As a fan of Teva, I decided to swap my regular Tevas for a new Hurricane style. The straps are not adjustable and would not allow me to velcro across to secure. Such a same in design

What happened to Teva. I wanted these for beach house shoes. Awful styling. Too much shoe to be comfortable.

The fit was small I already have a pair of the Teva older version in a size 9 womens had them for about 7 years they fit perfect but they were the Velcro strap ones
I bought these pair online in size 9 and tried to adjust the straps the bed of the foot was short and the straps started to hurt my toes I am so disappointed cause I bought them back in December 2021 and have no box never tried them until this spring and 30 day have passed for returning them

After decades of having to wear hiking boots with orthotics, I discovered I could wear Teva Hurricane XL2s (or historic equivalent) without pain. This was my first time buying Hurricane Verge and I was excited to try something a little different. Unfortunately, my feet are wide across the metatarsals and very narrow at the heel, so, without an ankle strap to hold the heel of the sandal to my foot, my heel kept coming off the sandal. My foot rode forward and my toes started to cross the forward edge of the sole. Tightening up the straps merely caused the circulation in my forefoot to be cut off. If I ever wear them again it will be only when I don't need to walk farther than a few steps.

The cross strap design allows the foot to move forward and not retain position in sandal.
I returned sandals per return policy with explanation of why I thought the design was flawed.
I never received my money back.

I hated the adjustment clip on the straps. Velcro is wonderful & easy to adjust. I didn't like the pads at all but I can see why they are in the shoe.

Nothing is great about the product. I've been wearing Teva sandals for hiking for 15 years and have always been thrilled with the product. I also own a pair of Teva Hiking Boots that I love. This sandal was extremely difficult to get the straps adjusted to a decent fit (heel strap sits too low - cross strap over top of foot throws off the adjustment). I bought my normal size, couldn't get the right adjustment, returned them and ordered the next size up. I still couldn't get the straps to fit. I had to turn around less that 1/2 way into an urban hike due to blisters that were forming and barely made it back due to blister pain. It was the criss-cross strap across the top the the foot that was the issue. I reordered the traditional model and am sure I'll be satisfied and blister free soon. Customer service (so far) has been very responsive.

I have had the Hurricane for a little over a week. They are super uncomfortable. Do I have to break them in for a while till they are comfortable? I'd actually like to return them.

Feet sweep, shoe does not break in nicely. Horribly uncomfortable. Would not recommend.

I sent them back because the fit was terrible. Very uncomfortable- it's like the designer/ product developer was completely oblivious to the shape of a foot. Straps in the wrong places etc.

They were right size, but couldn't make the straps tight enough on my ankles to make them secure. ended up sending them back.

I bought a pair for my self and a pair for my mom. I had to return both pair. We loved the look of the sandal, it is a very attractive. The problem is in the mechanics and limits of the straps. Most of the pressure is put at the top of the foot, just under the toes. This is where is feels to tight and causes discomfort. There is also not enough strap given, when you loosen it there is to much Velcro left showing. The strap should be longer. Also it needs an ankle strap, like on the tanway, or any other hurricane. The ankle is where you want to really anchor the sandal, not at the top of the foot. It was really uncomfortable and disappointing. Best looking teva I've ever seen, but also the most uncomfortable.

Great concept but my feet are between in size. I got size 8 thinking it'd be a good fit but the front of my feet slip out. That's after adjusting the straps. A size 9 would have made the fit clown-like so I just did not even bother. What a waste of money because I can't return them.

The strap hurt my toe and it was too heavy. I knew out of the box that I didn't like this shoe. Also, I thought it looked better in advertisements than in real life. I was able to return easily. It may be better for someone else tho. I personally do not like the hurricane sole because it feels hot and sticky and heavy.

Bought these sandals to replace our other Tevas which we use for easy trail walking/hiking and everyday wear. The buckle is a great convenience, the cross strap is necessary on the trail, the shape of the sole is supportive and the cushion on your heel has been a game changer in preventing rubbing/blisters, etc. So, in concept, it would have been a great sandal but in trying it on, the cross straps seem to tighten around your bunion even after adjusting, which is ideally where you'd want some freedom, not constriction. The cross strap also sits awkwardly on your toes and I could already tell I'd get a nice little rope burn line if I continued to walk on it for a couple of miles. The strap on the back sits low on your heel and feels like it's always about to slide off. My husband had similar complaints with fit. The sole could be upgraded to Vibram soles for extra comfort and a non-slip grip.
I'm crossing my fingers for a better version of these! :)
