This shoe really helped with my hotspots on longer walks/hikes on paved and hard surfaces. I've work Moab Ventilators for years, but once I started doing some rucks on paved trails, around 3 miles I started struggling with serious hotspots no matter what I did. I tried out the Moab Speed, going up a half size, and it has been an AMAZING difference. Yesterday I did 7 miles and my feet are doing quite well, didn't notice anything at all until maybe 6+ miles. They aren't as great for anything technical or wet- I got back to my Vents for that - but for rucking on our local bike trail around the lake they have been a real Godsend!

I can't believe how comfy these shoes are, my feet felt absolutely better as soon as I slipped them on. I work on my feet allot, I'm an avid trail hiker (I also clear trails and make new ones). I can't wait to see how these last but as it stands I will be ordering another pair so I have a work pair and a nice pair to wear outside of work. 12 outta 10 HIGHLY RECOMMEND. They seem very sturdy and have a para cord type laces.

I have owned maybe 15 pairs of Moab's and they never disappoint. Crazy comfortable out of the box, light, supportive and consistent fit and feel from year to year. I hope the make these things forever!

My new Moab Speed shoes are extremely comfortable. I have multiple pairs of Merrells and these may be the most comfortable yet. I'm currently romping through western and central Turkey with my son and brought two pairs of shoes with me, both Merrells. Perfect shoes for a great adventure.

Great footwear, fits very comfortably with no break in period. These are tough, solid and stable. After wearing them everyday, all day for almost a year the top fabric has just started splitting right at the 'toe crease'. This is an observation not a complaint.

I'm not exactly an expert hiker, but I like staying fit and I love the outdoors. These shoes are perfect for me. Much lighter and more comfortable than my old Moab's. To me, more like a trail runner than a hiking boot.

Fit, features, and quality of the construction are everything I was hoping for based on the numerous reviews I screened before purchasing. While reasonably comfortable right-out-of-the-box they became progressively more enjoyable after 25-30 miles of trails with a 10 kg pack. I agree with other reviewers that the laces are a bit long. Nonetheless, these are now my go-to's for every trek - be it pavement or trail. This is now my 11th pair of Merrell shoes, and with the exception of dress shoes, nothing else goes on my feet.

I use these as running shoes. I began running in hiking shoes a while back when I accidentally discovered that having a rock-plate in my shoe helped save me from the unresolved foot pain that had sidelined me for years. The downside, of course, is that hiking shoes are heavier and more cumbersome than running shoes. So, what a revelation these light and nimble shoes turned out to be! Protective and fast - who knew!? I agree with other comments about the heel slip- which I've noted in other Merrill shoes. But I've learned that by planting the heel end and elevating the toe while tying the laces, I can avoid it, and actually gain a touch more space in the already roomy-enough toe box. This shoe is a win for me. Can't wait to hike!
