Great shoe, the stretch material does lose some elasticity over time but is overall comfortable and holds up pretty well. My only serious complaint is I wish my foot sat lower in the shoe like it does with the older primes. A lower foot means more side stability and less likely hood of rolling your ankle. Thinner insoles help a bit. I've owned most versions of the chameleons since the 3

Great show , heavier construction than regular chameleon line. More aggressive tread . But takes longer to dry .

I have been wearing the shoes for years. I love them. I've been wearing this new pair for about a month, working in the woods most of the time. I am surprised that I've already separated the toe rubber from the shoe.
They still fit great, but they look like I've been wearing them for year or more. I'll still wear them, but I thought they would be more durable.

Great shoe, comfortable right out of the box. I would give it a 5 Star but they a little on the hot side and slippery when the bottoms get we.

The sole is kinda thick and the upper doesn't really have any support so the shoe wants to roll.

Bought these a few months back and didn't wear them at first cause the lace system they have in them, cut out the cords and put regular laces in them now there great I walk 7-10 miles daily for work. One the only shoes that have held up!

While they are sturdy shoes, I found these to fit a little looser than other Merrill's I've had, and the sole is heavier than expected.

I bought these here on the Merrell website. I'm not convinced they were actually "NEW" and never worn but it could be due to the less than mindful way they were shipped to me. These shoes are heel and arch friendly. The shock absorbing heel greatly reduces fatigue when on your feet for extended periods. The deep sticky lugs give you good surface grip. The laces are the downfall. Mine came with a worn out and seized lacing system on the right shoe so I'll need to see if Merrell sells just the laces for these...

The fit is pretty good on a foot that is narrow. I'm new to the operation of the elastic laces and don't know whether they are that great especially when you have narrow feet and a lot of extra lace when you snug them up.

Very nice shoes, I like the slip-on aspect of the shoe and the way they fit. I have not been hiking with them yet but have been wearing them for a week now and they feel great.
They are not as comfortable as my Merrell speeds but close to it.

Just rec'd them. #1) The black isn't a true black. It is a off-black with a slight blue tint. #2) The heel of the shoe is very padded- adding about 2" in height.
Another reviewer mentioned it's tight to slip on as compared to laced shoes.
+Snugged fit feels comfortable & secure. The tread is thick and aggressive.
Would purchase again!

So I'll start with the bad first: these things are near impossible to get on my foot, even with the laces as loose as they'll go. The sewn in sock is crazy tight. I actually have to use a shoe horn. However, after you get them on they fit very well, even with my wide feet. Merrell's intended purpose of the shoe is somewhat confusing though - the soles are too thin for hiking (you can feel every little rock on the ground), and no cushioning so they're not meant for athletic use. Basically, they're for fashion-ish only.

These shoes were very small. I usually wear size 9 and the 10.5 that I ordered was still too small. Returned.

A bit tight around the ankle area for getting on. They should come with a shoe horn. This is why I only give him three stars. I'm sure they'll get better it's just gonna take some breaking in.

These feel great on my feet. True to size. Problem is getting into them. Had to invest in a heavy duty shoehorn to gain access. Perhaps this is part of the waterproofing? Soles are noticably harder than any shoe or boot I've ever worn. Not without flex, just rock hard. Can't imagine ever wearing out these soles. I'm keeping them cause I like the look. Just can't take them off anywhere without carrying a long a shoehorn.

They just arrived today and I will see how they break in/hold up. The laces are a bit funky and I anticipate problems with them but it does not appear that it will be hard to remove the elastic lace system currently in place and replace it with a more conventional method.

Great looking shoe, but due to it being a slip on, the back heel will eventually fall apart! I got these for my boy, but always use a shoe horn if want them to last !

Tread wore away very quickly. Other than that they were great summer painting shoes.

This new pair dug into my ankle, such that I was bleeding after a 4.5-mile walk. After they're broken in, I expect them to be fine. However, I really miss the more functional lace clip that this shoe used to come with a few years ago. You could just squeeze it to loosen and tighten the laces. The current one doesn't seem functional at all.

The stretch lace on one shoe was shorter than the opposite shoe, and resulted in one shoe being tighter than the other. I'll have to order new laces to fix the issue due to the one shoe being significantly tighter. I've worn them for about a month and they haven't eased up any. Other than that, the shoes are perfect. I've been wearing Merrell Chameleons for 11 years now.
