Loved everything about this shoe especially traction and tread which is better than any other Hoka trail shoes that I have worn. However, the toe box is so narrow and pointy that I could tell instantly that they would perpetuate blisters on the medial side of both big toes. These blisters started with the updated Stinson 5 and I have yet to discover a Hoka model that does not give me these blisters when running since my Stinson ATR 4. Loved the wide toe box on those. The wide toe box of Stinson 4 with the cushion, tread, and vibram sole of Mafate Speed 3 would be shoe perfection! Unfortunately I had to return these and switch back to Altra Olympus 4 for more toe box room. Please return to the Stinson 4 type of toe box shape!

It was my first - time purchase of HOKA shoes. Ordered my usual shoe size 7.5 (I'm Brooks fan in athletic shoes for the last decade). When they arrived, they looked bigger than I expected. They fit me as if they were size 8. So, I had to return them. I went to my local store that sells HOKA shoes to try on these shoes in smaller size, or possibly different shoe style. At the store I find out that my size in HOKA is size 7. The MAFATE SPEED 3 was very comfortable on my feet regardless they were half size longer. They didn't feel heavy (it was my fear bc they weight 9.5 oz). Awesome colors too (Moroccan Blue and orange). I ended up buying Bondi shoes at the store in size 7, happy with them.

I normally don't wear wide but I think I could've used a wide in these. Trail running is newer to me so I wasn't too sure what to expect. I definitely love my speedgoat pair a lot more.

I work 12 hour days. The Bondi are so much better for comfort. After the 2nd wear the black paint started to crack & flake off. I've been trying to upload a picture & the website keeps circling. For the price & the quality brand this is touted to be, it's unacceptable.

I like the style and color very much and thinking abt my other Hokas, I ordered it online right away. However, it wasn't cushioned and not comfortable as compared to Clifton 7. Since I like how it looks, I just use it with comfortable gel insoles.

I have had many Hokas but these don't compare to other Hokas I have bought in the past.

Hopefully Hoka will get brighter colors in plush versions.

I took this out on a trail running weekend. It was a lot of rock scrambling and scree. After the two days, the tread was ragged on all sides, the lugs worn down, and just overall beat up. The Mafate does not have the durability that I would expect. Kind of disappointed.

I loved the Evo Mafates but they stopped making those so I moved over to the Mafates Speed. I don't love them like the Evos. Too narrow and I now get blister on the sides of my toesand by the time I'm done running the tongue is moved down to where my laces are rubbing my ankle. The tongue is soooo short.

I need more arch support than this shoe provides. It's also very heavy.

I loved the colors reflected online and how cool they looked. Got them in and simply felt like the colors in person fell flat. In fact, it bothered me enough to resale them to someone that didn't mind so that I could purchase another pair that better suites my interest. Not as BOLD in person, almost looked childish.

These are the noisiest shoes. I'm a nurse so I bought these thinking they would be a good shoe for all the walking I do. I always buy good shoes for work. They saying,"you get what you pay for," well I feel I got less than I paid for. Very disappointed.

Returned them. Not that comfortable.

Not enough cushion. I sent them back for a refund. Still haven't received it.

Did not fit me well.

I had terrible pain in my feet from the shoe. It was well cushioned and I expected it to work well for me. It did not. I have very flat feet. Might be why.

I've worn this particular pair TWICE and each time, BLISTERS on both heels!!!!!! My other 3 pair have never been problematic. I am VERY DISAPPOINTED!

I love Hokas and own 3. Never had a problem with any of them. I've worn this pair twice and EACH time, blisters on both heels!!!!! VERY DISAPPOINTED.
