A comfortable shoe even with a 12 drop. The foot plant in comfortable on paved roads and sidewalks. However it tends to feel every stone on a gravel road.

These shoes have way more cushioning in the insoles than I am used to. I like them, just having to adjust to the different feel.

Half a size to big, maybe. Comfortable shoe, nice style, and I felt supported. Unfortunately, I think, I need a 10.5 (2E wide). Instead of an 11 and it does not come in a wide. A 10.5 would not have worked but the 11 almost did. It does run narrow. I just felt over time that 1/2 inch to big would get uncomfortable. I'm looking for my size in a brook but it's tough to find. There are a few but the color is not what I'm looking for, ugh.

I have been running for 50 years and have been running with Brooks Gylcerin for many years. I ran with Gylcerin basically because they took such great care of my feet and legs. Every 400-450 miles my body would start telling me through slight aches and pains that it was time to change out and I would change out Glycerins. Until Glycerin 18. Something changed with the shoe and my feet and legs just hurt so much I could barely run more than 2 miles before the pain followed by numbness shut down my runs. After many attempts at adjustments with inserts, socks, stride changes and salves, different Brooks shoes with no improvement I took a chance with the new Trace. So far so good. Seems to have the feel and protection of the Glycerin. Snug on my feet and has the support I like for my ankles and heel. Running again with confidence and without the numbness and pain. Just saw the new Trace 2 is out on the market and desperately hope the shoes continues its promise of support and comfort.

Good fit as always and very comfy right out of the box. Not the high end Brooks but neither is the price tag. I would buy these again. Not my Adrenalines but a good casual everyday shoe.

Always love Brooks, when I ran I wore The Brooks Ghost and was extremely satisfied with them. The Trace are great for me now but don't feel as good.

Comes with a high arch support. I need that, but it may be a little high for me. After as lot of use, the outside of my soles hurt. Hopefully will get used to it, because I really like the shoes.

Great shoe, frustrating transaction. "Supply chain problem" is no excuse. Company promised delivery, then was several days late. I'm surprised that a Berkshire Hathaway company would do such a thing. Shoes are fine, but in the future I'll buy from a retailer or buy Asics.

I’m sure this is a good shoe, but they felt cramped with my orthotics, so I need to return them.

Comfortable and more durable than the Ghost

The shoe feels more like the old Ghost. I felt immediately at ease with it, much better than with the Ghost 14. I also liked that the shoelaces are what they had on the old Ghost (round, not flat) and I don't have to double knot like I had to do with the Ghost 14. On top of that, they are cheaper than the Ghost, so I am happy. After several generations of Ghosts, I have my new shoe.

It's a nice shoe. Have put about 30 miles (walking) on the shoes since I purchased them. My shoe of choice has been the Ghost, from the time I started running to walking now, but I thought I would save some money and go with the Trace this time. Overall, it is a good shoe, no complaints. Not really anything negative about the Trace, just not the Ghost.

It is a good shoe for the cost. I am a loyal Ghost fan, been using them for years, these are not as cushioned or comfortable in my opinion. If you are a smaller, lighter runner these may work great. I'll use them for inside treadmill work and much shorter runs. Size and fit are right on the money, they just do not feel as cushioned or stable for me. They are a good shoe for the price, but not on par with the Ghost.

As a regular Ghost wearer, I read reviews and noticed comments that the Trace was similar to the Ghost, so I thought I would give them a shot. Just walked 3 miles in them, they are comfortable and do have that Ghost comfort, so overall the Trace seems like a nice shoe. The Ghost feels snug at first, then once you break them in, they are a great fit. The Trace does not have that snug feeling. Not sure how much that matters, but my impression is the Trace might not be as good a quality shoe as the Ghost; will find out over the next few months. My only question is durability, I am not confident they will last as long as the Ghosts. I typically replace my Ghosts every 300-400 miles. Will see if the Trace can hit that mileage. My feeling is that, for the price difference, it's not worth it and I will be going back to the Ghost.

I tried these shoes as a longtime fan of the Ghost series. As expected, they are a little more minimal and stiff. They have a nice transition and feel when I'm on softer surfaces or moving faster, but I miss the cushioning of the Ghost when I'm on long, slow runs on hard surfaces. I'm a bigger runner, and the impact isn't doing my knees any favors. I'm happy with the shoes, and I'll keep them in my rotation until they wear out. Still, I think they're in a somewhat awkward middle ground. For faster runs I'd definitely prefer the Launch. For long runs, the Ghost is still my favorite. I'll stick to the Ghost/Launch duo for the future, but these are a great value with a lot of utility.

Bought 3 pair of shoes: Ghost, Revel, and Trace. The Trace just isn't as comfortable through the stride as the other two. Wish I could explain why. but the strike to toe off feels strange.

I've put 50+ miles on my shoes so far. With a few runs over 8 miles. The shoe length feels right, and toe box is adequate. Initially, the upper felt a bit snug for me, and I think I have a rather thin feet. After some breaking in, this has improved some. They do seem to vent well, and i hope they fair well for the summer. The ghosts are nice, but they are much too stifling for sweaty conditions, in my opinion. The soles/tread seem fairly responsive and active, but I would still consider these more of my recovery/cushioned running shoes, rather than my trainers.

I did a 3.0 mile run on Monday. They seem real comfortable for now. I need to see how they do on 5-7 mile run this coming weekend.
