This bag is great if you travel for work. Easily goes from a laptop bag for your meetings to a backpack for the airport.

I carry a lot of gear and papers for work and I needed something that gives me flexibility when it comes to carrying options. This doesn't disappoint. Lots of pockets for organizing papers, cables and tech. Being able to choose between shoulder bag, backpack or handles is great for a (slightly) older guy who has to manage tight places, minor aches and a lot moving around. I'm already a Timbuk2 fan & this is another reason why.

I was looking for a business-type bag with backpack straps to use as my smallest carry-on item. I also wanted it to be able to slip over a suitcase handle. Lastly, I wanted it to be horizontal in orientation and have room enough for snacks and travel supplies that I could easily access under my seat on the plane. This had it all! I just traveled to Maui from Florida with it, and it was great. The only thing I don't like about it is that it's all black. I wish it could've come in a nice blue or green. But the functionality and quality are top notch! Highly recommend!

I got this bag to take to school (teacher) and for after work. I love all of the pockets and the laptop part. I also really appreciate being able to use it as a backpack if I chose. The only thing that disappointed me was the lack of a pencil area like I have had in other Timbuk2mbags.

It's an excellent laptop for travel. Lots of compartments with the ability to use it as a backpack or use the shoulder strap. Great price as well.

I love the look and how comfortably it fits on my shoulders as a backpack. Although I will not use the messenger strap a lot, it gives me an option to convert if I'll need one. The compartments inside are simple. Overall, it looks very durable and professional.

When my previous school book bag/computer bag was needing replacement, this briefcase backpack seemed to be a good way to go. Was it ever! I love its many intuitive organizers and have had this bag with me daily for work as well as recently using it as my "personal item" carry-on for a week away from home. As with my previous purchases from your company, this bag is incredibly well-made and I anticipate many years of use.

This bag does not disappoint. I was looking for something beyond the typical Timbuk2 messenger bag and backpack. Those I have and love, but some client-facing meetings require a look a touch higher than backpacks and messenger bags. Queue Timbuk2 Scheme. It is stylish- I routinely get compliments from east coast colleagues and strangers, with some asking where I got it. This is a briefcase without looking like every other guy carrying their leather bags. It is rugged- the zipper never jams. The material stands up to daily use of being thrown, kicked, dropped, dragged, etc. No issues keeping my laptop and documents dry. It is adaptable- sometimes a long walk with one shoulder strap can bother my shoulder. The modular feature of the hidden backpack straps afford all the comforts of two straps, with the ability to hide them prior to arriving at my destination. It is functional- the briefcase has plenty of pockets with zippers for a variety of every day items. I read in the reviews others wanted more compartments, but it has plenty for my needs. Too many and I might find reasons to carry things I don't really need. Timbuk2 produces lifetime bags and this briefcase holds to that standard. Highly recommend.

I love this bag. I use it everyday as a teacher to carry my laptop along with students papers. I was worried that the color would be susceptible to be dirty; but after a few months of both indoor and outdoor use it still looks and works great.

As a remote worker, I used this as my mobile office. Easy to arrange and manage. Comfortable strap to carry across my shoulder. Also used on vacation. I wish the interior were a bright fabric instead of dark to make it easier to find things.

Every day carry. I never leave the house without it, perfect for work and weekends away.

I use it everyday, it is my full time companion. It is perfectly designed, great functionalities, perfect size and superb quality. There was a lot thought into this product. I can feel that everything in it has been carefully considered to deliver the best possible experience for the user. I wouldn't change anything.

I carry a guitar with me using shoulder straps half the time I commute to school or wherever so a backpack was more combersom than I wanted on those days. I grabbed a briefcase/saddle bag type bag from a thrift store and it had a bad strap on it and was not my favorite to carry when I didnt have a guitar with me. So this bag fulfills both needs and is extremely comfortable. I wish there was a pen organizer so I can grab a pen or pencil quick but there is more than enough space for all the stuff I carry every day. The bag as a backpack is super comfortable, and the shoulder strap is very well padded and works great. I also love the look of the grey in person. Would definitely recommend this bag.

I bought the previous version of this bag in 2010, it's been my work travel bag these past 12 years. Still in perfect shape - slightly broken in - looks as good as the day I bought it. I'm picking up a new one because I like the innovation on the front flap pocket - just a bit more accessible than the last one. This is a pro's travel bag - when you're running from the plane > to the rental car > to the client - you want this bag with you.

Greetings from Finland! Five years ago I wanted multi-functional messenger bag/backpack to my son. Luckily I wandered to Timbuk2 web-site and got Ace Laptop Backpack Messenger Bag for him. It hasn't broken yet, zippers work, fabric looks nice, there is nothing wrong in it and it has been used every day, in school, in travel and he even does his daily shopping with it. Technically I didn't need a new bag for him, but just in case you might discontinue this product, I purchased a new one. I really believe that we need products which last. So sincerely big thanks to Timbuk2!

The bag is pretty well built and the attachment method of both sets of strap s is secure. The space is pretty good for a messenger bag, however for a backpack it's a bit small. It is overall a pretty good messenger bag and functional as a backpack.
