Just a great all around boot. Traction, support & comfort are all there. My only complaint is that the light color shows dirt easily. Make these in a few dark colors and I will be back for more!

Right out of box very comfortable and continued to feel good on trail walk. Appreciate waterproofing so mud and puddles no problem.

I have had a lot of foot problems 9plantar fasciitis, bunion surgery) and these are the most comfortable shoe for hiking that I have found. The wide toe , good arch support, cushioned heel and ability to snug the cuff to keep my heel from sliding are perfect. This is my second pair, since I wore out the last pair.

I put over 50 miles on these boots in 5 days in mountainous terrain and they were great. They were comfortable and I didn't get any blisters or have any problems with toes hitting the front of the boot while hiking downhill with a pack on. Can't wait to use them more and no hesitation to recommend them for others. I do recommend ordering a half size smaller than what you normally wear as they run small.

I absolutely love these boots. I had the XA Pro 3D before and really liked them but these ones fit me even better. The previous ones were slightly short but I couldn't size up because they'd have been too wide. The X Ultra 4 are slightly longer (great for me) and also a bit tighter (also great). I have quite slim feet with very slim ankles and these shoes fit like a glove. They are the most comfortable pair of shoes I own. I fractured my foot/ankle about half a year ago and for months afterwards these were the only shoes I could wear without being in pain. The only thing I would change is the laces, using a Quicklace system. Now looking to find a normal walking shoe that fits just as well. I would highly recommend these, if you have slim feet. I think they'd probably be too tight for people with wide feet. The width is similar to my Speedcross, if that helps (but they are more stable and fit better).

Over the years, I've gone through numerous pairs of hiking shoes from another company that has some great offerings in wide width shoes. Then, several years ago, I was on a high elevation trail in August and was surprised to find a patch of frozen snow covering the trail on an angle. In my attempt to cross it, I turned my ankle and heard a snap, a minor fracture. I had to walk several miles back down the mountain trail to my car and drive 4 hours back to LA and Urgent Care. It took 6 weeks to heal. I decided it was time to purchase a shoe that will protect my ankles. (I also had a bad ankle sprain decades ago, and this year I was on crutches briefly after a ladder I was on collapsed.) That other company (am I allowed to mention the name; it also starts with 'S.') doesn't have wide hiking boots for women, so I decided it was time to look for another brand. A couple days ago, I wore my new Solomon X ULTRA 4 MID WIDE GORE-TEX hiking boots on the longest hike I've ever taken, 15 miles, in the little Verdugo Mountains over Burbank. They felt great!! Recently, I wore them on the very steep trail above Wildwood Canyon Park. Last winter's unusual amount of rain combined with years of heavy foot traffic have degraded the trail significantly. I was very happy to be wearing the new hiking boots. Shoes without the ankle protection offer more flexibility, but there are many times when the ankle protection is a big advantage. Also, I had feared that they would feel too heavy on a hike but was pleasantly surprised to find that I didn't notice the difference in weight while walking. They're totally comfortable. Good for hikers my age, so I'm sure they're good for young hikers, too. Tomorrow is my birthday, the same day, month and year as actor R. DeNiro. This Sunday, I'll wear my Solomon hiking boots on the Mt Baldy trail, near LA. But the huge venture will be Mt Whitney, the highest mountain in the lower 48 states. The permit they gave me to hike it is for September 19th. I'll definitely be wearing my Solomon hiking boots!

Love these boots! Definitely listen to the information though when it says to size down.

I am replacing my just-worn pair from last year. I put a lot of miles on them, and they are very supportive. I feel confident in the structure of the shoe to will prevent an ankle twist on the trail.

I do not run but I like to take walks. In the past years I had been wearing running shoes for hiking. My feet seemed tired after all the walks. We were traveling to the Canadian Rockies, so I was looking for a water proof hiking shoes as I read that I should wear hiking shoes. This is my first pair of hiking boots after trying Hoka and many other brands including Salomon. I have long toes and this model gives me the best toes room. I did not have sore feet after my walks and I love the look of the shoes. I have over 10 pairs of running shoes in my closet, I guess bye bye to running shoes and hello Salomon hiking shoes!

These boots are ideal for those wet summer days. They are nice and light and waterproof! Colour is lovely too. Thank you.

Bought these as an upgrade to another pair of Salomons-thus far, really great. Seem a bit roomy (I have a narrow foot) but doing well thus far. We'll see how they hold up on the Haute Route in the Alps in a month.

Bought these for my daughter ( who is the fussiest ) it is her first introduction into hiking as a 9 year old and she absolutely loves these shoes , she wears them everyday now and now wants another pair to wear for best . I only wear Salomon shoes and boots and have done for the last 15 years they tick every box in every way

haven't worn them yet for hiking, but i absolutely love the model and it fits really well. no need for one size smaller as it says in the description - i bought my usual and it worked just fine. beautiful design and color, love it.

I have always had Salomon boots but recently thought I'd get wide ones to accomodatemy increasingly arthritic feet. I spent a couple of weeks breaking them in, and today I've walked 8 miles (admittedly fairly flat) in the Tyrol in total comfort! They allow my toes to sit comfortably whilst having complete support. And of course they are so light. Thank you Salomon!

Just bought my boots and absolutely love them! Very supportive, yet light and easy to traverse different terrain. Highly recommend!

I am loving these boots! I had stayed away from hiking boots before because they always felt so heavy, but these were so light weight and comfortable. We hiked through so much mud (deep mud) and by the end of our hike my feet were perfectly dry! For our snow hikes they stayed dry for the first couple of hours (until I had kicked enough snow inside the shoe to get my feet all wet). No breaking in needed. And I think they are very cute! Love them and would definitely recommend.

I bought them not long ago and have used them and I like them so far. I was glad I could finally get my shoes, I have been looking for them since fall but they were back order.

This is the second pair for me, they are so comfortable. I was relieved to find this pair fit perfectly and are just as comfortable as the first pair. I wear them most days for dog walks, 3-5miles. The lady pair lasted 12months.

So comfortable right out of the gate! And they are a good looking boot!
