This shoe was going to work. Light weight. Supportive enough. But after a few minutes it started rubbing my ankle bones in the front...

These seem like the most comfortable shoe in the world but my feet are too narrow. I might go down half a size next time.

I've really struggled to find a shoe for my wide feet and heavier frame. My typical go-to is the Nike Pegasus but I had been a little disappointed with their "Air" lines and I wanted to try something with a "wide" option. After a couple of other kinds of shoes that hurt my feet or left me feeling unsupported, I got the Arahi 5 for the stability and the reactivity and hit the road.
My runs were fine - no foot pain or injuries - but I didn't feel the lightness I had hoped for. They also don't have as much flexibility as I like.
I do work ten hour shifts on my feet, though, and have really enjoyed these shoes at work.

I over pronate and heel strike so I was on the search for a new pair of running shoes. I currently have brooks and although they seem to have more cushion than the hokas, the Hokas are much lighter. I do wish these had a bit more cushion but I guess that would add to the weight. All in all I'm pretty satisfied with trying these out and glad I added them to my running rotation

Great shoes, but I shouldn't of listened to the reviews on the size. They all said to order a size smaller so I did. Now i have to send them back and get my normal size. They are so comfortable. Very happy I ordered them. I'm on my feet all day and they feel so good. I ordered the Arahi 5.

Someone who has a pronation, I search for stability shoes that work for me. I tried Hoka's before and they didn't work. Little did I know, I didn't choose the shoe that worked for my running type. These shoes work great for stability and plunge you forward in your run unlike ASICS Kayano and Brooks Adrenaline which are heavy on the heal. For running shoes I always size up 1/2 or a full size for comfort. In this instance I got the wide and sized up 1/2 and they were perfect. Only downfall is the color options, being a female, I like a variety I can choose from and these color choices weren't the best.

Sending back as more for folks who overpronate; I tend to supinate, so felt uncomfortable. Need a neutral base. Great shoes, just not suited for my feet. Will order a different style.

My first pair of Hokas and first pair of stability shoes. Impressed with how light and bouncy they are. Other people are correct, they are very narrow. I also run in Altra's and On's (one wide brand and one narrow brand) and these are the most narrow. If you have a medium foot you can adjust the laces if you need more room, but if you have anything close to a wide foot I would opt for the wide size for that extra space in the toe box.

I wear an 11B in Brooks, fits well. I ordered the 11B in the Hoka and it is a full size too large. When I double checked the size on the box I see the EU size is 44. It seems the the US and EU sizing is not consistent with most size charts and maybe this explains why the 11 is so large. I am returning t exchange for the 10.

Won a pair of Hoka's during an exercise challenge at my gym. Took me months to purchase because I just don't like the styles. The fit is fine ...just a little rubbing on one foot but I am still breaking them in. I rotate my sneakers daily so I will wear them occasionally but don't think I will purchase another pair on my own.

As a floor nurse that packs a few thousand steps per 12-hour shift, I decided to try this shoe. Can I say right away, they are SOOOOOO light! After wearing them for a couple of weeks, I am completely pleased with my purchase. The only downside and reason for a .5 less than perfect rating is that there is not much arch support.

I like the sole and the close fit around my arches, but I need correction for pronation. I’m trying Biondi 7 and hope they’ll have the best fit for me.

My first pair of Hoka shoes had a special insert at Fleet Feet in Greenville, but buying online prevents me from having the inserts. How could I get the inserts now that I have moved away from Greenville?

I ordered an 8.5D. They fit, but after wearing them, can feel they may be tight on the outer edge of my little toe. I also ordered the Gaviota which felt more comfortable right out of the box. I am not a runner, but have been walking about 5 miles a day in a hilly area, so need a comfortable sole with support.
I'd also recommend:
New Balance, Brooks

I am a huge fan of the stability platform of the Arahi and looked forward to the Arahi 5. The shoe looks great. However, the it is much tighter around front of foot and despite wearing them around the house to make sure - they will have to be returned.

I got these shoes professionally recommended for the tendonitis I got while training for my half marathon a few years ago, and every time I need a new pair, I get the latest version. These did feel a little tight, though, and sometimes seem to cut the circulation off from my pinky toe, so if you normally gett a wide shoe, I would recommend sticking to that.

Am 85 and sometimes have problems with balance so this design may be safer than the other 3 models I have been wearing over the years.

The Arahi 5 has a lot of improvements compared to the Arahi 4. The sole has more dense rubber and feels a bit more cushy. The tongue is softer. The inside of the shoe has a fabric mesh instead of the plastic like feature in the Arahi 4. The Arahi 5 toe box runs a bit narrow, felt pressure along the pinky toes and down. Had to return for another size.

This is a beautiful shoe in mosaic blue/luminary green! SOOO comfortable and I love the new design of the heel which doesn't aggravate my achilles. If you don't need custom orthotics, this is the perfect shoe. If you do need them just know that with the Hoka insole out, and your orthotic in, it will sit MUCH higher on your arch. I walked 2.5 miles yesterday and kept wondering why I could feel the arch support so much. By the end it was painful. Last night I had cramps in my arch and today it's swollen and feels bruised. I put my orthotic in my old Arahi 2's for comparison. Sure enough it sat a LOT higher. Probably 1/4"> There is no way I can wear my orthotics with these shoes. I'm going to try them without orthotics. Maybe I won't need them!

Durability is not great. After two months, part of the sole edge lifted so I had to crazy glued it. I work on my feet 8-10 hrs/ 4/3 days per week and right about the 6th month mark I noticed holes in the inner heel area. Otherwise, I liked the support and comfort.

I want to like these, but they don't feel as stable and comfy as my Bondi 5,6!
Guess, I need to stick to Bondi!
