Read many reviews stating that these were a great "entry-level" option for those looking to transition to minimalist shoes. I ordered my usual size, but these were surprisingly too small. My big toe was coming up against the end of the toe box (both with and without socks). I was also surprised by how narrow these are considering they are catering to the minimalist/barefoot market. I don't have wide feet, but these were definitely compressing in on the sides much like a Converse or Nike. The ordering, shipping, and return process was easy so no complaints there. Unfortunately, these just aren't for me and I will be looking elsewhere for minimalist shoe options.

Not a good fit - not foot-shaped at all. Too narrow in the toe box and wide in the mid-foot. I love my Trail Glove 4's and really want to love these but they just don't come close to fitting.

I have had numerous pairs of Merrell shoes, mainly "barefoot". I have always been a size 8. This recent pair was a size 8 however, after several days of wearing them my feet hurt, especially my toes. Thought I ordered maybe the wrong size, but NO, size in shoe is 8. Compared with 2 of my older pair and they were "shorter" than my previous shoes. Have not tried to return because of the hassle. Bought a another brand at a local store where I could try on and walk around.

The heel digs in, which did approve over time, but my foot keeps sliding forward and my toes are hitting the end (even though I sized up). These just can't compare to other brands that focus on barefoot shoes.

This is a sock with a very thin flexible sole, no support whatsoever. I couldn't walk on my driveway (rocks) because the sole was so thin. I don't think it would protect your foot against injury when hiking. I returned them.

I am so disappointed at the new version of the Vapor Glove. I have true-to-size feet. I have never had problems with older versions of the Vapor Glove. This v5 is narrower - my feet can fit narrow shoes (like Birkenstocks) but this is ridiculously narrow, smaller, and the quality of the materials has decreased. Returning for a refund and going to look at other brands for barefoot trail shoes.

Product changed. Merrell Women's Vapor Glove 4 was great. These aren't what I need.

I was so excited to purchase these shoes, Until I tried wearing them I've had for a year, still can't wear for more than 30-60 minutes as they kill my feet! Wishing I'd returned them

I bought these shoes hoping to replace my Vapor Glove 3s. Unfortunately somewhere after the 3s and the new Vapor Glove 5s the toe box is no longer anatomically shaped. Instead you can both feel and see the straight shoe line in the mid line which is not a comfortable space for your toes to splay in. I hope that Merrell returns to their previous design otherwise I will have to start looking for a new shoe brand.

I bought three pair. Hard to find barefoot shoes. I wore one pair for less than two months and they have holes in the soles! Second pair almost immediately you can see the wear! Very disappointed. If they improve the soles they would be five stars. So for now I guess it is shoe goo !

The toe box is so much more narrow than previous models, the elastic around the ankle hole is painful, and the plastic bit over the big toe is extremely uncomfortable. I've lived in my Vapor Glove 3s and was looking to replace them, but it looks like I'll have to try another brand who hasn't compromised their shoe. So disappointed!

I've been running in Vapor Gloves since the 2nd generation. Loved the wide toe box and lightweight, breathable feel. I felt light and fast in those. When the new generation came out, my husband ordered me a pair pre-release thinking they would be just as good. WRONG!!! This new generation is HORRIBLE!!!! My feet ache and sweat causing me to feel uncomfortable (not only in my feet but all over) to the point I don't want to run anymore. These shoes do not flex and I lose the contact feel with the ground which is very important in "barefoot" like shoes. And don't get me started on the lack of tongue and the i "inner sock". Please go back to the past styling of the Vapor Glove line. I really don't want to find a new style of shoe to wear. I was already working up to be a barefoot runner as well, these shoes may make me go 100% barefoot sooner due to this new generation.

I bought these shoes probably two months ago I wore them twice same brand same everything except they change the toe and now the shoe hurts my foot do you not buy

Based on other reviews I thought these were the ones for me. I walk 4-5 miles a day and was looking for something lightweight. Took a walk and after about 3/4 mile returned home and changed to my older shoes. No support at all. My feet, knees and back hurt and I've never had pain there before. Also could feel every rock under my feet because the soles are so thin. Will be returning.
