With most other online clothing companies, I take a large in a mid layer top like this. This large LLBean product was too big for me. I continue to have a problem with LLBean products using a different sizing standard than most other companies. To make it worse, they seem to change the sizing from time to time, i.e., a shirt that fit me last year won't fit me this year.

Ordered jacket in tall as LLBean regular fit items are too short for me. The sleeve length is too long by about two inches. This problem seems like it could be diverted by adding elastic to the cuffs or shortening the sleeves. Many other reviewers have complained about the sleeve length. Now I roll the sleeves up a little and it works but looks odd as the inside of the jacket sleeves is different material than exterior material. I would have recommended this jacket if it was not for the sleeve issue. Love the rest of it.

Body fits amazing but Bean has got to redesign the horrible collar that's way too tall. I have not worn the collar zipped up at all since I bought this. The collar is not only unnecessarily tall but stiff. Such a shame because the body and arms fits amazing.

This was the fourth version of this coat I have bought over several years. I never had any previous problems with the fit. This time, the coat was too narrow across the chest, but too baggy at the hips. Also, the drawstring across the bottom of the coat is apparently no longer part of the design of the coat. I returned the coat.

L L Bean offered a finish looking fleece a few years back that was a great looking jacket. That's what I was looking for. it was great for hiking or for traveling. I'm a skinny guy and this jacket makes me look like I have a beer belly!

Although this jacket fits nicely and is very warm, when I started wearing it it immediately formed "pickies," and it looks quite old. I have used my pill killer on it and that works but they pills form again as soon as I wear it, especially on the arms and inside. I do not do a lot of manual work so it is just from daily life. Again, it is very warm so I am wearing it as I live in Alaska but way it wears makes me wish I hadn't purchased it.

I purchased the red color of this sweater fleece last fall. After wearing a few times, the fabric around the pockets has pilled excessively. Fit and inside fleece fabric is fine.

I had expected the jacket to have elastic cuffs and it didn't. I know I have short arms but this usually conpensates for that. The jacket was also way to large through the chest. It may have been mislabeled from an XL

Jacket fit and looked great out of the package, but very quickly pilled up and the fibers separated at pressure points. Returning this one.

This Fleece is very difficult to put on while wearing a long sleeve shirt as the fleece in the sleeves catch on the material of the shirt sleeve. This is true even after washing it. I should have just sent it back.

Not happy with how this fleece sweater has pilled after only a couple of months of moderate wear.

I recently purchased this sweater fleece in early December (so less than 2 months ago) and it is already beginning to pill on the sides - majorly. I don't wear the jacket everyday nor do I put it through any extreme conditions. I am very disappointed in the quality - not up to LL Bean standards. I purchased this sweater instead of other the more expensive name brand, however, I will be returning this jacket and buying a different one. Beyond the cosmetic quality, the jacket itself is warm and does a good job of keeping me warm (particularly when used as a layer).

I love the style and fit of this fleece. It's warm enough for a few minutes outside on a cold Midwestern winter day, but not so heavy that it can't be worn around the house. The quality, however, was disappointing. After the first washing, there was noticable pilling. Had I already had it for a few years, that wouldn't be a problem, but it's completely unacceptable for a new piece of clothing from a quality retailer like LL Bean.

This jacket was well constructed with good quality fabric. The llbean logo is brightly colored and situated so that it is one of the most noticeable features of the garment. It looks almost like an company's employee label. The logo cannot be removed because the fabric underneath it is of a different color. It s likely to be returned, what a shame!

This jacket looks great and is warm enough, but I wish I hadn't purchased it. It is hard to put your arms through the sleeves unless you are wearing a short sleeved shirt. The fleece inside seems to grab your shirt sleeves and bunch everything up - very annoying. It is either the type of fabric or the sleeve is too narrow. Also, the sleeves are so long, I have to roll them up.

This jacket is extremely high quality and I really like it overall. I am disappointed that I will not be able to wear it because the sleeves are very long and with no elastic in the cuffs, the sleeves fall down over my hands. I have another LL Bean soft shell jacket that has a similar issue, but I was able to wear it since it has thicker fleece lining at the cuffs and the sleeves do not fall down over hands as bad. It still frustrates me though as I have to repeatedly tug up the sleeves while wearing it. I really did not want to give an LL Bean product a bad review as every other item I have purchased has been of the best quality I have ever experienced, I just wish they would put elastic or some type of wrist closure in the jackets.

I've worn LL Bean fleece jackets for at least the last 15 years. They don't make them like they used to. The fleece is different. I guess it could be considered a nicer look, but not what I was expecting. The biggest issue is the sizing of the sleeves. The jacket fits like a sweater -- tight on the arms. Maybe with a short sleeve shirt or a non-knit fabric long sleeve shirt it would work. Not worth the hassle for me.

I really like the material and design of this fleece and it has the usual LL Bean quality, but the cut is very unflattering. It's very boxy and wide in the waist. LL Bean is clearly targeting old men with big beer bellies with this fleece. If you are athletic or trim you will have all kinds of extra material in the waist and it will be a very unflattering look. It's too bad because it's very well made, but I think the LL Bean demographic of middle aged dudes is probably driving the decision to cut the design to be very boxy.

Generally I would rate this jacket highit fits fine except for the sleeves. It is described in the catalogue as slightly fitted with relaxed chest and sleeves. The sleeves are definitely not "relaxed"they are so snug (and I don't have Popeye arms!) that when I put the jacket on my regular cotton shirt sleeves are caught by the fleece and forced up my arm as far as they can go. Maybe this is a manufacturing defect. I will be returning the jacket after wearing it fewer than five times.

Fit would have been great except the sleeves were about 2" too long, called LLBean told them about it and was told they couldn't alter them. Have brought the jacket to a seamstress to have the sleeves altered, it's still there so don't know what the cost will be but I do know it will end up being a lot more that I would have paid for

My only reason for rating this two stars is because imho all this jacket needs to be great is some sort of drawstring or elastic hem at the bottom. When I bought this I was looking for a nice, less technical fleece jacket that I could pull off at work. I love the Bean sweater fleece and own the pullover. The fabric to me seems superior to other outdoor brands and costs less in most all cases. I'm 6'1", 185 lbs, 41" chest, 32" waist athletic build. I ordered a Medium which fit me well in the shoulders, but the jacket just ballooned out at the bottom which I didn't care for. On a colder day it wouldn't be helpful and it didn't have that streamlined look I was going for. I can't say enough good things about the quality of the construction or the awesome fabric, but I had to return based on the fit. Perhaps they'll come out with a version in the Signature line or add some sort of cinching to the bottom in the future. I'll definitely grab one if they do.

I don't know how well it will hold up over time, but I have to say this: I really dislike the bright and hard to overlook logo on the jacket. I have no interest in advertising for a company, and don't appreciate that LL Bean has started doing this. I spent a half hour on a tedious removal, hoping that I wouldn't damage the jacket.

I tried this sweater on today. The fit was good and the quality was up to LL Bean standards. The product failed me when I looked at my profile while checking the fit. It had gone well up to the when I noticed that back of the sweater was an inch or two longer than the front. It may be the style, but fails to meet "middle america" traditional fit. I would have purchased the sweater. Stick with what works. Trendy is not LL Bean's ball of wax.

It developed pilling almost immediately after wearing it. Poor quality and not worth the price!
