I have all of the previous Timp's...these are the best! They are perfect for my narrow foot....Please don't change anything about these shoes...us runners with narrow feet need these! Got them in 3 days, 1/2 off, took them out of the box and went for a technical (hills) 5 mile run...no need to do anything but run my run!!! Perfect!!!

I ordered a half size up for hiking and I could have bought my regular size. Still happy with the fit and feel of the shoe. Excellent for hiking and bike riding! Deciding on another pair now!

I am so happy with the Timp3 shoes. I was worried they would be too small but they fit perfectly (true to size). The rounded toe makes the shoes SO comfortable. They are sturdy and comfortable for hiking. I have struggled with plantar fasciitis and heel spurs for years and these shoes are perfectly supportive and I find myself wearing them throughout the day, even after my hike/walk. Will be a repeat customer for sure!

I had the Timp 1.5 and feel like this is an improvement, mostly because the heel and midfoot feel more secure, while still offering a roomy toe box. My previous timps felt great on dirt roads and mellow trails, but I couldn't wear them on technical or rocky/steep trails because I felt like my foot would roll, despite lacing my shoes specifically to lock down my heel. I do have pretty narrow heels so someone with a more 'normal' volume foot might not have that issue. I still don't know if I would hike or run across big scree fields with these as there may still be a little play but I do feel much better running on more technical trails compared to the previous model. I also like the cushion on. these- I feel like its the perfect amount to keep my legs feeling fresh day-to-day running without being too excessive. These were true to size for me. While it doesn't affect performance, I love most of the Altra colors and I think think the grey and pink look even better in person than they did online!

I wear a nine in boots and closed toe shoes. In running sneakers I wear a 10. In this style shoe a 10 was too big. The wider toe box makes it so I only need to go a half size up. It’s nice to have the foot be in its natural state. The color is lovely. The only thing I wish is that it didn’t look clownish when I look down on my foot. But I will take the comfort over the style. Also I think it may only look clownish when I look down. At other angles they do not. I have a thin regular foot but a wider toe box. So it actually nice to find a good running shoe that fits my whole foot with decent arch support.

I absolutely live the roominess of the toe bed in this shoe!

I have severe arthritis in most of my toes, so I was looking for a shoe with a wide toe box. My orthotics fit in nicely as well, so I couldn't be more pleased. A++

I've been racing/ training in theTimp for the past 3 years and it is without a doubt my favorite shose for mountain running. I have a narrow foot so the the width in this shoes feels great along with just the right amount of cushion for longer days. This is the only shoe in the Altra line up that I go up a half size for the perfect fit. The new Timp 3 feels a bit more low profile and sleeker. I love the new lace strap to keep your shoes from coming untied. This will be my shoe of choice for 100 mile racing.

Love thee shoes so much! Took them out on a trail run out PFO on very technical terrain. They did not disappoint. I'm transitioning back after wearing Hoka and experiencing some hip pain. I felt strong and hips felt good today on the trails. I liked the cushion and grip as well. I'll definitely be buying these again!!

First, these are incredibly cute shoes! I'm using them for walking on our asphalt trail and tomorrow planning on a hike that is primarily on lava, since I live on the big island that will be a normal terrain for me. The reviews were a bit misleading. I got the impression that they run small so I sized up to a 6 1/2 and even though I kept them, I think my usual size six would've been better. The tow area is so roomy that sizing up was not necessary. My only suggestion is to make the plum colored pair with gray sides instead of white. I was imagining these really cute plum colored shoes with dirty white bottom sides. So I ordered the gray, which I really like a lot. I was also happy to read about your supply chain and was happy to go over my budget to support you were mission and values, which are a match for mine.

I had recently tried the Oboz hiking shoe which looked really cool and had a lot of structure but after one month of long walks I realized that it was irritating my Morton's neuroma and I needed to return them. Thank goodness for REI. I just discovered this shoe yesterday and it is so comfortable and squishy in the best way. As soon as I finish this review I will go out and walk a little 4 mile loop. I have never had a sneaker/hiking shoe feel this comfortable!

This shoe fits me like it was custom made for my foot and comfort. PLEASE DO NOT CHANGE THIS SHOE. It's perfect. Stable but not stiff. Cushy but not squishy. Light for sure. Lacing does not bind, just secures. It has bounce which makes my jog fun and easy. I've been running for about 55 years and this has to be the best shoe I've had and I've had many.

I've only put 20 miles on these so far, but they are great!! I have not had the issues that the men have been having with the shoes falling apart . True to Altra right out of the box on the trail no problem! GOAT MODE ON!!

Slightly snugger width but still the boxed toe room. Yet, I need half size larger than my Torin or Lone Peak shoes. Unfortunately, I wear 11 in others but need 11.5 in this style so wont work.

These are awesome and feel great straight out of the box. If the stack height was a little less I would buy 1000 pair. Sad minimalist shoes are down trending. But for what it is it's a home run!

I liked the Timp 1.5. Couldn't do the Timp 2 (too tight, stiff, heal slip). I've only done 1 run, but so far I'm loving the Timp 3. Fits like every other Altra shoe I wear (Timp 1.5, Torin 4, Olympus 4), and I don't think I've EVER gone out on a run without having to adjust my laces, but I did today, with no heal slip. Great job Altra!.

This is my fifth pair of TIMPS (had the 1's couple of 2's) and after a couple of recent Altra purchases where the Left shoe has been off-kilter and visibly imbalanced, I now check every single pair for evenness. These TIMP 3's are balanced and even. That said, I must say that the tread is slippery on wet cement. I do wish Altra would get a stickier tread, though perhaps the hardness is because they're expecting you to midfoot strike instead of heel strike?
I'd also recommend:
Topo Athletic, possibly the new KEEN nxis Speed, which looks close to natural-foot

I have completely worn out the two previous Timp models. Currently wearing the Timp 2.0 in size 9. I ordered a Timp 3.0 in 9 and they are way too big. Sadly, returning and trying an 8.5. The toe box is bigger as well as the arch area. I love these shoes and would purchase another 2.0 in a heart beat.

I have been wearing Altra TIMPs for several years now. They really help because I have hammer toes and the space in the toe box allows my toes to spread out naturally. But this model seems narrower.

I ordered these and another similar style a 1/2 size apart; this was the smaller of the two pair but slipped more in the heel even though it fit more snuggly in the toe area. I decided to keep the other style, which is marked as a half size larger but didn't slip in the heel.
