Have a number from the past. Just bought 2 new scotch plaid two xl. Old shirts rest at the wrist. New shirts after washing fit to the knuckles of my hand. Body is big enough to wear a a t shirt and an old scotch plaid under it. All shirts 2xl traditional fit. Fits like 2xl tall relaxed fit.

For the price of this item, I was disappointed after one wash on my delicate cycle. The fabric felt like beautiful soft flannel when I first purchased this, but after one washing in cold water on my delicate cycle, the flannel looked pilled. It made the shirt look old, even though it was only worn a few times and washed once. Disappointing for sure.

These flannel shirts would be great. But they shrink like we are back in the sixties. That is absolutely ridiculous in this day and age!!!

Armpits too small for an XL, making for uncomfortable fit. Also, fit could also be improved by relaxing seam at shoulders, which needs to be much smoother.

This xxl shirt is not as big as the same xxl flannel shirts I purchased from LL Bean a couple years ago. It's smaller across the chest and stomach. Also there is a crease down the middle of the button hole strip which creases outward when the buttons are buttoned. Not as happy with this flannel as the same style from a couple of years ago.

Fit is okay but tail is too long. I often like to where my flannels without tucking in the tail, not really an option with this shirt and its a lot to tuck in. Also miss the extra button above sleeve cuff. Washed it once and its already getting fuzzy. Guess I'm stuck with it. On the positive side the color is nice, indigo tartan.

Good quality shirt as I expected. The problem was is that the sleeve ratio to shirt size was way off. The sleeve extended to the lose joint on the longest finger. This is about 5.5 inches to long.
I had to return this shirt.

This looked much better on the site than it did when received. Colors are brighter. Not what I expected.

The quality of the shirts doesn't seem to be as good as it used to be. Two older shirts I own still are in good condition but two newer ones ended their useful lives prematurely because of holes in the elbows.

Ordered on line but when arrived I didn't like color. I visited the Freeport store hoping to exchange for another color of same type of shirt. Limited selection and the color I would have liked was back ordered until April. Winter is over then (for the most part) so I returned this item.

I was warned that LLBean runs big, and was told to size down (in this case from M to S). Small was still too big! And they don't have XS in Men's, so that Christmas gift was a bust. So be aware of that. Otherwise, nice-looking shirt.

Bean has always been reliable with sizes.
When I buy my spouse a Large and it has always fit fine,
Not this Christmas.
The sleeves on the blue plaid shirt are too long,
and the rest is also a little large.

I've ordered medium size shirts from LLB for decades. The size for this one is huge, both in the chest and sleeve length.

Not sure what has happened to "flannel" but it certainly is not as thick and sturdy as in years past. Looks very flimsy and wrinkly when on. Not the usual LLBEAN quality. Also more of a slightly tapered fit than traditional fit through body.

I don't know how people can write things like "Best flannels ever". Mine have all started out great and then pilled up like crazy within a year. The fabric has also gotten coarser, making them not very comfortable to wear. Just sad for this price point.

In general, I like Bean's Scotch Plaid Shirts. I have previously purchased seven over the course of the last 5 or six years -- all are Traditional Fit, size Large. Those have all fit me perfectly - out of the box. Just received my order of three new Scotch Plaid shirts -- same size as my old ones. The new shirts fit like a tent. The sleeves came down to my past knuckles and the shoulder width was about 2 inches greater than the old shirts. Checked country of origin and found they are made in a different country than my old ones. I assume this may be the reason for the different cut but, if it is, I think it is a poor reflection on Bean's quality control. Clothing should be cut from the same pattern regardless of where it's made. Returned shirts for same in Mediums. Holding my breath that they will not be too small.

This shirt seemed very nice, well made. I am fairly slim, and i was shocked how large the large shirt was. my problem is a medium is too small in the shoulders and too short in the arms. 2 stars for fit

I used your guide to selecting the size for me, and I ordered the large as per that recommendation. It is too big for me.
