The Glycerin 19 was to replace my ASICS Nimbus. I also have a pair of Brooks Ghost 14. Have to say that the Glycerin is disappointing. Pretty average cushioning that is firm. The Ghost 14 is actually a better fit for my foot and has only slightly less cushioning than the Glycerin. A better value for money. Even though I dislike the laces and eyelet placement of the ASICS Nimbus I am going to return to that shoe for my next purchase in a couple of months. Much superior footpad cushioning and overall comfort. Also can count on them for 350 miles or so.
I'd also recommend:
ASICS

I?ve owned several different Ghost?s and a couple Glycerine. The Ghost wore much better than the Glycerin in the past. Hopefully the Glycerin 19 wear better than the 2 other pair of Glycerin 18. If not I will go back to the Ghost.

I wanted to like these shoes more, but a couple of things kept me from it. I upgraded from the Revel 4 to the Glycerine to get some more cushion for longer runs. I?m 60 miles in but I?ve already gotten black toenails. The toe box is smaller than I expected (and to be fair I have hammer toes) so I adjusted my lacing to lock my heel in. Now I?m getting a lot of chafing on my Achilles? tendon. Not bad shoes but depending on your foot shape these are some things to look out for.

I miss the Transcend. This shoe provides good cushion and support. But heel (Achilles tendon) blisters in the bargain.

Cushion is great, they seem narrow, and the top of the heels is weird. Mine somehow got folded over and now they are un-wearable

I only run in Brooks and my last several pairs in a few different styles have been size 12.5. They always fit great. These, however, caused one of my toes to bruise badly. I wore the new pair on three runs and I think the toe box may be too small. I had to go back to the Adrenaline I have been using in order to continue training. They felt great otherwise and I?m disappointed they didn?t work out. Will likely return them for either a larger size or different style.

I really disliked how tightly these gripped my heel. I’ve never felt anything like it in a running shoe and I couldn’t even walk a couple steps with them on. Too bad too as I liked they way they looked.

The changec from glycerin 18 to 19 is for the worse. Less support and it doesn't fit my orthodic whereas the 17 and 18 did. It pops up and doesn't let my foot rest securely in the body of the sneaker

Bought shoes for a marathon and started off pretty good, however once I got to some of the longer runs, I noticed that the thin piece of plastic (?) that is wrapped around the heal for stability began digging into my ankle bone, enough to put a hole in a brand new pair of socks. At this point, I'm just going to have to add some padding to that area of my foot but does seem like a design flaw. Also interesting that it only has happened on one foot.

I went for my first run in these. 14.5 km or 9 miles. Very good cushioning and quite responsive. On the minus side my feet were soaked through and I could feel my feet squelching in these shoes after about 9km or 5.5 miles. Never really experienced this in other running shoes I have had. I have run in 30+ degrees and before and not experienced this. My run today was in 23 degrees and humid. I am not saying it is the fault of the shoe, but if you are prone to sweating a lot, then maybe try a different shoe. Apart from this one issue I was pleased with the feel and fit of the shoes.

I have bought Brooks Addiction for the last 20 years or so and they were fine. I wanted something other than grey however so I bought glycerin this time. Not nearly as good as the Addiction. Smaller toe box and my orthotics don't sit in the same place in the shoe. My arches got sore. History of plantar faciitis (spelling?). I'll stick with the Addiction.

Compared to my Glycerin 16s, which have very good cushioning, the cushioning and stability are better, but there's less toe room. So the rating is not as high as it could have been.

Wrong width. I need a 4E. If the width was correct, I would have kept them.

Nice shoe. Not as nice as the Glycerin 17 it replaced. The 17 was a more plush ride and had a more plush and higher quality upper. The 19 is fine. It?s just a step back.

For the most part it's a good shoe. The quality is not quite up to par. Could have had more colors more designs. It seemed to be very difficult for larger sizes or wider width to have good-looking looking running shoes.

This shoe appears to be slightly shorter than previous shoes I have had in this line with same measurements.

As several others have mentioned, I too experienced that the same size as my previous ghost 12's is too tight on the glycerin 19 around the toe box area. I discovered it only after about 20 miles or so. I would expect same size to feel similarly but now it seems I would have been better if I took an extra half in size. Apart from that, the shoe is excellent, super soft and plush but also stable. However the increasing pressure on the toes is disturbing and distracts from being able to focus on all the benefits. If you buy this shoe, consider that you may have to take a larger size than what you were used to.

Hi, The shoe was very comfortable for the first week then it seemed to not fit as well as it did at first. Maybe I will try a 12.5. I have always wore 12.

I?m a huge fan and always will be but I?m not a fan of the 19?s. I have all the others. The 18?s are amazing.

I've always been a 12 in Brooks. These feel like a half size small. Will probably change for a different model or larger size.

This shoe was phenomenal out of the box, however after about 20 miles issues began to surface. I am a 6'3, 270lb male, averaging about 50-75 miles a month. Normal runs range from 3-10 miles. Initially I was incredibly happy with these shoes, as they had the cushion I had been waiting for in a Brooks shoe. (My normal runners are the Ghost series, currently on the 13's). After a couple runs, I noticed that no matter how loose I laced them, the toe box was incredibly tight (even in wide width) and would not yield. In summary: excellent cushioning, Brooks keep designing models with this level of cushion. Please consider enlarging the toe box.

Went half a size up like I do for all my running shoes but too tight at the toe box. My feet go numb. I?m thinking a full size up or wide would have fit better.

I?m disappointed in the Glycerin 19. It just doesn?t feel as good as the Glycerin 18. I?ve had two 18?s and they are more comfortable. They seem a lot looser. I may send the 19?s back but first I will give them a few more miles this week to see if I can work out the kinks.
