I walk 3 miles every day in these shoes and within 2 weeks of wearing them they eliminated my swollen ankles and the stiffness in my knees. I would strongly recommend these shoes.

This is an American made masterpiece. I love everything about this shoe. I'm proud of it and tell everyone.

These 990v5 are replacing a well used pair of 993's. The high quality construction remains in the US made segment of this brand.

My most recent purchase is the 990V5, and I could not be happier. I live and work on a farm in WV. Years ago, I purchased the 990 Model which was also made in the US. On the farm, I wore the 990's about 10 months out of the year. I have swept dirt and rocks with them (yes, while on my feet). I have run all types of equipment - mowers, tillers, excavtors, etc., etc., in those 990's were always comfortable and sturdy...that includes the stability needed for chainsaw work. Those 990's are still very serviceable and they may be nearly TEN YEARS OLD! The 990's just look like heck now, but I still use them for chainsaw work as it is a messy job. I look forward to years of comfort and durability from the 990vS Model. The fit (a size) 10 is true. I am 70 years old and would not even consider purchasing a different type of "tennis" shoe. If you want a great quality, made in US product, look no further.

Wear New Balance shoes every day and the support is very good.

The 990 v5 is a very good shoe for large runners. I recently purchased a new pair of 990s at a New Balance retail store in July and experienced a mild delamination of the toe end of the sole. New balance was exceptional at providing a discount coupon to purchase another pair. I have been running in 990s for decades, and this delamiation problem was my first problem. The shoe fit is consistent with the prior 990v4. I continue to be very satisfied with my 990v5.

I am glad that it is still available. Very expensive, but still there.

I've been wearing New Balance for years (574), but the 990v5 is my new go-to. Extremely comfortable, stylish, and the quality of the materials are a cut above. They do run large, so I go a half size down from what I normally wear.

It was great to find a high quality shoe that was is made in America!! I hope NB adds more products to the made in the USA line.

My husband probably has about 5 pair of these shoes in his closet, because they are the most comfortable for him. He has a very wide foot, with hardly any arch. He has his everyday "clean and new" pair, his "mowing the lawn" pair, his pair that "might get wet", and two more "back-up" pairs! He just can't get enough of them!

Thank you for providing this product as it definitely filled a serious need due to my son requiring a 6E wide shoe. I reside in Singapore (Retired US Marine Gunny) supporting the US Military), and could not find any outlet here that had a wide size 15 shoe needed. As soon as he tried on this shoe, he was so happy that the shoe was extremely comfortable. I have purchased New Balance shoes for a long time as I have wide feet too. Greatly appreciate it.

I have been buying this shoe version for multiple decades - first as a mid-distance runner, then a marathon runner, later a recreational runner, and now in my 60's and 70's as a regular walker. I also use the black color shoes for international travel shoes. The older shoes live on for gardening and yard work. The cushioning and comfort are great. The size is consistent, although the width of this specific version seems a little bigger than usual. Despite the gradual increases in price over the years, I remain a loyal customer because of the quality and comfort of this USA made product.

Most comfortable shoe for on your feet all day. Would recommend them to everyone

I've run in New Balance, the 990 series, for decades. They are the best shoes on the market -- great stability, cushion, support. As long as I'm running, I'm only buying New Balance. Thank you!

I bought US 990v5 again. Now I own two pairs. One for working out. The other for lawn care. The fit for me is perfect. I am 11.5 and 2E width. Very comfortable. I was looking for a work boot, but decided to purchase another pair of the US 990v5 for lawn care because they fit so well.

Husband wears these every day, only one where his feet don't hurt.

This is my third pair of 990's, started with version 2 10 years ago! Great shoe for everyday use, I do 10,000 steps a day in these!

I am a NB fan. It's the wider toe box that did it for me plus the shoe is sold in half sizes which makes for a better fit. I've been wearing the shoes for more than 30 years and can tell you skip Nike and Hoka running shoes just wore out waaaay to quick. I don't buy the shoe for the points or the discounts but because they fit and are comfortable. I'm to old to run but still wear a running shoe for walking. They last me about a year and I'll keep buying them as long as I can. Why would I switch....If it aint broke don't fix it. Make sure you get your feet measured each time you go to buy!!!

I love the product. It's the only walking shoe I buy. However, New Balance needs to get it's act together. Customer Service is laughable under Covid - the texting just didn't work (what happened to old fashioned email?). Covid also caused them to discontinue their custom shoes. We're 5-6 months into this Covid mess and New Balance needs to quit making excuses for poor service. Management should have figured it out by now. Might have to look for alternatives to the 990 v 5, not because of the product, but because of the company.

This is a top quality shoe. Fit and manufacturing is of the best quality. They are expensive, but I would buy them again. I would style them a little simpler as for my taste there are too many lines. No question the best quality and fit of any shoe I've ever owned.
