3 times now since the weather has gotten cooler. It is warm and comfortable for cool days in the 40's. I plan to take this coat on vacation this winter since it will not take up much room in my suitcase.

In early November, I'm looking forward to a cold Illinois winter. Then I can see how warm it really keeps me! But I wore it yesterday on a very blustery, half rainy walk, and was very comfortable.

I just got this coat in Mariner Blue - gorgeous color. I am 5'8" and 145 pounds. I have long legs and arms. I was really worried the sleeves would not be long enough. They are! They rest at the very bottom part of my wrist just above the thumb. Usually sleeves are too short!. The length is perfect! This coat stops just about 5 inches above my knee. Perfect coat! Now in Colorado the wind and weather can get to 0 so that will be the test. Rainy off and on today - when I have been outside, light rain - the coat shell is dry! The temp is about 40 degrees. I normally wear an 8 - 10 in all clothes and this medium coat is large enough for me to wear a bulky sweater and a long sleeve tee shirt under it. Very warm even in the cold wind! The fit is perfect - zipped all the way up. Hood is perfect - very cold wind a short while ago walking the dogs. I put the hood up and warm! I highly recommend this coat!
