Construction feels solid. Could be stretchier at the top to make them easier to get on. Shape of the inside/insole absolutely killed my feet.

These shoes are comfortable with little break in period..fit trur to size ..I bought two pair of these shoes I had to replace the insoles with merrell base insoles so I would get better heel lock because the stock soles had to much heel cushion causing hell slip but after I put the base insoles in it was fine until today I had to find out the hard way these shoes aren't waterproof as advertised not even water resistant! I do land scaping and walking across wet grass a day after it rained my feet were completely wet and socks soaked ...I will be contacting merrell to rectify this as they are advertised waterproof..i also have the gore tex nova trail runners and they are infact waterproof but these mererll chameleon 8 stretch tactical are not! Another reason I made the purchase in they have a arch shank support and it helps but feel a bit cheated on the waterproof as advertised ..

It's a very narrow shoe. I take a wide size show. My bad in purchasing this shoe.
My closest friend, who's foot is narrow and 1/2 size smaller than mine (and is ex-military), tells me he loves his new Cham 8 Stretch Tactical shoe he received for free from me.
Go figure.

These shoes are very comfortable once on. Putting them on is quite another story. The liner is so tight that putting them on without a shoe horn borders between very very difficult and impossible. Once on, they are very comfortable to hike in for miles.

I have worn these for years. The quality continues to decline. The shoe is still good but they are not nearly as stretchy as in the past. They also seem less mfortable.

A pretty narrow shoe. Feet hurt after a few hours. Not the most comfortable shoe I've ever had.

I accidentally bought two pairs of Cham 8 and 4 days after wearing one of the pair the cog that helps tighten the fit went missing. A whole pair of shoes that fit fantastically and feel great are ruined by an design flaw?

I've purchased two pairs of this shoe and was really hoping the first one was just a lemon because I really like the Merrell brand. Both pairs I owned have blown out the toes on the outer side of the shoe. Specific to me, it was my right shoe both times.
I'm on my feet for an easy 12+ hours a day at times, which I know is a lot. Both of these pairs lasted me about a month or two before they busted out. I liked the look a lot, so I purchased the second pair, but they were not tough enough for my work.

I like the shoes, but the lacing system is of poor quality.

This shoe constantly squeaks when I walk in it. I have worn it for 4 weeks now and grass, cement, asphalt or carpet it squeaks really loud. It is so bad my co-workers tease me about it. Don't buy this shoe.

This shoe looks great but is so uncomfortable that is cuts your circulation off when you put it on. It is a terrible shoe.

Bought these shoes for my son based on the waterproofness and usability for light hiking. They are not waterproof and after one wear, the lock lacing system broke. Didn't expect them to be completely waterproof but at least water repellent. Very dissatisfied and disappointed with the quality of these shoes.

I ordered these about 2 weeks ago and since receiving them they've been worn on a couple hikes totaling about 6 miles, after my 3 mile hike earlier today I won't wear them again. The left shoe can easily be one of the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn however the right shoe has a serious problem, I don't know if it is a defect or factory second but the plastic heel support digs into the back of my right heel and after a 3 mile hike it rubs the back of my right heel raw, causing pain and discomfort. It's a shame since the left shoe fits like a glove but judging them as a pair, they get a 1 star but honestly deserve zero for the serious flaw with the right shoe. Hopefully Merrell will stand behind their product and make it right.

The lacing system is horrible to use, and doesn't work. I need to try removing it an replace with an old fashioned single lace. Whose dumb idea was this?

These are way too tight and stiff, I had to return these. I've had many different pairs of Merrell and usually they are pretty consistent on sizing, but not on these. The length and width were actually ok, but they are much too tight around the ankle area to slip on, even with the laces fully loosened.

Decent shoe, very low heat resistance. Near an exhaust for a mower for a few seconds and melted.

This shoe is not made well, the restraining buckle fell apart. The front toe material started to come apart all within 30 days.

I was looking for a slip on version of my MOAB in black. I thought this would be great. I will only buy shoes with real stitched structure unlike the new MOABS that are adhesive based. The throat of opening of the shoe is so restricted I could not even get my foot in ( I wear 11.5-12's). Not even close!

I had these less than a month, wearing them for landscaping and the toe and instep welt on the right shoe already came unglued. This is my third pair, happy with the previous shoes but NOT this one.
