I bought these shoes to go hiking and wore them once and was miserable. They were not comfortable climbing down rocks and I couldn't wait to take them off when I got home - I will definitely not wear them again. They fit true to size.

I'm disappointed about the sizing of these shoes. I have ordered more than a few pairs of Merrill shoes and they were always true to size with a roomy fit but these were a good half inch smaller. Great shoes though!

I purchased the Moab Speed in charcoal/altitude, size 6M. I haven't worn them hiking yet, but my initial impression is Merrell achieved a lightweight hiking shoe by combining the sole of a hiking shoe with the upper of a trail running shoe. The functional tradeoff that results is that you lose weight (yay) and also lose ankle stability. This is adequate for my needs: my personal opinion is that hiking shoes don't offer sufficient ankle stability for hiking anyway, and I purchased these to be worn walking through fields and farms. I can't speak to the durability of the shoe, yet.

I loved how this shoe felt inside, fit wise, and the toe width was better than lots of other Merrell trail shoes. It's just rather stiff and not as cushy & flexible as I need.

They fit on the smaller side for a size 11. More like a 10 1/2. Very comfortable for walking. Keep feet dry in rainy conditions.

The shoe has great grip on rocky trails. I want to say it is true to size but not my favorite pick to use on steep mountain trails. Seems like the foot doesn't get the needed support and the toes hit the front of shoe going down hill. I tied it hard to find the support but it didn't work either. Other then that no issues discovered and find comfort for hours wearing them at work.

great value with deal! right side is too tight for me, not sure if it's a problem with the shoes or my feet. But this never happened to shoes from other brands.

I really love the look of these shoes in the red and they would have been a great option for hiking as they have good overall firm support and I really beefy Vibram sole. Unfortunately it is a bit narrow in the toebox, and my toe brushes up against the front/side of the big toe area when moving my foot in a downward motion. This could be painful if going down a lot of steep inclines so I have to return to be on the safe side. Still on the search for a good hiking shoe with a slightly wider toebox…

This is a great and comfortable hiking shoe with lots of support and cushioning in the sole. I'm taking off one star because I find the foot hole to be a bit too big so there is minimal ankle support. I am going to get some arch support inserts for these shoes (because even though there is good support, I have high arches and could feel the wear on them after a day of hiking) and I'm hoping that might help reposition my foot in the hiking shoe so that it doesn't feel as loose in the ankle. I'm definitely looking forward to continuing to break these in on many hikes throughout the summer!

I love merrell shoes! Most of my shoes are merrells! I wear them at work, where I walked a lot!

Runs somewhat wide but wonderful support and cushioning plus a gripping sole for slippery terrain. Great for trail hiking in the Big Five!

These sneakers squeak indoors. I liked the styling on top, but the white bottoms didn’t appeal to me.

These are very comfortable on trails but find not as much on sidewalks or asphalt trails. These are a bit big but as someone else mentioned, just wore a slightly thicker sock. Order the size you would usually do.

The fit of these shoes were not good for me. One shoe fit looser than the other. Didn't care for the footbed as much, as some of the other Merrell sneakers.

I bought these because I love the colors- purple/moss green. They ARE very pretty shoes, but they have very inadequate cushioning and arch support. The insole is a joke. I've worn them a few time just to walk my dog, and my feet and legs hurt every time. I replaced the insole with a quality one, but still doubt I'll ever hike in them because they are too hard and stiff.

I was very excited about this shoe. I have narrow feet and usually wear the Siren line. But thought I'd try something different. The foot pan was too wide for me in this line. Had to return.

Having worn Merrell shoes for years, this pair is the not the same Merrell fit I expected. The collar padding and the heel feels very loose, requiring extra grip on the shoes so it doesn't come off. There is extra space in the back, about half-inch which may contribute to the loose feel, but the front feels fitted. Going down a smaller size may result tight fit in the front.

Excellent quality but the sizes have shifted down by a full size. So, as far as I can see, what used to be a size 10 is now a size 11 and what used to be a size 11 is now a size 12. I last ordered Merrells about 8 years ago and although those original shoes still fit just fine (so my feet have not grown!), the same size now, in a new shoe, is too small.

I love my Moab hikers so thought that I'd love the Moab Speed hikers. Unfortunately the heels are wider on these shoes and when I walk my heels slide out. I wish I had returned them.

I bought a pair of these this spring to use for light day hiking. Here is why I will NOT use these for that purpose: they do not grip on rock. Slipped on granite uphill. Have sworn by Vibram soles for hiking for decades. These are poor. These shoes have been relegated to street shoes. Not a good hiking shoe - at least in the Appalachians.

I wore these couple times on a hill walk (pavement) and the sizing is different from the other Merrell's. On the way down the hill my toes were really cramped and it hurt, on the uphill the heel area was to big, my heels kept slipping out. I'll try different socks, see if that helps. Love the color, but not loving the fit of this one. Won't take it on vacation, as planned.

These were good for hiking but the longer I wore them the more uncomfortable they were. I have always loved Merrill and have never been uncomfortable. These are not my favorite shoes and I will limit using these

Super comfy and a perfect fit, but they look and feel pretty cheap. Most of the outer components are glued instead of being stitched together, and the material where the toe bends is not very flexible. Time will tell how long they last.

Wider fit than normal for Moab. After a few hours my feet were achy, which is definitely not normal for merrell.
