I was disappointed in the xl shirt I purchased. Frankly it was the same material and pattern as the pajamas I'd purchased earlier. I'm concerned that over the last few years I've seen a decline in quality and sizing of your clothing. I'm not a new customer- the first article I bought from LL Bean was in 1957- and over the years I've purchased many clothing items. But I'm not sure the quality is the same. I find myself more and more willing to look elsewhere for clothing. I'm sorry this is the case, I wish it weren't.

I give my husband an LL Bean flannel shirt each Christmas. The size is always Regular/Medium. This year the shirt is overall too large. The sleeve length is over an inch longer than his other shirts. The second-to-top button is at least an inch lower than that of his other shirts causing too much tee shirt to be exposed under the flannel. Customer service reps have indicated that sizing may vary based on location of manufacture and have offered a replacement. We'll try again.

This shirt has torn completely through at the buttons - on both sides - of the button down collar. So disappointing. I have not experienced this with any other of my husband's shirts ever. LL Bean's reputation is based on high quality and durability but this product falls far short. I will not be ordering again anytime soon.

I have a closetful of these Scotch plaid flannel shirts. all of which I love. I try to purchase a new one at least once per year. Imagine my consternation and disappointment when I unwrapped this shirt at the end of November (2019) and found UNMATCHED PLAIDS at one side seam!
How can you ship out such shoddy merchandise over your name? Where is your quality control?

The color (shade) of the shirt did not match the color (shade) of the shirt in the L.L. Bean sales brochure used to place the order.

I should have reviewed this purchase a year ago. I bought this for my husband because he's been happy with other LL Bean products.
This shirt lacks the quality the previous one I ordered nearly 2 years prior. The material is pilling on this one & there is an obvious difference in the material. The only difference I can see is this one is made in El Salvador & the other from Malaysia.
For the price, I expected better quality.

I have a half-dozen LLBean flannel shirts in my closet. But this one - If this isn't mislabeled as to size, the buyer who approved it for Bean should be re-assigned. The shirt is WAY too large - sleeves something line 1.5 inches longer than another LLBean flannel (wicked good) purchased in the same order, shoulder seams drooping off my shoulders.
I come to LLBean because it's a reliable, predictable source for good-quality clothing. I HOPE this is just a one-time aberration, but it's not a good sign. This shirt is not the size I ordered, and not the size it's labeled as. It's being returned.
It's a shame - beautiful fabric, seems well-constructed...but I can't wear it.

Flannel shirts from LL Bean USED to be fabulous---washed well and lasted for years.
Sadly, no more. They look like cheap rags after a few washings. The fabric pills horribly and honestly, the ones that I have bought at department stores for less than a third of the cost of the Bean shirts look better after a winter of washing them.
I bought two Bean flannel shirts for my husband after his old Bean shirts finally wore out (after at least twenty years!) and didn't mind paying the price for what I thought would be high quality shirts. I was very surprised at the poor quality of the fabric.
I will never buy another flannel shirt from LL Bean after seeing what happened to those two shirts after washing them.

For some years now the shirts are decidedly sub-standard. They wash up as a rough facsimile of the originals. They continually shed their material in the washer & especially in the dryer until they are threadbare. I have had to send in six or more shirts in recent years for "examination" and eventual replacement. To their credit, they were replaced but, they are not what they used to be. They should return to the standards of LL himself!

I have always purchased LL Bean flannel shirts for their looks, quality, and durability. Sadly, this shirt falls short on all counts. The material seems thinner than previous shirts, giving it a wrinkled appearance. It is also not smooth flannel but has a fuzzy appearance and feel. After three washings it is beginning to pill. Very disappointing. Should have returned it.

Purchased these shirts before. Prior quality was very good and fit properly. Purchased another shirt and the sleeves were two inches longer than previous shirts. Looks like an issue of quality control.

Product was well finished with nice flannel of good weight. Sizing was way off. In the "wicked good" flannels, a large fits me perfectly. In this flannel, a large was at 4" too wide around the chest - more like an 2x large in other sizes.

I bought this shirt as a gift for my husband, who has been wearing the same type item from LL Bean for many, many years. I had to return this one because the sleeves were so far out of proportion to the rest of the shirt that it was unwearable. The basic style and quality of construction are as good as ever, but I will wait until the company corrects its sizing before trying this again.

I have always purchased the Wicked Good flannel shirts for my husband. They look great and come out of the dryer perfect. They now only have one pattern choice that I ordered which is nice. I decided to order the Scotch shirt because it comes in plaids. After washing once in lukewarm water and low dryer setting, the shirt looks awful. It is wrinkled and puckered and will soon pill. I looks like it has been worn for years. I have returned it. Please bring back more Wicked Good shirts in more patterns.

The shirt fit perfectly, however after the first washing & drying the shirt shrunk and it came out of the dryer all wrinkled. I am returning this product. My other LL Bean flannel shirts ( Item ID's 299132 & 253771 are prefect )

I bought 4 of these shirts last fall. After a few washings each, all have pilled badly and look cheap. Very disappointing, especially for the price. I've owned Portugese flannel shirts from other sellers that never pilled. Did I say disappointing?

I am very disappointed in this product. When it comes out of the dryer, it looks like a pajama top rather than a shirt. I will never buy one of these again. I hope you will carry a wider selection of the "wicked good" flannel shirts in the future. I have been very satisfied with those.

What a disappointment! I bought this shirt in the Black Watch color for my son for Christmas. It has only been washed a few times and has already started pilling. It looks horrible. The fabric is definitely not up to LL Bean standards. I notice there are other reviews stating the same thing, so it's not just me. I will never buy another flannel shirt from LL Bean.

I got this shirt as a gift. Out of the box the shirt looks and feels cheap. Light weight. It is comfortable, but not what I had expected from L.L. Bean. I hadn't bought anything from L.L. Bean in a while. If this is indicative of their current level of quality, then I won't be looking to them for anything in the future. Some of my favorite shirts are L.L. Beans that I've had for years and years. Kind of a shame. I wouldn't have bought this shirt if I saw it hanging in a store. It's not any better than anything else you can get off the rack at a major department store, and you don't have to deal with the hassle of ordering it online. I say hassle because I had to return the shirt I was originally gifted because it was too big. It literally took weeks to get it returned and replaced. Everyone on the phone was super nice and apologetic, but it was so obvious that they were waaaaay understaffed, and it showed. Just not worth it. Glad it was a gift.

This is about the sixth flannel shirt I purchased from LLBean.
All the others were of high quality fabric and I loved every one. The pilling on this one started immediately. The fabric seems less sturdy and it looks sloppy. Where was the the quality control? I might have to toss it.

I purchased the "Black Watch" style of this shirt. I have short arms (32 inches) and it fit perfectly. I just feel sorry for the average person that has regular length arms and it would be short. The quality of the fabric is abysmal. It looks like an old sweater that has a lot of piling. It has only been washed about three times. It collects everything. I had to remove the "trim fit" label because it rubbed the back of my neck like crazy. I've only had the shirt about six months and I will proceed to put it in the trash. I am sure this product is made in a foreign country for a "price." Your company can do better. Good luck!

I purchased this shirt based on other flannel shirts I purchased in the past. As soon as I tried it on, I realized the sleeves were not right. I measured the length of the right sleeve and it measured 1 1/2 inches longer than the left sleeve. Plus the fabric was a lot different from previously purchased flannel shirts. I immediately sent it back.
