The material is stretchy and feels nicely snug but not constricting. Order a half-size up -- this is my second pair and my usual size is an 8, but to get a good fit I had to order an 8 1/2. They provide great support. Added bonus: The laces are just the right size.

I am an ASICS fan and I have owned nearly 100 pairs over the last decade. These shoes didn't disappoint. I have worn them for a week or so now and they are comfortable and supportive. Now that I am older I am selective about my shoes and these seem to work for comfort. They may just a tad small but not much.

Love these shoes- great support! I definitely needed 1/2 size larger but that is how I run in Asics.

I almost always wear Asics and I like this pair. I will say that these do seem to run narrow and smaller than usual for Asics. I normally always wear a 6 medium and I got a 6.5 wide in these and I actually probably would have done better with a 7. Still overall a good walking shoe for me.

Overall good shoes

I got my usual size 9 in the latest iteration of Contend and nope, a full half size too small. However, I do recommend this style and brand; it's my go-to for cross-training aerobics shoes.

For anyone purchasing , just a friendly advice it runs small. My feet are narrow size 9, but it was too small. I exchanged the item for a size 9.5, and it fits. The customer service was pleasant, the exchange was simple, and I appreciate the service received. A+++

I love these sneakers. Super comfy for walking and very reasonably priced. ASICS delivers again. Thanks Zappos. I will say they seem to run a half size small. I’m a 7.5 and the 8 was perfect.

Shoes are comfy, true to size and have ample toe box room for my “square” foot! I teach, and only a few brands of shoes pass the all-day comfort test. These do??

Very comfortable shoe, cushy, more structure to the actual slipper part of the shoe (compared to Gel-Excite). Excellent price point. Runs a little short (I am an 8.5 in other brands, asics runs about a half size smaller anyway, this is another half size shorter again.)

The fit and width are perfect! Love the shoe, it is comfortable and stylish.

Very pleased with comfort of these shoes. Wear them for my daily 1-2 hour walks. Based on other’s reviews, I ordered these in half size larger than my usual fit. However, needed to exchange for full size larger. Return process very easy.

Need larger toe box

The shoe was too short - my toes touched the end of the shoe - not sure if 1/2 or full size off but want to exchange for longer shoe b/c I really like the looks and feel of the shoe. I put 1500 + miles/yr. on tennis shoes so hope these will last a while.

I had to order up 1/2 size. These look nice in a size 10, not huge. I have SS feet and the B is a perfect fit without socks.

After searching for the perfect running/walking shoes that support my knees, and bad back… I can honestly say I will never go with any other brand when these shoes wear out. Would highly recommend.

I have numerous foot problems, notably hammertoes and calluses. Plus, I'm old, which means the width of my foot keeps growing. Nonetheless, I do love long walks. What's a girl to do? I went to Zappos, which I know and love, and did the work to find a comfortable walking shoe. Now the length and width feel great, the toe box is deep, and the material covering the top of the toes is comfortable. I'm so glad I read the reviews and found ASICS GEL-CONTEND 7.

I really like them, color, fabric but believe the fit is a little tight and the same size I’m wearing now, and the same brand. Wondering if I should have ordered the next size up.

I ordered 1/2 larger and in wide width. I usually wear a 7 1/2 regular width. The shoe is very comfortable.

I almost always wear ASICS and these are my favorite pair yet. My foot is slightly narrow but I need a roomy toe box. Comfortable with good support. Wasn’t sure what to expect since they were on the less expensive end of pricing but they are better than more expensive styles. I’ve ordered another pair in a different color.
