Having worn several iterations of both Clifton and most recently Rincon, my initial impression is that the new Mach 4 is the best of the bunch!

This is by far the best Hoka shoe I have owned. It is light, versatile, comfortable and fun. It works for slower paced long miles, or for picking up the pace. They could even be marathon shoes. I got the women's coral/yellow color-way and it's even more beautiful in person than in photos.
I go 1/2 size down from my usual running shoe size (to my usual street-shoe size) in all Hoka's. The brand size comparison tool on the Hoka website does work and corroborates my Hoka size compared to some other brands. They fit perfectly, so even though I size down, I will mark them as true-to-size because it's consistent with that tool.

I'm a walker, my Hoka shoes give me great support, cushioning and are very light weight. At first I thought the price was a bit high, but I get a lot of miles out of them and the comfort is worth it.

These ran extremely small for me! I am usually a size 8.5 in womens but usually order a 9 since I have a slightly wide foot (although I’ve never had to buy actual wide width shoes, so it’s very minor). I opted to order a size 7 in mens… but wow, these were SO tight width wise but also short size wise, my toes were scrunched at the front. There was zero way to make these work! These are my first pair of hokas, I chose this one because I thought the mens size would be bigger/wider — but also the style/look is really nice. Unfortunately I had to return.

The shoe is amazing and I felt like I was running on clouds!!!! It does run a full size too small. I gave them away but I am buying another pair a full size bigger. These shoes are amazing!

The shoes feel great but the tongue is stiff and rough. I had a sore red area on the front of both ankles after wearing the Mach 4. All my running socks are low cut, I guess I'll have to buy some taller socks.

These shoes were and are quite comfortable, I have had them for six months. The fabric is breathable. The bottom tread has worn out, and at the heel the fabric has worn through, leaving a hole. I wore them almost every day to walk in for 3-6 miles. I’m not sure if I can say they’re a good value given the wear and tear even though I like them very much when I did wear them. For the price I would have expected them to last a year.I ended up giving them away And getting a new pair of Rincon. the Rincon tread Has not worn down on the first pair I bought and is still quite comfortable. So I wouldn’t buy this model again.

These are my first Hoka running shoes and found out too late that Hoka runs about a half size larger than other shoes. Additionally, the toe box is very large (and I want a roomy toe box and bought these specifically for their advertised roominess.) Overall, an ok shoe but I probably will stick with my ASICS

I so wanted to like the Hoka Mach 4. They are a beautiful looking shoe, however their comfort doesn't match the beauty of this shoe. First of all, the forefoot of this shoe is very narrow, and my toes felt like they were being pinched. Secondly, they have a hard piece of plastic on the outside of the sneaker, that I am guessing it's purpose is to provide heel stability. However, in merely walking across my living room and back, I discovered this hard piece of plastic dug into my Achilles tendon and caused pain. So by the time I had walked across my living room and back my toes hurt and my heels hurt. I live in a one bedroom apartment, so I am not talking about a gigantic living room. Sadly, these are going back.
These sneakers also did not feel like they had good foot support. The arch support is not quite moderate, but not to the extent of no support. I did swap out the insole and put an arch support insole in, to see if this would make a difference in the fit of the shoes and discomfort, but it did not.
I have struck out twice now with Hoka, so I am trying a different brand with my next order.
I am very grateful for Zappos excellent customer service reps, and for Zappos generous and understanding return policy. Thank You.

The size was a tiny bit bigger than my normal 8's, and the support felt great. However the stitching/reinforcement around the laces dug into the top of my foot immediately- there is no way I could actually walk around with these shoes. I don't know if that was a one off issue with this pair or inherent to the design but I am sending them back. A shame as I wanted to be able to try a pair of Hokas for the sole padding.

Looks like a common design flaw. Saw reviews on elevon 2 model with the same issue. I had blisters on both ankle because of the friction from shoes tongue, never had that issue with any running shoes before! I opted for cliftons.

I run on a treadmill four days out of the week I didn't think this shoe was very comfortable and the support wasn't the best either, probably wouldn't buy this brand of shoe again

Bought these shoes December 2021. 5 months later they have holes in the back and the tread is almost gone. I walk about 3-5 days a week around 2 miles. These shoes are a disappointment for the price I paid. Bummed...
Tried to upload pictures, but they wouldn't go through

I love these shoes and would buy them again if they were still available. The Mach 6 seem different with a higher drop from the heel to the toe (may be imagining this.). I have and still use them for a lot of long distance walking. I wish they were easier to keep clean. I don't feel comfortable putting them in a washing machine.

I had tried many different brands and returned them due to them not being comfortable. I decided to give this specific brand a chance and it is the best walking shoes I've ever had! I am extremely happy with these shoes and I hope to find another pair exactly like these again.

These are not too bulky like the Clifton 7. My calves are much relaxed on these that's why these are my favorite ones. I somehow compared it with my Clifton 7 and Rincon 3, I realize that most likely it's because of the heel-to-toe drop is 5. just bought the Mach 4 and we'll see of it's an upgrade from this.

I need comfort and support. I wear these for casual wear almost everyday. I’ve dressed them up for air travel with jeans and a dress jacket, too. They wash well too! Happy with these.

These were my first pair of Hokas and the shoe that made me a fan of the brand. Lots of cushion and support. My only complaint is that I wore a hole in the heel, but I do that with a lot of shoes so it's not a deal breaker.
