I had FINALLY found a shoe that I absolutely was in love with! I wore the 1080s every day, even at work on the hard concrete Comfortable, comfortable, comfortable! I was on my second pair, and wanted to order a third pair. But Why do companies think they always have to "improve" an already wonderful product? If it ain't broke, don't fix it! The 1080 model got a V11 added to its name, and that has ruined the comfort factor for me. The sides are no longer padded but have a rough seam that rubs against my foot bone. SO disappointing! Should've ordered 5 to 6 pairs of the original to begin with, and then I'd have them on hand. Now it's back to the drawing board to try to find a comparable shoe. Ugh!!!!!

Even for a wide they were too narrow for my foot in my normal size. I returned them a week ago. Still waiting on my refund

I liked the look but they are not supportive. I felt my lower back after standing up for a couple of hours in them. Unfortunately, there is no trial period and you can only return if never worn and I won't be wearing them again.

Walking on this fresh foam was TOO BOUNCY, I felt like the ground was moving up and down, and even sideways, which made the walking gate very unnatural. After five minutes walking in this bouncy state, my knees started to get tight. I had to remove the shoe, because I started to feel pain around my knees, and lower leg. You need to start making shoes that will allow a natural walking gate. Shoes should be made taking in consideration the biomechanics of walking. Now adays shoes are made for fashion, to look pretty; instead of allowing for a healthy walking gate. The toe box is narrow, which will deform the toes; bunions. A narrow toe box and flat feet, gives you plantar Fasciitis. Buying a double wide shoe does not work, because the toe box is so narrow. Motion control shoes weakens your feet muscles. WHAT WE NEED is a shoe with a wider toe box (the toes need to have room to spread when you walk), heel-to-toe drop less than 6 mm (12mm drop shortens your calf muscles = heel pain), walk bear foot for a few minutes everyday, and your feet will be stronger, and pain free. I am having trouble finding a double wide shoe with a wide toe box, a toe drop that is not too high; so I can finally be pain free from plantar Fasciitis. Mission Impossible with today's shoes industry.

I was very disappointed in this shoe. I have the 1080v10 and I absolutely love them. Hands down my favorite sneaker. I was just looking to replace my current pair and found that the shoe design was very different. Most significantly the upper part of the shoe had a lot of hard plastic-type pieces. These pieces dug into the top of my foot and became painful just from walking around the house in them. I also felt that the v10s hugged my heel more than the v11s. I would love if New Balance read this review and returned to the 1080v10 design. I will be looking for another shoe that is comparable.

The construction and height of the heel/ankle was horrible. Maybe this works for some people, but it ruined what could have been a fine pair of New Balance running shoes for me. I will never buy this design, I hope they go back to what works.

I am another lover of the 1080 9v, now we are left with this sorry excuse for a shoe. While the padding underfoot is great, the sock is too loose and baggy. The sizes are all over the place, in fact, the women's size 11 is BIGGER than the 11.5. Can anyone suggest a reasonable replacement for the New Balance 1080 9v?

After 2 and a half days of wearing these shoes they KILLED my feet!! I finally decided to quit trying to make these work and return them. I immediately threw back on my fresh foam 1080 version 8!!!! I can definitely feel the pain starting to alleviate from my arches. I have very flat feet. Whatever the v8 has for cushioning is absolutely perfect! WHYYYY does new balance have to screw up each version worse than the last?? Ever since v9 came out, there have been slight and subtle differences in comfort and fit, with each version getting worse and worse as the new versions come out. New balance, please get your crap together! I'm running out of options for my whiny, achy, picky feet! :(

This was one of the shoes recommended by my foot surgeon, but it's not good. The laces are placed so high up on the shoe that the forefoot feels sloppy; they need to move the laces closer to the toes. In theory, the mesh forefoot would be good, but there is zero structure and therefore not enough forefoot support. Also, the midfoot of the shoe fit bizarrely--it was baggy and loose on the sides. Lastly, the heel design is not helpful--it was not comfortable and I don't think it accommodates different feet types. I'd these issues would be re-designed in the next version, I would try it again.

I've been wearing the fresh foam, and the 1080's in particular, for quite some time. The customer who showed the picture of the version 10 on one foot and the version 11 on another foot? I agree with her. The version 11 is not an upgrade; they are two entirely different shoes. The constriction around the laces which hurts, the the differences in the width and where the widest part fits -- making it NOT fit... Version 10 was much better. Throw in the construction problems people are having with this particular version, and I am now looking at different brands, since New Balance has nothing else to offer like the 1080 version 10. Very disappointing.

I bought these because I've worn out an older model of fresh foam and my plantar fasciitis had been flaring up. I love the way these look however they're very tight (like compression) all over my feet and they simply aren't comfortable to run in. My old pair felt like clouds when I first got them. These don't. Feet were killing me after my run. I don't think they can be returned since I've run in them. Definitely disappointed with this purchase.

4 mile walk everyday and suffer from hip and knee pain while wearing these shoes. I owned an earlier model of the same shoe and they were much more supportive!

I believe this shoe is mis-labeled. It is at least an inch too long. Have owned several identical pairs.

New version is cheaply made. Yet another "improvement" that simply means corners were cut. Sent back. Will go with another brand. Shame because I've been buying this particular sneaker for years.

One again, the "new" edition of the sneaker is simply a cheaper way to make the sneaker. Everything I liked about the sneakers has disappeared. The stable bottom is much smaller. The toe width is smaller and I slip out of the back. I have three pairs of the V10, because I absolutely loved everything about them. They are well over a year old, and very worn, however the support is better in those, than the new V11. Unfortunately, I'm returning. Will try a different brand.

I had a similar issue to another review. The left heel was deformed and causing my left ankle to roll inward. It's like the foam in the inside heel was not formed properly. I contact customer service and sent pictures and they did provide a credit towards a new pair of shoes since the ones I have are less than 3 months old. I have worn New Balance for years and never had an issue. However, there is something wrong with the quality of the 1080V11.

Everything said about the stitch/tongue stitch area is accurate. It was painful, and my feet could not breathe. It was as if it was cutting off my circulation, paralyzing my legs, etc. I am sending it back.

I wish you'd kept making the version 9. That was the best version ever! Even the salespeople know this shoe is not as good as the version 9!! Please bring back 9 when you make v12

Last year's version were the best fitting running shoes I've had in over 20 years of running for me. They were in a narrow width and did have to size up 1/2 size in length. For once I was able to get a narrow shoe that was both narrow enough AND in a color I liked (black) that I'd actually wear everyday. I ordered the V11 in the same size and narrow width. The new version runs at least an entire size larger and 1-2 width sizes bigger, as you can see in the photo. The obviously larger shoe is this newer version.

These shoes look great but I don't understand this style of heel. It's thin and feels like fabric rather than just a normal padded backing. I could really feel the heel inside the shoe with each step and for that reason I'm not keeping them.

It was the worst …I’m on my 3rd or 4th pair and the last 2 are actually painful. I kept the last pair thinking they’d get better, but nope. Brand new in my closet. These are the same. Time to Move on from NB
