Meh. I tried. I really liked the look of this shoe. I wanted to find a waterproof walking shoe that I could take for dog walks in the morning on our loose gravel trail - rain or shine. I ordered my size 7 and there was way too much room in the toe and my heel kept slipping out. Then I ordered a half size down to a 6.5 and while the toes were better, the width was too narrow. Just not the shoe for me. I'm so bummed out - I'm returning both. :/ They really nice looking though. I will probably consider a Clifton 7 for roads in the Spring and MAYBE I'll try the EVO Mafate or even the Speedgoat 4 GTX but I'm sort of coming to my wits end trying to find something that's more a trail shoe rather than a hiking boot. Maybe even a Hoka One One Toa would be a better option.

I have problem feet with neuropathy. Recommended by Orthotics's to try this brand. Wanted lightweight and waterproof. They are as expected. My feet are getting used to the different sole. Plenty of room in the toes

This was the 2 pair I have owned. These did not stand up to the support the 1st pair gave me. It felt like the shock support was much less.

I wear these for work because I am sometimes walking in dewy grass and I hate the feeling of wet socks. These were great until about the 8 month mark when they were no longer waterproof. I expected a longer life for them than that. Disappointing and I am not sure I would get them again.

I've had two other pairs of Hokas before, both Bondi in size 7. They fit me very well and never cramped my toes. As soon as I put the Challengers on I knew they were too tight in the toe box, my toes were right at the edge of the shoe, and my small toe also felt very cramped. The material for the upper doesn't feel plush as at all, it feels somewhat harsh. I didn't get any sense of what the midsole might feel like All in all, not what I was expecting. I'll be returning these and will do more research on Hokas that have have plush padding, and are comfortable to wear all day. As a nurse up on my feet most of my day, I need to have shoes that can get me through my shift, and enable me to go home with my feet feeling OK. I've read the Cliftons have quite a few of these features and will be looking at them next, as well as possibly another pair of Bondis .

The shoe is overall comfortable, love that my feet don't get wet when showering a resident. Only downfall is, the tread on the bottom is already lifting up on the sides after only wearing them a week.

I kept these as trail shoes, but they aren't the least bit water proof or even water resistant. I stepped on a rock in a creek that was just deep enough to get to the mesh part of the shoe and I instantly felt it.

This style was so uncomfortable for a Hoka.. Not the cushion shock absorber, like other Hoka styles.

These Challenger 6 GTX were not as comfortable as the Bondi 7. They are not as cushioned and a little stiff.

After all the talk I decided to purchase my first pair of HOKAs for work. I stand all day. These are stiff. At the end of the day my feet are killing me. Will try inserts for my high arches. Hopefully that will help. Ugh.

I'm on my feet walking on concrete 8 hours and maybe 12 hours a day. I also suffer from plantar fascists. I couldn't get past the stiffness of the shoe due to the pain.

First time buyer. They are comfortable; however after a few days of wearing them I started hearing a noise coming from the heel on the right, and had to return them

I have run in a dozen pairs of Cliftons, so when I needed a new pair of trail/winter running shoes I thought I would try the trail gortex version. I typically use these shoes for easy to moderate trail running, and running in the winter slop of Wisconsin. I have put about 90 miles on this shoe, and feel compelled to say that I think they are incredibly uncomfortable. They are super stiff, it feels like running on a board. They keep my feet dry, I do feel secure running in the muck and slippery roads in the winter, but I will not be purchasing again.

These shoes feel so good but that edge on the tongue really does dig in to your foot.

This new version is much different than the original. I liked the original for its wide base (tread) that absorbed the rocks without rolling off of them and for the space in the forefoot without being too wide in the ankle. Your new version is way too narrow - especially at ball of foot/toes The shoe rolls from heal to toe great like it used to, just no room. Had to return.

I wanted to love these and just couldn't. The shoe was too narrow at my arch and would feel uncomfortable after a 20 minutes or so. Great looking and waterproof! Finally stopped trying and am returning.

I love my Hoka Clifton 7 and was hoping I could find a waterproof Hoka that was just as comfortable. I will be returning this shoe since it is not close to being as great as my Clifton 7. The arch seems off and I feel like I'm walking on a hard service.

Loved the look of this sneaker. My foot is not narrow, however I have never needed to order a wide width. This sneaker was so narrow that it even squeezed the ball of my foot. I have 2 other style Hokas that fit fine. Very disappointed!

Definitely was not the typical Hoka experience that I was expecting. I bought these for a trail race and thank goodness I tried them out on a short run around the neighborhood beforehand. There was not the typical cushiony support that I have come to expect from Hoka. It was as if I could feel the rock plate more or less smacking into the bottom of my foot with each step. The soles were rock hard. Barely made it two miles before I have blisters on my toes - this was with swiftwick socks and shammy cream - very disappointed with these. The toe box was also more narrow than other Hokas that I own.

These shoes were comfortable for about 2 hours until I noticed soreness on the inside of my right foot near the tongue. Upon examination I found a large seam lump where the tongue connects to the rim of the shoe. The padded tongue does not cover the bump like they do on the other connections. This pair will be going back and will reorder same shoes. Hopefully this is a one off problem because I really likes everything else about the them.

Feels fantastic for about 4 hours then start killing my feet. If I take them off for about an hour I can usually put them back on and they are just ok rest of the day
