I bought these in part because I loved the colors and shoes for women are all purple and turquoise and pink. Ugh. I'm a solid women's 8.5, sometimes a 9 so I can often buy a 7 men's. Apparently Merrell runs very large. No can do. Merrell, please make women's shoes that are not in pastels!

I got these for working all day on my feet. So far, they are a great choice. They are extremely sturdy, with a thick, cushiony sole and good traction. Highly recommend.

I bought these shoes one day and went on a 20 mile, 3 day backpacking trip the next. No blisters, no hot spots. They were perfect.

These are my favorite Merrell's. I have used these for every day wear. To the office or just around town. I wore them exclusively for a 8 day trip to Belgium and Germany putting in 18K to 20K steps every day. They were great. Keep making them Merrell!

I purchased these shoes to try as daily kick-around shoes as I have been a Merrell fan for years. They have turned out to be very sturdy and in fact the most comfortable pair of shoes I have ever owned. I went ahead and ordered a second pair in a different color scheme since I enjoyed them so much. They fit true to size and I highly recommend them!

Very nice quality shoe but I had to return it because they were wider than other Merrells I’ve worn.

Very nice shoe. they are very light and supportive at the same time. Haven't had them long but I am very happy with them so far. With my Merrell experience, I expect they will last a long time.

I usually bring a couple different shoes/boots on hiking trips, but we were flying to the southwest for this one and luggage space was tight, so I decided on getting something that was extremely versatile, and these seemed to fit the bill. The trip involved 3 summit attempts, Wrightson at 9,500ft, Humpreys at 12,600ft, and Mica at 8,700. About 40 miles of desert hiking through SAGU, another 20 around Sedona, and about 10 miles of class 2 and 3 climbing through Calico rocks. Most importantly the shoes did all this without any significant amount off foot pain, blisters etc. Nothing more than your average end of the day soreness. I could not find anywhere if these have a rock plate, but stone bruising wasn't an issue either way. I don't think they do, but I think they are using a stiff, thick midsole to compensate. That might be an issue with a heavier pack but I was only using a daypack for everything. The vibram soles are absolutely phenomenal. I was worried about the shallower lug depth, but the well designed pattern compensates and the compound is very soft and slicky. I was usually one of the last to have to pull out the microspikes as the summit approaches became icy, and their grip on the rocks when climbing and scrambling let me take routes others couldn't. Obviously though the tradeoff of a softer compound is increased wear. If you are using these as a daily shoe you might not be happy with the longevity, but for a dedicated hiking shoe the tradeoff is well worth it. One shoe did loose a front and back lug. That is a reasonable amount of wear to me given the circumstances, and I think probably just the result of a bad glue up on that sole. The upper on these looks very fragile, and that was a big concern for me, but in reality it's a super durable material and the traditional MOAB exoskeleton that usually falls apart has been moved underneath where its protected and wont catch on rocks. Breathability is about average. Perfect for an 80 degree day in the desert, but I think beyond that you'd want something more breathable. They were also fine at 30-40 degrees on the mountaintops so long as your time there is limited to a couple hours or less. The weight is quite good. A huge improvement over traditional Moab's or even the FST, but they aren't quite as light as some of the dedicated trail runners out there, but to me the extra durability and comfort are well worth the minor weight penalty. The two big downsides to me are 1. The laces are awful. They simply wont hold and need to be adjusted and retied constantly, however this is fixable with aftermarket solutions. 2. The interior liner, like all Merrell's I have tried is not that durable. They are staring to come apart a bit at the top, which is still better than previous moabs I've had with the same milage, but still not ideal. Some competitors have gone to a rock hard lining to combat this, but that also makes them uncomfortable. I don't know what the solution is, but if there isn't one that doesn't also compromise comfort I guess I'm fine with it. Lastly I'd also just thrown in that the old school 10mm drop is a bit much. I'm not necessarily a huge zero drop fan, but I do prefer a milder amount of drop, and 10mm can put your ankle in a awkward position and also put a lot of stress on your knee on steep fast descents. My wife has knee issues and could probably never use these. 5mm would probably be a better compromise. Overall though Id have to say these are the best all around, do everything hiking shoe that I've had.
