Surprisingly disappointed, the fit is odd, the material not great and, after washing, wrinkled and misshaped.
I have older Bean flannels that are great, as well as other stores shirts that are much nicer, less $ too.
I'll continue to buy pants and other items from Beans but never a flannel again. Flannel pajama bottoms just as bad.

Even though I bought a Large Tall, after a couple of washes it had shrunk in the sleeves. Very disappointing.

My last purchase of LL Bean flannel shirts prior to my recent purchase in 11/2020 was in 2011. In the intervening nine years the shirt size grew. My old shirts still fit OK, but the new large size is now too big for me; I should have ordered medium. Other than that, the shirts are beautiful, and the flannel is amazingly soft.

The colors are TOTALLY different irl than what is shown in the photo. The blue is like a navy blue instead of the light color pictured, and the shirt is much more dark and blue than the green that is shown. Also- the price tag was left on the shirt even though it's a gift. I expect better from Beans.

Ordered this flannel and immediately after trying on, I realized it was not going to work. Shoulders and chest, true to size. But the waist was very large and tent like, with it being a tad longer than expected. I'm not a small guy, but this flannel made feel like an even bigger guy than I am. Afraid to go a size smaller because while the waist would fit, I was afraid the shoulders and chest would be to uncomfortable at that point. Sadly, I had to return.

Year before last I ordered my husband 2 of these shirts. They are wonderful. Launder like new.
Last year I ordered my husband 2 of these shirts. They were ready to be used as a rag after one washing. Fuzzy, misshaped, he never wore them again! I have to feel that others had this same experience. Which type of 100% cotton flannel are you selling this year?

The first time I wore this shirt is became a wrinkled mess. Far too much trouble for a flannel shirt. The color is good and the fit is fair, but I do not want to have to iron a flannel shirt every time I wear it. Can't recommend.

This is the 3rd Scotch Plaid Flannel I've purchased . The other ones fit perfectly but this is too long both in the arms and the shirt bottom.

When I opened the package, the shirt had a strong smoky odor. Very disappointed.

I'm done with shirts from LL Bean because the sleeves are always way too long. In a dress shirt, I wear size 15-1/2 neck and 32/33 sleeve length. This shirt does not provide any option on sleeve length, but I'm guessing it's equivalent to 34/35. (I bought the medium regular, not the tall.) Several years ago, I bought a few sporty dress shirts from LL Bean which looked really nice but also had sleeves that were too long. They also were size medium regular. So I was concerned when ordering this one but took a chance. Big mistake. Same problem.

the shirt fit well until we washed it in warm water...then the sleeves were too short. Buy up if you are in between sizes. Soft fabric, good looking plaid.

Waay to big where it shouldn't be. I know, I ordered the Tall double-XL, the largest size they offer. But even when I was bigger (280 lbs.), it was way to wide at the bottom. And way to long on the sides. The sleeves were ok though. But just too much fabric around the middle. I've got lots of XXL Tall shirts and none fit me like this. These fit like an 3XL or bigger. For some fabrics this probably isn't so bad. I've got an LL Bean seersucker shirt in XXL Tall and traditional fit and it's fine. But for that heavier flannel fabric it's just too much. I'm going to have to send these back and get a smaller size.

I ordered a large version of this shirt, which I love the pattern, the material, etc. But when I got it, it was very big on me and hung half way down my thighs. I usually wear a large in most sport shirts. I ordered a medium of the same shirt for my father in law. When I gave it to him, it was too big for him. When I tried on his medium, it fit me perfectly. LL Bean calls this shirt a traditional fit. I call it excessively large compared to other shirt manufacturers. If you need it bigger around the girth, longer sleeves and an longer tail, it may be perfect for you. But I found that I need to back up a size from what I normally wear to get a good fit.

This shirt does not have the same fit as the same shirt previously made in Canada. Now that LLBean has farmed out the manufacturing to cheaper China-made, it is not as nice of a shirt fabric or fit. Back pleat is more skimpy, fabric is thinner, looser weave maybe, body 2" shorter and narrower, sleeves a bit longer. Stitching shrinks up after washing. Colors and softness are nice.

Husband really likes this shirt. Me, not so much! Shirt very wrinkled out of dryer, requires ironing every time it's laundered. Have purchased many of these flannels over the years and this is the first that has needed ironed before you can wear it. Disappointed!

While this is a man's shirt, I often buy them because the colors are so much better than the women's options!! And I like them sized a bit more generously so I can wear a turtleneck sweater underneath. The large would normally be big on me, but doable. This one was so long it almost hit my knees, and I'm 5'8". I was disappointed, because it is a nice shirt. And LL Bean - if you are listening, PLEASE use better colors for women!! For those of us that spend a lot of time outdoors, the light colors are not ideal. Men's shirts have much better colors !! Please make women's in the same colors so we can stop buying ill-fitting men's shirts!

I ordered the shirt based on the photo shown for "MacBeth Old Colours", but when I opened the package I was very disappointed by a darker shade of blue. The shade of blue in the photo was the reason I ordered the specific pattern, so I would say beware if you are ordering "MacBeth Old Colours". I know it'll fade over the years, but I was expecting a slightly different color out of the bag.

Disappointing, material thin, collar doesn't look right. Have purchased many flannel shirts from LLBean over the years but this one isn't up to standard.

The shirt is great, but the XL size fits like a 2 or 3 XL. I have several other LL Bean shirts that don't fit like that. I returned the shirt to a store and their XL shirts were also to big. Ended up getting a large that did fit. Something is wrong with the sizing of this type and color of shirt.

The shirt itself is nice, but a large fits like an XXL. Returning for a medium

This shirt is fair as flannel shirts go. I does not compare in quality at all to the Wicked Good Flannel shirt. Unfortunately you can no longer buy the Wicked Good Flannel in plaid colors. Big mistake by Bean!

Looks good, feels good but the sleeves are way too long. I have to roll them up and then they don't lay flat.

The cut of the shirt didn't fit my husband. The shoulder seams were appropriate, and there was more than enough material in the back but not enough across the front. It was very snug across the front and looked odd trying to pull the side seams more to the front to allow for a small belly. Perhaps it would work for another type of build but didn't for his.
