The old school 'open collar' flannel shirts that Bean used to sell were a much better feel and look. Also the old school, pearl white buttons just felt (and looked) real. Not a cost effective substitute.

Love LL Bean stuff, but this shirt was tight in the torso, tight in the shoulders and long in the arms. Not made for folks with broad shoulders. Quality was great and the shirt was the nice kind of soft, but sadly was ill-fitting.

Recently purchased this shirt for my husband and brother-in-law. The flannel is really thin and is pilling. I have purchased dozens of these shirts, as they are the only shirts my husband has worn for years. Really disappointed with the quality.

Apparently "regular fit" means you are very overweight. The medium tall swallowed my 6'2 average build husband. Shirt itself is beautiful but I have no confidence in the cut so won't be exchanging, just returning.

I've been buying LLBean flannel shirts for at least 15 years, and all of them are in really good shape, a little shrinkage, a little pilling for the oldest - except the ones offered in the 24/25 season. I have two of those, and the fabric is more pilled than any of the others. Nice plaids and fit, but there is not the same quality of flannel. I can see why they were offered at a cheaper price than previously. I won't be purchasing any more like those.

Returned it because of cheap construction. Plaids were so obviously unmatched it looked like something from a discount store. Where is quality control?

A little disappointed with the last men's plaid flannel shirts. My husband had 3 of these plaid shirts & they are wonderful. These last 2 he got seem to have an abundance of "pills" after washing (the previous ones never did). We were disappointed. The material just doesn't feel the same as his other LL Bean flannel shirts!

I bought my elderly father two flannel shirts for Christmas, soon after second and third washing's, these shirts were noticeably and pilling. We have been buying these flannel shirts for many years and the fabric quality was always great. His old shirts are in better condition than these recently purchased ones. It's unfortunate because for the money the quality is no longer what one expects from LL Bean.

Thes have been my favorite flannels for years. The last one I bought must have been designed for a monkey. The sleeves are ridiculously long. So much for my favorite flannels. Where is reasonably administered QC these days.

The gold colors didn't come out enough, looks very muted and dull. Also, the shirt feels bigger than an XL. I've worn LL Bean XL flannel shirts for years and years, but never had one fit so large. Again, the gold/yellow looks washed out. Not at all like the picture. I'm simply going to return it. Maybe it's just a one off. The other (Scotch Plaid) looks nicer, but the fit is too big.

The medium I first ordered based on the size chart and comparison to other shirts I own was so large it fit my husband who is an XL. The small was much more true to a standard medium. Cost me extra shipping charges due to the poor site sizing.

Beware. The color of the BlueMacKeller shirt is not the same as in the picture online. The shirt's blue and brown is not as bright or distinctive. It is disappointing to me.

I ordered this scotch plaid flannel shirt and another flannel shirt from Bean called "Wicked Good" and the difference is night and day. I understand now why this one is $20 less than the Wicked Good flannel shirt. This scotch plaid flannel shirt looked terrible after only one wash. Surface of fabric 'pills' up and looks shabby. I thought maybe it would go away after several more washes but it did not. If you want a genuinely high quality flannel shirt that will give you more than one year of wear, doesn't shrink, AND LOOKS GREAT TOO wash after wash.....bite the bullet, spend the extra $20 and go with "Wicked Good" instead. Any fabric that pills up like this scotch plaid is clearly made from cheap material. If I were LL Bean, I wouldn't want it in my inventory. It's an embarrassment.

Very unhappy with charge and shipping. I received this as a shirt I wanted to wear for a family Christmas party. I tried it on and it was too big. I filled out the appropriate form and sent it back for an exchange for the right size. I was very unhappy when I notified that I would have to pay $6.50 for shipping. Really? No other company has ever charged me for shipping on a return. Than I was notified that I would not receive the new size until after Christmas. This is totally unacceptable. I sent the return several weeks before Christmas. Needless to say I am very unhappy with your company and your return process. It makes me not want to do business with you in the future.

Slight disappointment. If you like other flannel shirts in the LL Bean line, be aware that this one is not the same substantial weight. It's OK, but just not quite up to snuff with the others. (Unless if course, the flannels have all been lightened up since I bought the others?)

Recently purchased their "wicked" flannel shirt and it is not lick pervious flannel shirts. The quality i.e. thickness is not the same. The price however keeps going up but the quality keeps going down. This will be the last shirt I buy from LL BEAN.

These used to be such rugged and well made shirts. Essentially department store quality at this point, but for designer prices. I don't know if LL has been acquired or is just under new leadership but the quality is in a free fall nose dive. Bought two of these and the amount of pilling after 2 washes makes them embarrassing to wear. The fading of the colors is similarly poor and when combined with little cost cutting measures like removing the inner button under the sleeve cuff just leave this garment feeling like cheap fast fashion tripe, not the quality product this company built its reputation on. Another one bites the dust.

My husband has worn Bean's shirts for many years. Since retirement, the plaid flannel has become his winter wardrobe. The same shirts are now two inches longer than his old favorites and the two I bought him for Christmas this year will need to be professionally hemmed. He is 5'9".

Sleeve length and shoulder width are correct, but the body of this shirt is way too big. Beyond relaxed, beyond roomy, this is just huge. I am not a skinny guy, but this shirt seems to be sized for someone much heavier than me. I like the fabric and pattern, but this shirt is completely unwearable.

I was very disappointed in the two flannel shirts I purchased. I always wash new clothing before wearing. After following all washing directions, there was significant piling on both shirts before they were worn even once. LL Bean's flannel used to be much better quality. The prices go up and the quality sinks.
