Third pair I've had. Warm and waterproof. Very comfortable

These are my fourth pair of Salomon hiking shoes and they are by far the best. Comfortable out of the box. Better grip than Ultras of the past and extra support in this design actually works. I was already sold on the brand but the improvements of Ultra 4 over the Ultra 3 are noteworthy.

Seems to be great product. I have never had Salomon before and after talking to a few friends decided to give them a try. I have really enjoyed them so far and have had no issues. I might consider the non Gore-Tex version toward the spring to see if they bare cooler.

I started with the X Ultra 3 due to the amazing arch support for those of us with higher arches and they never let me down (I think I probably went through 5 or 6 pairs over time). I was skeptical switching to the 4 model and bought the 3's for as long as I could on close-outs/clearance. While I still think the 3 was the better shoe, the 4 still merits a 5-star review. I live & work at 8000 elevation in the mountains and walk both on pavement and trails for about 4 miles per day. This shoe transitions great between both. I also enjoy the new lacing system, very handy and reliable. I'd say each pair lasts about 6-10 months depending on how much off trail I do.

Salomon shoes outlast every shoe I've ever had. Love the support, love the look of them. Wish I had 5 pair.

I purchased these coming up for a month ago now and initial impressions are this is a great ankle height walking boot that is waterproof, has great traction on varied terrain / surfaces and most importantly is comfortable even on longer hikes. I personally found these fit true to size and didn't need much breaking in, just wear them around the house for a few hours upon arrival and then you're good to go.

These things are awesome. Super waterproof. I have to wear orthopedic inserts for an old injury in all my shoes but I don't with these. Love em!

I bought these shoes about a month ago. It's probably the 7th or 8th pair I have bought. I am picky about fit and I fell in love with the ultras from day 1. I go through a pair a year. I wear them almost all year long for everyday, farming, and canoe tripping/camping. They hold up well and are waterproof. They offer great support and slide on quick. They look good but more importantly, are good. I put these shoes through a lot and they do what they need to do for me! I will say, after awhile, they tend to rip around the seams, but again, I wear them hard. I love them! Buy them! No, I was not paid to say this.

Wore these hiking on the Via Francigena from Martigny, SW to Lucca, IT. Rain, creeks/torrentes, heat wave -- nothing fazed these shoes. Wide toe box reduces chance of toe blisters. Secure footing on rocks, mud, scree, etc...kept me upright, except for one small mossy patch on a boulder. Arch and ankle support were both great. Now, after 500 miles of hiking, the heels are starting to show some real wear; so, I'll get another pair and carry on to Roma, then on to the next Camino.

Probably the best walking show I've owned. Good product.

I've really been struggling to find a comfortable pair of hiking shoes - physically went to 3-4 stores and looked online - always loved Salomon (from my cross country skiing days) - finally found the perfect hiking shoes - been on several hikes and I love them!

I bought these shoes a free weeks ago, I am very satisfied with the fit and comfort. Haven't had the chance to wear them in the rain yet, but they look like it wouldn't be a problem.

My "go-to" Solomon for many years was the X ULTRA 3 GORE-TEX, this is the perfect replacement. Amazing shoe for technical tails!

Solomans Gortex Sneakers are wonderful true to size my husband is a landscaper and wears a size 12. he will not wear anything else .. wonderful product

The only shoes I have worn for years are Salomon's. No other shoes fit my feet good. These are my favorite out of the 15 or 20 pairs that I have owned.

It is light and easy to move, very good quality, no tie shoe lace is very helpful, waterproof excellent.

Wore these shoes hiking in mountains on rough terrain. They did Great! They feet dry and comfortable.

my second pair. immediate good fit. stable , comfortable and durable. hike every day at high altitude in the colorado rockies.

Ive used these shoes on different level trails in dry and wet and the shoes and features are fantastic!

I have terrible arthritis in my ankles so I needed some quality. I already have the boot in the same model that gives good ankle support but needed something lighter for the summer when out dog walking. These do the job very nicely - much, much better than standard trainers or budget boots. They give me confidence to walk up and down hills of all surfaces when being pulled around by my Boxer. On the website it advices ordering a size larger. I went on chat to confirm and was advised to order a HALF size larger - not a full size. The website still suggests a size larger at time of writing. The half size larger than normal fits me perfectly. No laces to tie - just pull firmly until comfy then tuck the loose lace into the pocket at the top of the tongue. I've not yet discovered how to replace these if they break. So far used in all weathers (a dog gives you no choice, you gotta go!) and everything, so far, is Tickety Boo!

Shoes were great for a winter trip to blizzard stricken Toronto and Montreal. Really made walking in all the snow and uneven, hilly streets oF Montreal. Perfect for walking the trails around our condo here in Edmonton. Only complaint is the lacing system in b ok th shoes are beginning to fray. Am worried that th3h will snap if pp pulled too hard. Other than that. Love them
