These were not as cushy or comfortable as the Bondi 7's I purchased first. I also didn't like they way they looked on my feet, so I returned them.

These shoes are very lightweight but not padded enough for me. I need to return them.

Despite a lengthy conversation with a HOKA customer support person, the Arahi 5 was not a good fit for me. I had previously worn Gaviota 2 and was looking for another style. While the Arahi 5 had the approximate toe box width I needed, it turned out (after an excruciating trial week) the heel width on the Arahi was too narrow for me. Returned them to HOKA after again speaking with a customer support person, and purchased Gaviota 3. Would have preferred a better color combination, but needed the shoes so I took what was available. Been wearing them and now have about 75 miles in with zero issues!

I LOVED my Arahi 4s (regular width), fit perfectly out of the box, most comfortable sneakers I've ever had in my life. So I happily ordered the Arahi 5s online directly from Hoka. I was surprised when I received them and discovered they were too narrow; no problem, I initiated an exchange for the Wide version. A week passed with no notification from Hoka, so I called customer service. Thank goodness I saved my receipt from the post office because the rep had trouble locating my returned shoes in the system. I was told that my new 'wide' shoes would be on the way that day since he was able to validate my return/exchange, and that I would receive shipping/tracking info once they physically shipped. Another week passed, I had not received any shipping info etc., so I called back. A different rep told me that the wide version of my shoe was not in stock and they already refunded my purchase. Without notifying me. I asked, "Was anyone going to let me know? I have been waiting assuming they were going to arrive any day." The rep replied, "Unfortunately the system doesn't always catch those things." It was just very frustrating because now over three weeks had passed since I purchased the shoes, and I was stuck having to start from scratch (first world problems, I know). I was able to find the wide Arahi 5s a few towns away, but unfortunately the insole is uncomfortable/rubs painfully on the inner part of my arches. I will be returning them ASAP. I was going to leave it be, but then Hoka emailed me asking "how I've been enjoying my purchase." The left hand is definitely not talking to the right hand in this company.

After hearing good things, and spending so much money on these shoes I wanted to love them. I wore them 13 hrs the first day with thicker (compression) socks, and the base of my 5th metatarsal was aching. The next 13 hr shift I tried thinner socks. My feet were KILLING me by the end of the day. I'm back to my dependable Asics. If you need a wider toe box, DONT get these.

The shoes fit just like my Hoka Arahi 4 which was great. I'm not sure what change they have made between the 4 and the 5 but within 5 minutes of putting them on my plantar fascia started screaming at me. It was irritated but not worrisome prior to putting the shoes on. I gave it another 5 minutes when hobbled in pain, I took them off and used ice on my feet. If you have plantar fasciitis stay away from this pair. I also use custom orthotics and they apparently narrowed the middle of the shoe making it very tight on the top of my foot with the thicker orthotic instead of their insert. Lastly, the stitching around the laces was already coming loose.

I returned the Arahi 5 in spite of it being my favorite. The swoop at the top of the heel catches on all my pants except leggings. At age 77, I need shoes for overpronation that I can wear every day.

Why would you make a wide shoe narrower? I have worn Ahari 1,2,3,4, but can't get my foot in a #5 Went to a shoe store and when they saw my old ones and then the new ones, they were also shocked at how narrow it was. I ordered every four I could find on the internet last night. Set me back a little but those are the only Hoka I can wear. Maybe you will remember the wide footed person again when you are making changes.

My medium width running shoes (different brand) are widower than the WIDE width that I ordered from Hoka One. Very disappointed and returning.
