I really wanted to love this shoe. I've owned classic slip ons in the past. The redesigned skate version has a stiff collar that rubs my achilles to the point where I have bled a few times. Wearing with socks helps a little bit. Wearing the shoe barefoot is dangerous. Recently brought my pair of slip ons to the beach. My walk from the parking lot to the beach left me limping with bleeding achilles on both feet. I love vans. I love my half cabs, old schools, skate highs. The skate version of the slip on is painful to wear in everyday life. I couldn't even imagine skating in these. I don't normally write a review if it will be bad, however I want to provide a constructive critique as a lifelong skateboarder. I want the shoe to be comfortable.

Not comfortable as the pop cush liners do nothing for cushioning, especially forward of the arch. The nice padding around the heel area from the pro is gone too. Also the material around the heel area changed and I am getting blisters from it rubbing through fairly thick socks.

At 42, I can remeber when there was a time there were stand-alone vans stores. Some old stool dude who made a living slinging canvas and leather to all the locals. While I tend to wear half cabs and highs, I thought I'd go for a childhood favorite. When I saw that the skate model with the popcush was an offering, it was a no-brainer. Turns out, the no brainer is the kook who let this style go into production. Look everything is great and it's stayed true to its classic style but how did we never redesign the heel? It is rubbing me raw on the heel and I'm literally bleeding out on my new kicks. The seam comes all the way up to the top and it causes this rigid notch that cuts into my heel. For like $60 or $70 bones, this is not acceptable. One star because a company this big shouldn't be making these kind of design errors.

Wore these for about four days and my feet are killing me. My feet are raw in places I didn't even know existed. Stick with the Classics.

Gave me blisters on first day of wearing them. Not enough cushioning in heels. I love the comfycush but they stopped making in this style. I'm very disappointed with these shoes.

My ankles have been bleeding for days and these shoes are still nowhere near broken in. I've been wearing them for nearly a week now with no end in sight.

12 too small and narrow, 13 too big. 12 to 13 is a significant difference. Not everyone is a 12, 13, or 14. We need half sizes after size 12! Please! I guarantee you make tons more money by making half sizes.

I've been wearing vans since I was a kid. I even worked at a vans store growing up. Now that I'm older I can't buy the classic vans styles because I need to use insoles in my shoes, but whoever designed the "skate" version of this ruined the design. I just want my vans to look like the classics, but have upgraded comfort. The black/white skate old skools look really ugly with the white material on the inside that you can see around the ankle. The checkered logo on the side isn't great either... Can you bring back the "pro" line? Those were much better. I'm actually sad about this, I feel like I'm going to have to wear other shoes now lol.... :(

So I bought these shoes against my better judgment. Most of the reviews I read were obviously good and bad. We'll I'm a bad one now. I got these shoes and at first sight they're amazing! I love the suede material but that's about the only thing good I can say about them. Yes they were RIDICULOUSLY tight! I had to literally force my foot into these. Once on I noticed my right foot seemed to stretch out a bit but the left not so much. I compared the two and the left was definitely smaller that the right. So I decided to actually wear them out. The right one rubbed my heel within a matter of minutes. So needless to say back in the box they go to be returned.

After an hour of wearing these I had bad blisters and blood was running down the back of the shoe.

Nothing has been great on this one pair. I have bought skate slip ons before but this one pair is super tight. Since I have received it I have tried wearing bigger socks and stretching it before hand and it still hurts to put it on and wearing it.

I took a chance on these after reading mediocre reviews, and I was so disappointed. These shoes put blisters on the back of my heels after 5 minutes of wearing them. Sending back for an exchange witb a different style Daniel Johnston's. I even sized up to 11 from 10.5, but the back of the shoe is so poorly made it will destroy your feet.

It's a cute shoe, appears to be good quality. But the only problem is it doesn't come with the option for wide width. So unfortunately i'm gonna have to be returning these and i was looking forward to them big time :(

Definitely returning these. The insoles in the shoes are so thick that the shoe is so tight, I can barely get these on. I took the insole out and the shoe fit like normal. It would be nice if there was an option to have insoles or not, I have so many VANS and have bought them for years but this is ridiculous. If you add an insole, make the shoe fitting to that. Wearing these will cause so many issues.. not worth it.

The new design is so bad. I used to be able to just wear a 9 or 9.5 in women's comfortably. Now the 9.5s don't even fit right. They're long enough, but they are way too tight on the top. It's so difficult so slide my foot in. Bring back the old ones please! I feel like sizing up won't even help at this point. Do not order unless your feet are EXTREMELY thin. These were always my go to, now I can't even wear them.

I've worn vans for 25+ years. The pro models for as long as they were around. Now that they're gone, these were to be the next best thing. I've been through 4 pairs in the past 6 months and they've all had quality control issues. Vans have never given me blisters till these. All 4 pairs had different issues. My work boots are more comfortable.

These are my go to for years, but they have changed up the soles and now are super shiny. Awful looking. Bring back the matte finish!

I have so many Vans but these hurt so bad the cushion hurts on the bottom of my foot. Never experienced this with my other vans! They are so cute but sad that they hurt so bad! I took out the extra cushion but now they are too big. Very disappointed

I wish I had read the reviews before buying these cuz no joke only got 2 houses down on my dogs walk and a had turn back cuz these cut the back of my heels up really bad ive never a pair of shoes do that to my heels so I recommend not buying these unless you like to blisters on ur heels

The extra cushion inside the shoe makes the top part too tight. Even wearing Van's socks, the shoes are still very uncomfortable. I will be returning the extra pair I received.

The Sk8 Hi Pro was perfect. This Skate version is an absolute piece of garbage. The sole is too stiff. The inside elastic on the interior is uncomfortable and restrictive. The fit is all wrong, skinny , stretched out. The weight is crazy heavy, almost like a boot. The sued is cheap, and thin. Bottom line I returned these, they are unusable as skate shoes. Whatever design team was in charge of this shoe needs to go make basketball shoes because you ruined, i say ruined a classic.

The shape of these are awful rub really bad in multiple spots compared to classic slip ons or authentics. Take way too long to break in for a shoe. The materials are pretty bad in the heel which make these almost impossible to wear. Also the insole is way too big for how small the shoe is so be prepared for blisters no matter what you do.

Bought two pair one for the wife and one for myself. Less than a day and blister for me and the wife. Not the same as the old pros! Sit way high on the heel and rub like crazy. Super bummed! Loved the original checkerboard pros! We returned them and had to go back to classic checkerboards! Vansplease bring back the pros. Classics are awesome but the comfort just isn't there!
