I bought two of your Scotch plaid flannel shirts for myself. The price was fine especially with the extra 10% off. They fit me fine.My complaint is twofold; the material is thin it should be more substantial (planned obsolescence) ? And secondly the color pattern on the Navy tartan was blah, anemic. In stark contrast to your full color top of the page illustration clearly showing green running throughout the pattern .The thinness of the material is what it is but showing a color as something it isn't is not worthy of LLBEAN . You folks are slipping!

I love the colors offered, the feel and the durability of this shirt for my husband. However, he has to have two chest pockets on his shirts. He has a pacemaker and cannot keep his phone in his left chest pocket. He also carries glasses and pens. We'll have to find his flannel shirts somewhere else.

I have owned a million of these shirts in the last 25 years. I ordered one about a month ago and LL Bean added a useless additional label on the collar that states "Relaxed Fit". It is positioned above the LL Bean label. I can try to remove it, but that may damage the collar. I will likely return it.

These are very attractive shirts with a true fit but after they are washed a few times they look like beat up. I followed care instructions, maybe would be better dry-cleaned? Sent mine back

I purchased two of these flannel shirts last winter, one in Royal Stewart and one in Blackwatch. They seem to be well made and are warm and comfortable.
However the fabric seems to have an issue. The blackwatch fabric began to pill after only the second washing. The royal stewart lasted a little longer than that, but it too gained a very fuzzy texture very rapidly.
These are my first LL Bean flannel shirts but by no means my only flannel shirts. I have never had flannel shirts behave this way though have seen similar degradation in flannel sheets. I followed the care instructions on the tag.
All in all it is disappointing because the look is ends up being a little sloppy.

The material is good and the patterns are great, but my only complaint is the sleeve size. I am an average Medium shirt size with a 42 chest. The sleeves are tight when I bend my arms and the only comfortable way to wear the shirt is with rolled-up sleeves. The signature line Flannel shirt has a better fit. Also for an average build, the tail comes out easily with heavy wear.

I was disappointed that I had to iron the shirt to make it look nice.

For me, I was disappointed I did not get the same shirt using the same item number as the first two I ordered a month ago.
only one chest pocket instead of two buttoned pockets with pencil holder. Material somewhat heavier and fit loose. Definitely will not be comfortable in Texas summer. Otherwise, they are fine shirts and I will use them winter after winter.

I normally wear a medium regular LLBean long sleeve shirt. When I got this one it was just too big for your typical medium shirt. I mean it was tent like around my waist and also around my upper arms, I work out, so usually I can fill out the arms pretty good. But not this shirt. It reminded me of the puffy shirt from the Seinfeld series. I ended up returning the shirt for the credit minus the shipping charge. I am going to have to be more careful now when shopping because the sizes are not stable between types of shirts.

The material on this shirt is great, but my complaint is that the sizing is about one-to-two sizes off, in the larger direction, meaning that I ordered a medium, but could easily have confused it for a large or extra-large had the tag been missing. My chest measurement is 40 with a 31 waist, and I stand at 5'10", and the medium hem fell well below the crotch on my pants. So if you happen to be on the larger end, or buy two sizes smaller than your normal size, then I would recommend this shirt.

This is to be a Christmas present. Hence the recipient has not yet seen nor expressed an opinion about it. It think you would guess that about things purchased so late in the year.
It looks nice . . .

Shirt shrunk during 1st washing, leaving lots of lint in dryer filter, causing me to question the quality of the fabric.
Color and pattern exactly as advertised in catalog.

The MacNeil is very dark colored. The website view is much brighter and cheerier--the shirt is actually dark and subdued and not nearly as happy as the bright colors online.

I have been an LL Bean customer for 30 years and I am very loyal. I have noticed this year that the mediums are like larges and larges are like xl. I ordered three large shirts for my son and they could have fit a man who weighed 225 lbs with a large stomach. I was pretty disappointed. My son is 28, fit but not small as he is a fitness buff. The waist area on this shirt was like a maternity smock. I have reordered in a medium, but wonder what that will be like. My husband, a smaller man, has been wearing mediums for 30 years and if the large is representative of the sizing of this article, then I think he would now wear a small. LLBean, please don't do this. If North Americans are putting on weight then let them buy the size that is bigger and don't make them think that everything is okay because they fit the same size as before. I am disappointed. Last year the mediums were just the right size for my other son and my husband.
The sizes are different from all past years. Fabric on the shirt is beautiful though as it sewing and detail work.

I purchased the Green Tartan and the Royal Stewart. Both are quality flannel and fit well. There is a problem, though: the plaid pattern repeat flow across the front button placket is way off, especially on the Royal Stewart. Makes it look like a bargain store shirt that was cut on the cheap. I am keeping the Green Tartan because it is not terribly bad, but the red Royal Stewart is going back. Just not acceptable. Bean quality seems to be drifting downward.

I ordered a regular-medium, which was the same as the Chino shirt that I had ordered previously. However, this shirt fit differently, and the sleeves were shorter. In addition, the opening at the end of the sleeves seemed to have an extra fold of fabric, which was noticeable against the underside of my forearms at the point where the two sides joined together. I felt like returning it, but didn't want the hassle.
After washing it (warm water) and drying it (20 min. low heat, then line dry) a few times, the sleeves have gotten too short for me.
However, the fabric is really warm, comfortable, and with an attractive pattern. If only this shirt were made from the same pattern as the Chino shirt!

Bought this shirt for my husband and initially we both loved it. Beautiful color (red plaid), soft and warm. Unfortunately after the second washing, the collar seam opened up. I used iron on tape to mend it rather than return the shirt. The opened seam is mostly hidden when the collar points are buttoned down. Hopefully the mending hold up through many more wearings. It's a nice shirt but I certainly didn't expect the stitching to come apart this quickly! Otherwise I'd have given it a 5.

I ordered the scotch plaid flannel - black stewart for my father for Christmas. Having never ordered him an LLB shirt before, I wasn't sure on size, so ordered an XL Tall. Turns out it is too big, so I was going to order the L tall and it is out of stock. Will this be available again? My father LOVED the shirt and was really disappointed it didn't fit, so I'm hoping I can still get it for him eventually.

This is a great shirt: it looks good, is very warm and soft, and is obviously a high-quality shirt for $29ish (I had a $10 gift certificate from a previous purchase).
Unfortunately, it is enormous. My chest measures about 35" and I can wear a small or medium in just about every brand out there. So, I ordered a small, which is advertised for 34-36" measurement. However, it's too long in the sleeves and torso and too baggy in the sleeves and chest.
If you're a bigger guy then go ahead and buy it - you shouldn't be disappointed. As for me, I'll have to return it or give it to someone else.

I've gotten two of these shirts in the same size. The first fit perfectly, but the second feels half a size smaller. Since I tend to prefer my shirts fit snugly, that half size is the difference between just right and unwearable. The cuffs seem to be about a quarter inch tighter, the sleeves a half inch shorter, and the collar a full size down.
Other than the size disparity, both are made out of really nice material. Very soft. The first has kept its shape after four washes.

This shirt would rate 5 stars except that it lacks fire retardant. I'm hesitant to wear it to often because I may unknowly get to close to a fire/flame.

Resent purchase of this favorite fannel shirt in Blackwatch pattern... Resent buy was XL (a bit big).. My original same shirt L fit close.. The next purchase same shirt L too small... This product has a irregular fit size I've not experienced with LL Bean shirts before...
The fabric quality and stiching is superior to your competitors... When I next replace my "Blackwatch" it will likely be an LL Bean...

I'm not overweight and find that this shirt is cut so generously that I can wrap it around myself and button it in the back. Well, not quite, but I'd order more shirts if they fit me reasonably well.
