Because of these shoes I felt slower, less comfortable, and my running times immediately went up. I'm very disappointed in these shows especially from a great brand like new balance. Hope they can do better and improve!-Lilly C

Although these are marketed as running shoes, in my opinion, they are too light. The 990 shoe is 4 oz. heavier, and a lot more sturdy. However, these light weight shoes are perfect to wear everywhere. They are also great for treadmills, as the weight is more important than the stability. I have already bought a second pair.

I have been running in New Balance 1080 for over 15 years. I have bought at least one pair a year during this time. 1080v11 started out very comfortable, however, the soles started wearing off after only 6 weeks of 5 miles per day. They are now useless for running. Past 1080 models had lasted an average of 6 months. New Balance had better correct this situation in future versions or I will be forced to change brands.

Shoe is perfect for wide feet. It fits and runs well.

So I got these this morning and and immediately put in 8 miles with my husky because he gets excited when he sees me put on my workout clothes. I realized immediately why the heel cup is a controversial feature. But I liked it immediately. I DO think if it simply moved the two cushion pads over the calcaneal bone a little higher, it would accommodate more people. But from seeing the news about the 1080v12, I can tell I am not gonna like them as much as the current model. I used to run strictly minimal shoes and haven't run new balance since my old minimum trails shoes. At the time, everyone in my army unit was raving about minimalist shoes. But I wanted something different after years of those styles of shoes. I tried Salomon and loved them but they weren't quite doing it for me after a while. I bought a pair of Craft CTM ultras which were cool but forced me to change my running stride due to the odd cushion stack placement...but THESE on my 8 miles run today didn't try to force me to do anything except move faster. It was a really nice experience- seriously!! I am still not used to the stack height of a lot of modern shoes but these are an instant favorite. I'm gonna buy three pairs before they release the next generation because tbh I am not interested in the next gen if it's anything like the YouTube vids I've seen on them. But man these work for me. Oh but maybe go half a size up from your normal size. The toebox isn't too wide or too narrow for me but my normal size of 9.5 definitely would have been a bit close for comfort on these. Just a little.

I wear these everyday. They are lightweight but give me a stable base to walk on. This is my second pair.

I am a part time jogger / walker, but my career has me on my feet, in a warehouse environment. These shoes are perfect for my needs. The cushioning is a real benefit. My only issue with the shoe is the strap that holds the tongue of the shoe in place. I use inserts for high arches and those, combined with this strap, make for a tight fit around my foot. However, the comfort of the shoe, overall, outweighs the slight discomfort of this strap.

Have problems with my feet and these sneakers help immensely. Cushioning is great. Only thing I've noticed is that they wear quickly.

I used to be a fairly high-end, competitive runner and have tried many, many different brands. In terms of the New Balance 1080, I've had at least five pairs over the past couple of years and it remains one of the best shoes for indoor (treadmill) and outdoor running. Cushioning is great and kilometers achieved reasonable (800 - 900 kms per pair). The shoes fit snug around one's feet thus just need to be careful to order the correct width.

I use it as a running and everyday shoe. I was looking forward to getting the latest version of this shoe and I ordered it online without first trying it on. When I first tried it on I was a little disappointed with the heel support as it is just too low. Great for getting in and out of without tying and untying your shoelaces but just a little too low for any support or comfort and so low in fact that it Rachel's your socks down into the shoe.

They r a great fit. The wider version works well. They feel gd on short & long runs as well as workouts in the gym on the stationary bike. They look awesome & people comment on how nice they look. Going to get another pair in a different color.

I love them. I wear them for walks. Likely to get another pair when these ones are worn out.

Wonderful for running very flexible and light weight

I was referred to New Balance by my pediatrist. He told me I needed to wear this exact shoe to help correct an injury I sustained in my right foot. Only a few weeks later and my foot is feeling much better. I really love this brand and this product.

Bought them for 17yo son for track. He loves them. Stated they are so comfortable and such great support, they are going to be great for track. Love New Balance, I have them for myself as a nurse. Great support and no leg fatigue.

There's a line of stitches where the tongue meets the shoe and that was so tight the shoe didn't fit properly. The laces didn't even come together right. The shoe is narrow even as a wide. I tried a mens 10 4E. I ordered the same size in an 880v11 and it was perfect.

I absolutely loved version 9 of the show. I'm still wearing it because it's so good. It's worn out so now I have to find a new shoe and the 1080 version 11 is awful.! The 2e width is a joke. It's not wide enough for 2 e!! You say the shoe is snug. I would say the shoe is way too tight! Those of us with wide feet now cannot wear that shoe. The soul is fantastic but I can't wear the shoe because my toes are so pinched. And saying that it is a stretchy fabric does nothing for the with. That only helps with the top of the shoe never with the with. You need to go back to your original 2e's and 4e with your shoes. I'm thinking I need too find another brand now, and I used to buy your shoes 3 times a year!! Please fix this!!!

Fit, support, cushion and stability are excellent: For my needs they are perfect.

I really like the shoes compared to my Hoka's These shoes are much more comfortable lighter and they look aerodynamic and have low profile compared to other extra cushion road running shoes.

I purchased a pair of these sneakers and they were a size 4E they were very tight. I have other new balance size 4E and they fit fine. I tried on a few pair and they were all like that, I think they would be a sneaker if they were a little wider.

I finally got a pair of black on black. I love them for work because it's much less obvious that I'm actually wearing sneakers in the office.

I have medically diagnosed flat feet and can only wear certain types of shoes to run with. These shoes are my absolute favorite. I ran a half marathon with an earlier version... they got me through the training and the race. I had to get the new version because I wore out the other ones and they come in awesome colors. Best running shoes I have ever owned.
