I wonder why Salomon discontinued the ultra 3 and expect customers to like the 4. Poor quality, poor fit, poor aesthetic with that raised flap on the heel. Bring the 3 back

I have now owned these shoes for about 3 weeks and have finally broken them in. They are still uncomfortable to drive in, as the foam around the ankle is so stiff, but I can at least walk a few miles in them. If I wear them for a day though, I end up with pain on the outside of my foot where the raised plastic is glued onto the gimmicky "active support". My girlfriend has just brought the woman's version which have lovely soft foam around the ankle. It's like Salomon knew they did a bad job on the design for the mens, released it anyway, and then fixed it on the woman's. The material is also coming unglued around the toe area, so I'll use them for my upcoming trip and then return them to the shop when I get back as it will have failed completely by then I suspect. Like the title says, poor quality and poor design.

I bought these shoes prior to a hiking trip and wore them on fairly rocky terrain. The soles are nice and grippy but the shoe doesn't fit or feel like the x-ultra 3's I have. They must be a half size longer because my custom insoles didn't fit properly and they aren't as cushy as my old ones. I wore them only 4 times and they made my feet very sore. Had to sell them at a loss. My boyfriend also has them and agreed they are not as cushy. Very disappointing.

Worse shoe Salomon has ever made. Came apart, got holes in three months I'll never buy a pair of shoes from them again.

This is my 3rd pair of salomons over the last 2-3 years. They are by far the worst shoe I have gotten from them. The tongue is constantly slipping the outside of the shoe and will not stay in place. Very annoying and uncomfortable. I have had them for 3 weeks and I am ready to throw them away. What a waste - I expected more from salomon - believe the reviews they are not good shoes

The Inner lining around the heel has completely worn away, had loads of Salomons over the last 10 years and never had this before, whether its a manufacturing issue or because of money saving I don't know but these might be the last pair of the brand i ever buy
