I loved the fit and weight of the shoe. It did feel a bit stiff and unresponsive. Mileage will tell the tale, I suppose.

About 30 miles into the journey, I love the shoe! Wish it came in other colors. Only odd thing is the extreme traction can stress your ankle on uneven terrain.

so far so good. im a big runner 6'4" 275lbs. it is a firm -springy midsole. i do wish it was a tiny bit softer, but i think its going to work into a better feel . fit is great, its not a very narrow shoe in the box so my size 15 feet have room to breath. time will tell, i hyper-extended my knee last week so im down for a few weeks. hopefully when i get back to the trails i can see what this beaut is capable of. on a side note, seriously looking at gluing in a set of insoles with a little more arch support though. if youre a midfoot/pad striker you will like these. i like them for the fast pace hit it and get it short runs or interval training. really makes me want a pair of hyperions for my concrete days.

Ive been really excited for this shoe. I have only ran in the Catamount two times so far. Each run was about 12 miles on variable trail terrain. I've enjoyed the looks and responsiveness but am still finding some challenges with fit in the upper and more so in the heel. I'm sure I have the right size but am experiencing some issues with fit especially as I run hard uphill. It feels a little big in the heel.

I used these shoes to run the Taos Up & Over 10K race. This is a race at high elevation and very rocky terrain. The shoes did ok - I felt the rocks through the shoes, the width runs narrow and I did not feel the stability you feel with other Brooks. I am not sure I will be purchasing them again.

This was the only disappointing Brooks shoe I have worn. Just uncomfortable compared to every other design. The run feels stiff.

Fit is not nearly as comfortable as the Cascadia. The shoe is causing irritation of my heel. This will be saved for short runs on non technical trails

For a 'fast/light' shoe the sole holds up pretty well to rocks/pounding from running in the Southeast (though I'd cap these out at a 50k and go with more cushion for anything longer). Reserving judgment on longevity, as I only have about 80 miles on mine so far. My only complaint is the shoe feels kind of narrow and lacks some of the stability I need on really rocky/rooty terrain. I don't feel as confident bombing downhill in these, and I've found myself turning ankles more than I have in other shoes. If you're running buttery single track/forest service roads, these will be perfect. If you're hammering the gnarliest beast-coast trails you can find... make sure you stay on top of your balance board work.

Good fit and nice roll. But they are as concrete bricks under your feet. Very harsch cushioning compared to most other brand. I bought them on a promise they are good for long runs on trail,
But I wouldn't run longer than 10k in these. Sorry, I really wanted to like them. Maybe they get softer with time?

Don't like the way it holds my foot. Also a bit of a heel slip on one shoe.

Responsive shoe and fun for faster tempo runs on graded surfaces, with not a lot of downhill running. When my runs get technical with a lot of rocky sections, or pushing it downhill, the traction is not sufficient and the paper thin tongue shows it's weakness with lots of instep pressure. I really want to run in this shoe for my regular trail runs, but it doesn't seem to mix well with 10+ mile runs for the trails I run in SoCal.

They are ok but definitely not worth the money. I normally get the Cascadia but decided to give these a go. Not disappointed as they are comfortable shoe but for the price I should have gotten the Cascadia. Would have had the same comfort and performance at a cheaper price. Still love the Brooks though!

I liked the platform, sole very much. Stiff at first but more responsive after 15 miles. Very narrow shoe. Did not discern that from reviews. I have been running in the Calderas for years. They have become too spongy....not a technical term. My all time favorite was the Caldera 3. Not the best review. I will keep trying. My go to size is 10.5 W. Not all Brooks models come in wide...so I have been sizing up up 11.5 standard width with success. Mostly trail runs, with treadmill and track runs for mixed training. 25 to 30 makes per week. Currently training for a 50 mile ultra in November.

I don't recommend for anyone with wide feet. i had difficulty breaking in these shoes. After 1 month of trying to soften them up, the blisters and foot pain was too much and i had to retire these shoes.

White?! Do you expect serious trail runners to buy this shoe? It's going to be brown after a couple weeks. You already have tons of shoes with white mids that look like the shoes you keep around for cutting grass... Even if they are only a few weeks old. I'm quickly losing respect for Brooks designers

Too hard for me. Will stick to Caldera for the trails. Don't get me wrong, another get shoe from Brooks, it's just not for me.

These hurt my arches. I did a 4 mile trail run in these and couldn?t have gone another mile in them. How are these marked Ultra Trail on the website?? Whether that means long distances on trail or rugged terrain, I don?t see how anyone could do either with the 0 support these shoes provide. These should be marked as racing flats for light to medium trail. They're at least fast if you can wear them. Honestly, this is the last straw for Brooks trail shoes for me. After 16 years as a loyal customer I saw them discontinue their Adrenaline trail shoes, and then completely switch up the Cascadias between 2016-2018 or so. Utterly disappointing they don?t make a rugged trail shoe with good support anymore.

I was expecting more cushion. They were really hard on my feet when I got onto flat dirt and rock/gravel. They had decent grip on mud but harder surfaces they're really unforgiving.

These shoes were extremely tight right out of the box. I have many pairs of Brooks. These were very disappointing
