Love it! Hadn't bought a winter coat in over 12 years, and I couldn't believe that a coat this light and not puffy could be so warm.

I love this coat! I wanted a mid length coat that was warmer than my down sweaters, but not too big and bulky, and this coat was just that. It has the double zipper, which I use every time I wear it, and it is just perfect with leggings. I loved it so much that I ordered two more colors, and I plan to wear it from now till summer! I highly recommend it. I live in Colorado.

True to size and very warm , lightweight and comfortable

I have worn the hoodless style of this coat as my daily coat for the past 7 winters and have loved it. The coat is still like new but the zipper recently started acting wonky. So I ordered this style with a hood for extra warmth for next winter while my size was in stock. It's just as advertised.warm but lightweight. Washes well. Great with jeans or with a dress. Slightly nipped at the waist so no Michelin man look!

I wanted a longer down coat that wasn't too heavy. This one is perfect. Fit was great.

I just love this coat! I didn't think I would but I am delighted. It is surprisingly warm, very cuddly and works well as a car coat. I really didn't think it would be as warm as my heavy, long, Italian wool coat - but I was wrong. I had a friend comment that it was awfully thin and it is. But it is also very, very warm and will work in most winter days. I really don't understand how they make this coat work without it being bulky. I have worn it to my son's tennis tournaments when it's freezing cold outside and stayed very comfortable. I like for my hips to be warm, and this does the trick. I get lots and lots of compliments with it. Also, it packs very well. I have already used it on one trip (because I bought late in the season), and plan to take it to Texas in a week because of chilly nights. The coat seems to adjust well to a fluctuation in temperature. It has a cute little pocket built into the coat that you can stuff the coat into, or just smash it down and fluff it before wearing. The shoulders and armholes are not quite designed right for me - they are a bit narrow. I used to be a swimmer. I have found this to be true for many of LL Beans' apparel. I bought this coat 2 sizes too big because I wanted to be able to wear a sweater, sweatshirt, etc under it if I wanted to. It is not snug on me because I wanted it that way, despite current styles. But it is a lovely color, and great design. The only other criticism is that the outer fabric is a bit delicate. If you catch it on something, say a twig, or something like that, it could easily tear. If LL Bean could do something with this coat, I would say a rip-stop fabric, and widen the shoulders a bit to accommodate bulkier winter clothing. The cost of the coat is up there, and these two minor changes would make it more competitive with other companies. This coat is a win! I know I will smile when I pull it back out next winter. Thank you LL Bean for the nice surprise and the almost perfect coat.

Bought this coat for my trip to Antarctica, in the summer. Temps about 30 with high winds and high humidity. Great coat!

This is the second Ultralight 850 Down Coat that I have purchased. It is the best coat, and my last coat didn't have a hood. I actually prefer having a hood. It is good in all weather-snow to rain.

The jacket is so light, warm and it goes down right above my knees which I really like.

Styled to perfection, trim, has shape, warm, good for wearing with jeans, leggings, boots. Love the charcoal color.

This is a perfect coat for me: fit/weight/length. I have shoulder problems & easy to put on/good zipper /outside pockets with zip & storage pockets inside. Best mid wt. winter coat I've ever had & I'm a Great - Grandmother. Would recommend to a friend.

Recently purchased the down hooded coat, petite large & I'm pleased with it. It is very light as advertised & warm! The fit is roomy & the petite medium may have been okay but I like to be able to add a sweater or sweat shirt if needed.

I really love the style and quality of this coat! I'm 5'3 and have a small frame and petite XS fits me great in terms of coat length and sleeve length. Sadly I had to return it in the end because even the XS is too wide around the waist and butt, and as a result not very warm because cold air gets in from under. If there is a petite XXS size, I'll definitely come back to get one. One of the best winter coats I've tried on.
