I really like this shoe. But the tongue is too long and uncomfortable where it ends at the joint between foot and leg.

The quality of the overall sneaker has diminished no matter what I purchase. And spending more doesn't necessarily make them that much better. The materials are more "cardboard" in feeling if that makes any sense. Buying a good sneaker is a challenge to do on line but w zappos great return policies, it's worth buying 3 at a time to find the "right" pair. These will do for now.

I purchased these shoes in August 2021 because they were recommended to help with plantar fasciitis so I could continue daily walks. They were/are comfortable and helped allow the painful plantar fasciitis to heal. The shoes still look good on the outside; however, the material on the inside behind the heal has broken down and is continuing to fall apart exposing the plastic. Soon I won't be able to wear them without irritating the back of my heal. This is so disappointing! I paid more for these shoes than any other pair of athletic shoes I own. The price was worth it to keep me moving with plantar fasciitis, but I expected these shoes to wear MUCH better.

I loved the look of these New Balance Fresh Foam shoes. They felt like I would have good support in the arch (plantar fac issues), but the redesign of the back heel of the shoe allowed my heel to slip. I had ordered a wide first and thought that might be the problem. Ordered a medium width to try again, but sadly, same problem. The padding around the heel serves a dual purpose of holding the heel in place in addition to the comfort aspect. I think New Balance got it wrong with this redesign. Had there been the padding there, I’d have given a 5 star rating and the shoes would have fit great.

I was looking for a women's specific shoe was hopeful that the shoe would be true to size. I always have to wear mens shoes and they are just so large in the forefoot. This unfortunately was too small.

This shoe is ok but I expected more cushion and comfort. Not good for running any distance.

I was so disappointed. I’ve worn the same model for the past two years and loved them everyday for miles and miles. This year seems like a change to support and fit?sent back.

Run large. I got 10, after wearing them realize i should have went with 9.5. Not nearly as comfortable as I had hoped they'd be. Colors are good, the purple is very purple (not bluish) like I wanted.

Love the cushioning and support in these shoes, but I have a few issues with the fit. First, they seem to fit a bit big - I am consistently a 7 in NB, but my heel slips a bit in these. Also, the laces start really high up on the foot, so I can't tighten the laces lower down on the foot, which adds to the slipping feeling I think.

Found the bottom sole had misformed creating a bump on the sole. Loved the color. The design made my calf's sore, it propels the foot but front landing area has less cushion. Gave them to my daughter and went back to my asic gel nimbus 23s. Delivery time was really long. Bummer as they were sweet looking for sure

It's cute and squishy soft. I'm too tall (5'9") to wear what feel and look like platform shoes. There HAS to be a way to make comfortable shoes for people, like me, with high arches and bunions. If I order the medium width, my feet hang over the sides in the toe box. If I order wide widths, the fabric is loose and droopy on the sides in the arch area but tightening the laces kills the top of my foot above the arch- and the droopy fabric remains- then the width in the toe box is the same as a medium width. Why? I don't know. Within the past 7-8 years none of the high end manufacturers seem to know what to do. 7-8 years ago, I could find comfy sneakers in NB, Asics and Brooks. No longer the case- sadly. I don't know why the major changes and negative ones at that. Can you no longer make super cushioned shoes in a normal thickness in the sole? I guess not. Everyone seems to be mimicking Hoka's. The problem with this is, while Hoka's are comfy at first, over time they allow the foot to move all over the place- no support- lots of squish. This causes plantar facia issues, arch pain and rolling inward or outward of the foot. NB, please pay attention to what I'm saying. Your shoes either feel like I'm walking on boards, or they're so soft, too tall and not supportive enough for daily wear. The upper fabric, while airy and breathy, is so stretchy there is no support to keep the foot from sliding side to side. I'm at a loss.

It was refreshing to see an extra wide sneaker that didn’t have a hideous design. I really wanted to like these sneakers, but they didn’t fit well in the heel. They were nicely cushioned, though. I tried to get a different size instead, but they were sold out, so I moved on. However, the one thing that sticks out for me for these sneakers is the fact that they looked used. The laces on the each were done in different ways, and I can’t imagine that happening in the factory. Plus, the sneaker stuffing wasn’t very solid like all my other pairs have had. It kind of creeped me out. I imagine there are some shoes/sneakers that are reused when a customer returns them without wearing, but at least do a better job of hiding that!

I thought these would be the answer to my prayers, but no. The instep felt tight even before lacing up and the heel slips like crazy no matter how tightly laced. Had to return them.

Don’t last very long! I’m a college runner and I run 45-50 miles a week and they only last about 2-3 months

Tight on the right foot only near the top of laces close to toes. The shoes are very cushioned, however the right foot laces area is too tight, if I go up a size they will be too big.

I was hoping for more firm arch support. There's some there, but I would call it minimal.

I'm on my 4th order. Started by receiving the wrong shoe in a 10.5. Re-ordered my typical NB size (8.5 W) massive. Now the 8.5 is somehow longer than the 8.5W and I am re-ordering a 4th time. I've ordered other shoes and they are all different. One I'm an 8R, another I'm 8.5R and now I have no clue what I will be in this shoe 10 years and this is happening for the first time, get it together NB. It's frustrating and a $40 doesn't make up for inaccurate sizing and going back and forth for 4 months.

The foot length and width are true to size, however, the heel is very wide, enough to the point where my foot slides out. Too bad because everything else seemed really nice. It also came defective. The tongue area had been stretched beyond means and was torn when I received it. It doesn't seem like that area is well put together though - all 4 sides looked poorly designed and eventually all of them could be stretched/torn in the same manner, so for a shoe that is this price, that is frustrating.

I wear a 13N Womens and don't have a ton of options so I tried this shoe. I much prefer the 990 because of fit and comfort. The 1080 is just not as comfortable and there's too much play in the toe box.

Oh how I wish these had fit. They are very cute, and finding cute sneakers in extra wide is nearly impossible. They are not extra wide and the arch was not nearly enough. I will stick with Hoka.

I've been buying the Fresh Foam 1080s for almost 4 years throughout New Balances different versions. I love that they came in wide and extra-wide for women. I work in Healthcare and love that my feet have the grace to swell. Now NB is not offering the option to go wide which inevitably loses me as a customer.

It's a nice shoe, however not the stability or support of a 900, 902,903.

I have been wearing the 1080 for the last 2 years and I loved them. I work in a hospital and am on my feet all day. They literally helped eliminate the excruciating pain I was in. I just bought a new pair from my local new balance store and they are not the same. The salesperson told me that these are the redesigned version of what I had on. It seems some of the cushion in the arch has been removed. There is no longer a "rock" effect when you walk. The shoe is also narrow. I wear a wide and this shoe was sold to me as wide in a wide box but clearly is NOT wide. I don't know if the cheapening of the shoe is due to the inflation we are experiencing and New Balance is doing what every other manufacturer is doing by cutting the quality of the product and still charging the same price. Please bring back the quality we expect and pay for. If we didn't want to pay for it we would not buy. The look of the shoe is better instead of a plain black and white shoe. The added the charcoal color around the white on the outside of the shoe. Could have extended around the entire shoe. The black under the heel and at the toe was a good idea also. Redesign it again and bring back the comfort.

These were my favorite shoe last year but they’ve changed the fit in the ankle area. Much larger/gap and it was not comfortable at all. If you loved the previous style and wanted more - this isn’t it.
