the large size of this apparently well made shirt was much larger than any large size shirt I have ever bought. Had to send it back for refund.

My XXLT shirt fits fine -- not quite like my all time favorite sun-washed canvas shirts, but fine. The sleeve length is just fine for tall sizing, BTW.
My complaint is with the fabric quality. Holy cow did this shirt shed a lot of lint for the fist half-dozen washings! I had to clean the drains in my laundry room there was so much. And the finish of the shirt is now pilled all over. Small pills -- not severe at all -- but still kinda unsightly.
The fabric seems kind of stretchy too, which might be the root cause of the other comments that the shirt seems baggy.
I keep washing this one hoping that eventually it'll acquire a nice slightly-worn flannel finish. That doesn't look like it's gonna happen.
This'll be the last of these that I add to my closet.

The product looks good but the sleeves are way to long for a regular sized shirt! The yarn dyed material is very nice and plush!

Fit and feel was perfect on these shirts. I have had a few in the past and loved them. However, the other reviewers are dead on about the "pilling" after the first wash! I could not believe the amount of pills especially on the Black Watch one. I have had to work hard to get them all off.
Hopefully, they will not show up after more washings! Other than that, excellent flannels!

I am tremendously disappointed that you are no longer offering the Wicked Good flannel shirts. This flannel shirt, the Men's Scotch Plaid, is not made as long lasting. After washing, this shirt loses a lot of fibers in the dryer, and becomes "wimpy." The Wicked Good stood up to many more washings, didn't lose shape or pill, and looked new for a long time. I will not be buying any more of the Scotch Plaid flannel.

I bought this in the large regular fit and it was very "baggy" right out of the package, also the sleeves are very long. I thought that it may shrink up after a couple of washes but it's still the same. I'm 6'2"
so to have sleeves this long on a large, regular fit tells me that it was sized incorrectly, but that's the way with LL Bean nowadays, not the LL Bean we grew up with.

I bought 2 of these shirts in L tall in different color plaids. The blue plaid shirt was a full inch shorter in the sleeve and 2 inches shorter in the shirt length. I buy tall for my husband because he needs the extra length. The one shirt is sized similar to a regular and will be going back to llbean. I expect better consistency in size for the price of these shirts.

Quality of workmanship is excellent but quality control is poor. I have purchased five shirts from LL Bean over the past twelve months, all small in size but the sleeve length vary as much as 2 inches from the shortest to the longest. This is very frustrating to say the least. I can't believe LL Bean can't manage to have their manufacturers held to a +- 1/2 inch tolerance on all their long sleeve shirts.

Nice looking shirt, but the sleeves are too long. I have two older shirts of this item and the sleeves are fine, but this new shirt's sleeves are still too long after the first washing. Otherwise, the shirt is of good quality.

I like shirts to be roomy, but this one is huge. I wish I'd gotten the slightly fitted one.

I decided to try a flannel shirt other than the "Wicked Good" ones that are the best flannel shirts I've ever owned. Unlike the "Wicked Good" ones they don't come out of the dryer needing no ironing. The bottom edges curl up and the material does not lie as flat. These shirts are about the same as I would expect from a department store in quality. I did not return the shirt but it is not of sufficient quality to buy another.

Sleeves are way too long; extremely long. Otherwise, it's a nice shirt.

I ordered this shirt in the Graham of Mentieth color for my husband. The color looks so bright and colorful in the picture. The shirt is actually more subtile. Not sure of the fit yet but the thickness of the flannel is also nothing to brag about.

I bought my husband several of these a few years ago and they have held up well. They are great shirts.
I ordered this one for him for Christmas in the same size he already has, but this new one is HUGE! It is at least one size too large. I hope to exchange it for a better fit, because it really is a great shirt.

I'm 5'10/190 and normally wear a regular large shirt. In the past few years I have ordered regular large shirts from some other companies online only to find them too small. I ordered this shirt in the large regular and the large slightly fitted. I was swimming in the regular large and the slightly fitted large was also too roomy. Quality, good looking flannel. I'll reorder in both medium sizes and see if that works.

VERY thin cotton material. Not the "Flannel" I was expecting.
Save your money.

LL Bean's flannel shirts are now made in Guatemala, no longer Canada. These Guatemalan shirts are just a little bit smaller, shorter sleeves. Just for anyone's edification.

This is a handsome flannel shirt. I bought it for my tall thin husband. Unfortunately the shirt fit, but the sleeves did not. Granted he is 6'5" so not the average height.

Nice shirt, but much lighter than I expected. Fits well. Haven't washed it yet to see how it holds up. Arrived timely and in good shape. Nice colors.

The shirt is lovely but too large. Sleeves are extra long. Overall length is too long - reaches to my knees.

I love the warmth of the shirt, the look is great as well. However, after just a single wash the back has started to pill a bit. Other than that, I have zero complaints. Its a very stylish, warm, and comfortable shirt. You guys are an incredible company and I am proud to share a state with you.

I have a Black Watch medium I bought 2 years ago which fits me nicely - (and did from the beginning - not a matter of washing) - just put on a Grey Stewart in M which was delivered today and I'm swimming in it - sleeves too long and just way too big all around -I'm going to have to return it and- unfortunately the S is on back order - I think that's what I'm going to need, much to my surprise, given I have an M that fits perfectly. Once again I missed getting a Grey Stewart by Christmas though I thought I was safe ordering the same size. [last year I was too late and it sold out - honestly you'd think they'd manage to keep basics like this in stock!].
Rather disappointed - was looking forward to this. (The cloth really is beautiful).

Bean's shirts have gotten progressively larger over the years. The 2 medium shirts we purchased were far too large in all dimensions, much larger than past medium shirts of the same model. The small is smaller in the chest, but not much less in the length compared to a medium. Call customer service and get the exact shirt dimension then measure yourself before ordering. Bean provides this information, unlike many other on-line retailers.
Otherwise, they are attractive, comfortable, good-quality shirts.

As is the usual case, the size, medium, was more like a large. The sleeves were about 6 inches too long and the body was very blousy. I know I have an unusual size, but every time I order clothing from Bean, they don't fit. No more. The quality is great and the delivery service, likewise. Also, shoes. For all my adult life, I have worn size 7, medium. On those occasions when I have purchased shoes, they were too tight.
I am sorry but I can no longer purchase clothing from L.L. Bean.
